      Hello! After some research, our lactation team members would vote for the m5. However, if you'd like more information on both you can click this article link: www.forbes.com/sites/forbes-personal-shopper/article/best-wearable-breast-pumps/ It also depends on whether you want a hospital-grade wearable or basic a wearable pump. We hope this helps!

    How does this sanitize the inside of the cpap hose and the cpap machine itself?

    • @janzmedicalsupply
      @janzmedicalsupply 28 дней назад

      Great question! While your hose and mask should fit in the sanitizer, we do not recommend putting your CPAP/BiPAP machine in the sanitizer. The sanitizer replicates ultraviolet rays like what's produced by the sun to eliminate over 99% of germs and bacteria. This will also reduce unpleasant smells! It's completely safe and used in hospital and aerospace facilities.

    Why does my Spectra 2 not go to 70??

    • @janzmedicalsupply
      @janzmedicalsupply 3 месяца назад

      The Spectra S2 has a single cycle speed of 70 in Massage/letdown mode (suction level can be adjusted). Once the user switches to Expression mode (when milk is flowing), the cycle speed is adjustable between 38-54 cpm. So, The Spectra S2 does have a cycle speed of 70, but only in Massage mode.

    This one or Lansinoh hands free? I’m gonna be a working mom

    • @janzmedicalsupply
      @janzmedicalsupply 3 месяца назад

      As a working mom, you will partially depend on the pump to maintain your milk supply while you're away from the baby. Because of the dependency on the pump, it's incredibly important you have a reliable pump that is capable of maintaining your milk supply. Wearables don't work well for every mom, unfortunately. They often don't remove milk as effectively as a standard pump with the tubing. However, it is essential to have effective milk removal. If this is going to be your one and only pump we highly encourage you to first get a reliable pump. But if you are looking for the convenience of a mobile hands-free pumping experience, consider a reliable pump (one with the tubing and flanges held to your breast) that has an internal batter paired with wearable pump cups.

    How is this hands free when we are still attached to tubes and a machine that connects the collectors?

    • @janzmedicalsupply
      @janzmedicalsupply 5 месяцев назад

      This hands-free model consists of wearable pump cups. These cups are to be worn in your bra. This differs from the traditional flange style as you no longer need to manually hold the flanges to your breasts. The new cup design in your bra leaves your hands open for other tasks while pumping. There is the external pump hub which can be attached in a few different ways to make you mobile: you can put it in a side bag and carry that on your person, you can place the hub between your breasts for discretion, or you can use the lanyard accessory for it to dangle on your wrist. All ways will give you more mobility for a portable hands-free experience.

    Does this leak when you move like other wearable breast pumps?

    • @janzmedicalsupply
      @janzmedicalsupply 6 месяцев назад

      The key to preventing wearable pumps from leaking is ensuring all parts are sealed and attached together properly, staying in an upright position while pumping, and not exposing the pump parts to high heat during sanitizing. If you follow those steps, there should be no issues with this pump leaking.

    So what wearable would you recommend for a mom with elastic nipples? My primary is motif Luna but I need a wearable for work.

    • @janzmedicalsupply
      @janzmedicalsupply 6 месяцев назад

      Quick question. Have you used a nipple ruler to find your flange size? Our IBCLC has seen quite a few moms who appear to have elastic nipples, but once they are sized for the correct flange size, that's not actually the case. If you genuinely do have elastic nipples you can use Pumping Pal inserts into the 24mm flange tunnel of your wearable to help extend the flange tunnel. This can be done for any 24mm flange. This method will make the wearable slightly more bulky, but it will make it work for your needs. With that hack in mind, from there pick a pump that supports your lifestyle, preferences, and needs. For work, we would highly suggest a more reliable wearable as you will be depending on that pump to maintain your supply multiple times a day every day. For this, our IBCLC would suggest the Elvie Stride or Willow Go.

    Elvie Stride or willow go?

    • @janzmedicalsupply
      @janzmedicalsupply 6 месяцев назад

      It really depends on your personal preferences. Both pumps are a great pick because of their strength and reliability. The biggest factors to consider between the two options are the following: Does your insurance cover both pumps? Are there any co-pays for either of them? Do you have any supply risk factors? If yes I'd choose the elvie stride. Is discretion a big need for you? If yes I'd choose the Willow Go. If you plan on very frequent pumping, Elvie Stride may be better. If you purchase your pump through JANZ Medical Supply, you are eligible for a free pump counseling appointment with one of our JANZ Moms doulas or lactation consultants to help you dive deeper into each pump if you'd like. Flange size? How do you insert the 15 mm. I was told that you have to put all the previous flanges in prior instead of just adding the 15

    • @janzmedicalsupply
      @janzmedicalsupply 6 месяцев назад

      This pump comes with the standard 24mm flange size. To change this flange size you would need a flange insert for your desired flange size. These inserts are a soft silicone that goes right into the 24mm flange and reduces the space to whatever size is right for you. Some moms just push the insert into the flange tunnel with their thumbs others find it more helpful to collapse the insert in half to have it sit flat against the 24mm flange.

