Sean Keane is a singer and multi-instrumentalist of skill, acclaim and flair. He is rooted firmly in old Ireland with the Keane family tradition of sean-nós singing , but his music branches out gloriously from those roots pulling sustenance from many genres. A most distinctive voice from Ireland! His music transcends genre and yet ...is as obviously of Ireland as the green fields and the soft mists

Whistle into the wind, a chara, as you chase the sheep across the windy wastelands of Conamara
Nice one Keano, you warble like the linnet and bleat like a Conamara blackface sheep at the same time.
No joy matches the wonder of watching the sunset over the Atlantic as you blow your harmonica and contemplate the stones of Conamara

My great grandfather found his way here in the early 1850s, survived the famine. Within 2 years, he had sponsored his younger sister and brother.

@@AffectionateAstroStation-lx5is “lovely to here (sic)…”That’s on dad’s side. Mum’s 2 families both arrived, already married, in the 1850s too but brought with them, respectively, 9 and 7 children. People of all shapes, sizes and circumstances came after the famine.
