The community not wanting it, is the reason the Michael Reese property has remained vacant for over a decade. The local community wants a development that is just not fiscally sustainable for the long term. I agree big developments are costly, but the community and city did not even put a solid effort into negotiating with the developer. The restructuring of the transportation alone was worth it.

I literally could not care less if they lost all their stuff in a fire. As a landlord, I rather they have enough money to pay the rent and believe me, I make sure the rent isn’t cheap. I’m gonna be honest I only care about my own self interest, and if my renters want to get renters insurance, good for them. I only care about them paying rent because traveling the world isn’t cheap and that’s when rental income saves the day. Nothing feels better than a strong independent single mother proudly paying $2,000 in rent each month all by herself cause she don’t need no man and I’m using all that money to go to Japan for 3 weeks. God is good.

Property taxes in the US should not be allowed to increase more than 0.75% per year period! Government spending is out of control!!!!

Three of my last re-assessment years (2007, 2015, 2018) my yearly tax went up 16%. Three of my re-assessment years (2009, 2012, 2021) prop tax only went up 3%. While property taxes should only go up 2-4% a year, EVERY YEAR, all the taxing bodies see re-assessment years as their big chance to crank up their rates as high as they can. And with no one really responsible for anything, everyone can point to the other guy to explain why a 3% tax increase became a 16% increase. Increasing property values with a slowly increasing govt. budget should mean prop taxes shouldnt go up by more than 4% EVERY YEAR NO MATTER if it is a are-assessment year. No wonder people are moving out.

Going to tax companies out of the area .The spending needs to be held down to reduce tax burdens. Commercial real estate needs to be reduced to allow businesses to survive. Just because real estate prices go up is no reason to spend more, and raise their taxes. Their reasons make no sense. If a property owner leaves, the property is still there paying taxes. Even if it's a commercial property. All properties should pay the same rate. Sales taxes should be used more, and property taxes lowered. State income taxes, and local income taxes should be increased. States need to be held accountable for how they use tax dollars.

How do you pay the property managers do you pay them 5% do you pay them 10% and also do you have the tenants paid the property managers directly and just trust the property managers to take their part out and send you the rest? this is a very important question for me
