So happy they got the grants, and that they were able to spend some time in Gainesville. That must have been a tough interview for these women, especially asking about their strengths and why they think they will succeed. Bragging is not something Indonesians are good at, or comfortable doing. For anyone who knows both Jakarta DKI and Gainesville, you will quickly recognize the climate similarities of summer. 🥵🥵 I'm glad Tangerang's mayor (probably means governor) is supporting this project. Jakarta (the city) needs all the heat mitigation it can get. It's good to see those cheap Chinese city EVs zipping around town and Grab's e-bikes, but there are not nearly enough yet to make a difference. The auto exhaust from the 9+ million motorbikes alone must add at least 1°C to the temperature. I strongly encourage my fellow Floridians to visit Jakarta one day, especially UF Gators, to see what other innovations can be useful to Indonesia. (How about some Floratam grass, please?)
