OK I guess I'm totally lost because I'm an old white guy, but could someone explain why anyone ever assumed the bee gee's were black? Like, what is it about their sound that would make someone assume they were black, or white, or any race at all? What did I miss?

This was the song for the opening sequence of the movie "Saturday Night Fever" even though it was not specifically written for that movie. They wrote and performed about 90% of that soundtrack even before they knew the songs were going to be used for that movie. They were just writing songs for another album when their manager/producer (who was also producer for Saturday Night Fever) came to them and said I need songs for this movie I am shooting in Hollywood. They never even saw the movie until after it came out and the songs were plugged into it and they all fit perfectly.
