From my hometown and brother in law to Jason Kubel, who I grew up playing with. As good as Kubs was those couple yrs, he might have been even better if he didn’t destroy his knee in the minors. Guy lived and breathed baseball.

@@Simulation_Stimulation still had a nice career. Made a ton of $$. But he woulda been a perennial all star w/o the knee injuries. You want to hear a crazy story? Look up Matt Harrington. He was the #6 pick in 2000 Draft. Rockies offered him $4 million signing bonus(record at the time,I believe,) his dad and agent declined, didn’t sign-and all went downhill from there. Drafted 4 more times-Still refused to sign. His Velo dropped from 98mph to like high 80’s low 90’s. His dad was such an idiot. Ruined his kids life, and he was a good kid, not super bright, but incredibly nice and down to earth and thought his dad was doing what was best for him. He wasn’t, he wanted to retire off his sons signing bonus and follow him around the country to everywhere he played in an RV. Maybe that’s what Matt wanted too? I don’t know, his pops wasn’t a bad dude, just kind of simple. Saw $ signs and wanted more and more. Once Matt had no more baseball opportunities he went to work at the tire dept of Costco. Moral of the story? If you’re a top 10 pick and are offered millions of guaranteed dollars just to sign your name…Sign your damn name. He did insure his arm for a million $’s. So hopefully he invested that well.
