How to sew in zippers? As a sewing beginner or with slippery materials definitly invest the time to handstitch it in place. It saves you a lot of nerves - believe me I tested it multiple times... 😄🙈 #sewingtips #zipper #diyfashion

Check out Random B at Home she made a lingerie set out of wool and LizSews has alot of helpful lingerie making videos. When I was interested in making my own a couple years ago I followed a couple channels. I decided against it because I'm pretty flat chested and if people with actual breast have challenges with fitting I know it would be worst for me. There's also a good amount of indie lingerie pattern companies you can check out and there's more information online in fitting and construction than a couple years ago. Good luck

I want to sew my own lingerie because I don't want to wear polyester anymore. Especially bras are hard to find without polyester if you aren't looking for a sports bra. I have tried to sew my own bra some years ago but ended up being super unhappy with the fit because it is really an art. I hope my sewing skills will be better now and I will keep you in the loop. I appreciate any tips on how to start sewing underwear.

I don't do #thriftflips very often simply because some garments are simply too cool to be thrifted into something else. I found this blazer and directly fell in love. The only thing was: The shoulder pads were too huge for my body. I know it is kind of iconic but I wanted to wear it so I changed the old ones with some flater 7mm foam ones. I didn't like sewing trousers because I always thought it would take so much work but I was wrong. once you have a pattern that fits your body it actually is very easy and fast. I think puffy sleeves and a puffy skirt may be a bit much. The sleeve looks cute.

I spent some time on sewing a mock up for my Birthday dress and I did an experiment with a sleeve and don't know if the pattern manipulation was a good idea and matches the vibe or if I shall go with a different kind of sleeve. What do you think? #sewing #patternmaking

I had to adjust my design a bit to make it in time for the #bernina "a big day" competition. so instead of sewing flowers I am now going with geometrical shapes and I will sew a belt and leave the skirt plain. Can't wait to show you the final dress 😊.

Right now I am working on a piece for a competition and had to lay my vest aside beacuse it has such a short deadline. I need to have the dress and a picture of me in the dress ready by Tuesday. Let's hope I make it in time for the Bernina #abigday fashion competition 🤞🤞🤞. Hopefully I can show you the result on Sunday evening. Wish me luck that it turns out alright otherwise I simply won't take part. 🙈

I have never quilted. at least not like that and I thought I would be finished fast but sometimes life has other plans and gives you a cold 😄. Anyway I plan to slowly progress the quilted jacket over the next weekend and let's see if I am able to finish it this time. I guess everyone know the feeling of not fitting in. It's the story of my life 😂 and I always wanted to be like others and have it easier. I struggled a lot. Growing up, getting jobs, finding true friends, getting recognition, not having to fight for everything ... There is so much I could talk about but one thing I realized over the years: You are GOOD as you are. You in that very special moment can clap yourself on the shoulders and say "I am proud of me". You made it here and you are important, your voice, your being, your self-expression is important. You hold the key to a unique perspective and your part in this world is important. And never forget: The same goes for others. It doesn't matter how different they seem. In the end we are all humans.

I started digging a bit deeper into #polyester and if it has a negative effect on our health and stumbled across some studies that are worring me. Especially because the fiber is on the rise and in so many fashion item. What do you know about polyester, do you avoid it and have more information about it? I am certainly no expert but I find it quite interesting because I am a sewing my own clothing and I want to chose the healthiest option. What do you think? Have Polyester/microplastics a bad impact on our health?

I was inspired by a Pinterest picture of a dress with eyelets and thought I could make something more colorful 😊

A couple of days ago I was inspired by a Pinterest post of a dress with eyelets and thorught I wanted to try something similar with colorful eyelets to give it a twist. I love the result but because I was experimental I didn't thought I had something in my wardrobe that matched and remembered this Burda longsleeve today matches perfectly. I just remembered it after sewing an oversize tshirt 😂...

I bought the dressform one year ago and postponed adjusting it to my figure. It isn't perfect yet because I ran out of flat pins and I definitly need to sew a new dressfrom cover ❤.

I have been thinking about it a while and had hoped I would find something in my wardrobe but I haven't. personally I feel like going for something white or pink with some volume around the shoulders to balance it out. Maybe an oversize shirt and a pink contrasting belt in the middle... 🤔 What do you think?
