    With a typical alen key it's difficult to do the height adjustment, I used a small pipe on the short end to extend it for more leverage.

    I want to lift a window up but it's some 14 year old mechanism and it it blocked by a wall, what do i do?

    this wass the most missleading video ever. i am a painter and if i was gonna explain this to anyone i would not do it like this. there are way more steps to this. and when the corne iron is iron (it can be plastic) you can just screw it in so you dont have to wait for it to dry.

    acrylic have to be used before painting or after painting?

    • @diybookEN
      @diybookEN 5 лет назад

      Before painting, because you want to paint it with the same color the walls are painted.

    That was really helpful, thanks, I'm going to go do this now. Guy made it look so easy though, I'll probably have to sand it down and do it over for a week to make it look that good

    That guy must be really good considering he didn't need to sand anything down on that big ceiling before painting

      Sand or nor to sand? I would say it's a matter of how you work. After three times of spackling even non-professionals may not need to sand. That's a professional.

    Never EVER use that kind of tape, use paper that needs some spackle to stick and NEVER paint on top of spackle.. will dry out the paint.

    • @diybookEN
      @diybookEN 9 лет назад

      Jonas Poulsen Why do you not use that kind of tape? We love it and would never use the standard tape again. It's so much easier to work with. It is also no problem at all to paint over spackle. Dilute the color somewhat for the first paint. Do not dilute the color for the second paint and you will be fine.

      diybookEN maybe it is easier, but the tape is proven to be much worse in quality compared to the paper. The strenght of the paper are much more valuable, the tape can make cracks also, I am an educated painter myself and heard a lot about it when I was in school and worked.

      Jonas Poulsen Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Maybe we can talk with the manufacturer about your comment, although we did not have any problems so far.

      diybook I just know that every painter here will not use the tape, since you can destroy it , if you rip it from both sides and can make the walls crack, where they are used. afterall its about quality of the stuff you build and paint. The paper cannot be torn apart . Glad I could help. I just know that every firm where I live will not use those, cause of the insecurity there is behind the product whereas the paper are so much stronger even though you need to spackle a bit more :)

      LucidDarkness I'm an amateur but I would say the paper is best any time a folded corner is needed. The tape works great between flat seems because the spakle passes more freely for a tighter bond.
