A bit over the top tbh, didn't like this scene that much. They really play up the 'Walt is evil' plot point, even to the point where he is devoid of all logic and reveals his money location.
The whole point of this scene is walt taking all the blame off if skylar so i don’t think you understood
The entire point of the scene was that Walt knew the police were listening so it was an opportunity for him to paint himself as the ultimate villain and absolves Skylar and anybody else in his family of guilt, bearing in mind that, by the Mere fact that they are related to him, they could be considered guilty by association. Walts entire purpose in this scene is to dispel any rumor of that being the case. You can see in his face that all of this is hurting him even more than it is hurting the people on the other end of the phone, especially when he says about not seeing Hank again, because his face is saying something completely different to his voice; his voice is evil but his face is absolutely heartbroken, because he didn't want Hank to die either, but he can't let on, and therefore, he puts on the voice of an evil man but, in actuality he's choking up at what's being said. Hard as this scene is to watch for us who are rooting for Walt, it's the most beautiful and well-written scene of the entire show in my opinion, because if you want to know what walt's face was saying it would be totally convincing that he really was this evil villain which means for all intents and purposes that's exactly what he has allowed himself to become even though underneath all of that the truth is he doesn't feel that way about any of what he has done and yet he still ended up doing it. The best way to understand what's going on in this scene is to really pay attention to what Walt is saying. The first thing he says to Skylar is about her towing the line, implying that he is controlling her under duress, and she doesn't actually want to go along with what he is saying but she's doing it because she has to out of fear of her safety and the safety of her children. He also says about Hank ending up dead family or no, which again tells the police, who he knows are listening, that he is doing this, and the family are against him, which again, absolves them of guilt.