      We are SO glad you found this helpful! The biggest difference is the suction settings. Momcozy does have a very unique hybrid suction style. It combines 10 short fast suctions followed immediately by one long suction. It also has a unique angle of the flange that supports better milk expression as it is most similar to a baby's latch. But the Elvie Stride includes discrete tubing and an external hub, which our in house IBCLC says makes the Elvie Stride a stronger, more reliable wearable pump

    • @janzmedicalsupply
      @janzmedicalsupply 7 месяцев назад

      Hello! Generally, a low or no suction issue usually has something to do with pieces being placed incorrectly. I would try to reassemble and use a deep latch technique with the pump to ensure a good attachment between the nipple and pump. Also, flange sizing can have a big factor in how well your pump works for you. Check your manual for troubleshooting guidelines for this specific pump from Medela. If your issues persist please get in touch with Medela for a replacement pump.

    • @janzmedicalsupply

      There is a spout hole at the very top of each cup. If you tip the collection cup upside down into a bag/bottle it will pour your milk out safely without risk of spilling. After pouring your milk through the top, you can open the two sides of the container without risking losing the milk you just pumped.

    • @janzmedicalsupply
      @janzmedicalsupply 7 месяцев назад

      Personally our IBCLC would choose the Elvie stride. She actually currently uses the Elvie Stride as her wearable breast pump. The suction is much stronger at 300mmHg vs Medela's 245mmHg.The pump hub is significantly smaller than the Medela. The Elvie stride also comes with an app and the flange tunnel is longer than the Medela to better accommodate more nipple elasticity without impacting suction capabilities.

    Why do you not recommend for exclusively pumping mothers?

    • @janzmedicalsupply
      @janzmedicalsupply 8 месяцев назад

      If a mom is exclusively pumping that means she is fully relying on the pump to transfer milk and sustain her supply. The pump needs to be strong enough to establish, maintain, and increase her supply. Wearables are not as strong or as reliable as our primary pumps even the Elvie stride. The Elvie stride is one of the most reliable wearable options, but it still does not supersede one of our primary pumps. If you choose any wearable pump as your only pump when exclusively pumping, you do run the risk of not being able to supporting your supply which can impact feeding goals. It is a safety net choice to instead pick a primary pump for the strength, reliability, and control of settings.

    • @janzmedicalsupply
      @janzmedicalsupply 9 месяцев назад

      This is a hard one to answer! The type of suction Medela uses is a vibration, but it's the same throughout all of their pumps. The vibration is responsible for the loud buzzing sound that Medela pumps make. Spectra pumps have more of a flutter suction, so it is less audible. We definitely recommend you either visit our JANZ store or go to your store of choice to turn them on and see what you think.

    • @janzmedicalsupply
      @janzmedicalsupply 9 месяцев назад

      Thank you so much for reaching out! This is a common issue for a lot of moms. If you are leaking from the flange piece while pumping it could be that the flange piece is not being held to the breast firmly enough. You can use more pressure with your hands or use a tighter fighting pumping bra. It also could be an incorrect flange for your nipple size. Most pump kits come with 24mm and up. About 90% of moms actually need a size that is smaller than the standard 24mm with the most common size actually being 15mm. Using the right flange size will create a better seal with the pump, increase comfort while pumping, and allow you to express more milk in a shorter amount of time. Here is a complete guide to help you find the right flange size for your nipple. ruclips.net/video/IP5IAnRnGT0/видео.htmlsi=JVRImwc43M0hv0LE

We could only find limited info on the Fetal Plus 3.0 for more details. It may be a decent product, but our IBCLC really couldn't say for sure without personally testing it. In general, the price point is about the same as MomCozy pumps. Our IBCLC would choose MomCozy simply for buying into an open company that you can trust. @@StacyOho We are so happy we could support you. The M5 and S12 are very similar but have a few key differences. The M5 has a faster cycle speed in the stimulation setting. This wider angle flange more accurately reflects the positioning of a baby's latch on the breast and higher suction levels. The M5 also comes with a few different flange insert sizes to try and the Momcozy pump carrying case. Overall the M5 is a premium product with several benefits over their other models.

    I have heard that this pump has very low suction is that true?

    • @janzmedicalsupply
      @janzmedicalsupply 10 месяцев назад

      Actually, the opposite is true. This is one of the highest suctioning pumps on the market. It gets up to 300 mmHg. It is classified as hospital-grade suction. It also has the dual motor feature which allows each breast to receive the full 300mmHg on each side. Our lactation consultant recommends this for moms who like and respond best to higher suction levels.

    Would you say this is better than the Elvie stride?

    • @janzmedicalsupply
      @janzmedicalsupply 10 месяцев назад

      Hi there! We apologize for the delay in our response. We hope this helps! Both the Medela Hands Free Freestyle Flex and the Elvie Stride pumps are great reliable but wearable pump options! They are similar in appearance but do have a few key differences that may benefit one mom more than the other. Mostly this boils down to personal preference and the need for why you are using a pump. Here are the differences. -Medela cups only have 3 pieces so they are simpler and easier to clean. -Elvie Stride does have hospital-grade suction of 300 mmHg as compared to the Medela pump at 245 mmHg. -Elvie Stride has a slightly longer battery life. -Elvie Stride has an app you can use in real-time while you are pumping to change the pump settings. In our opinion, if you just want a portable/wearable pump for occasional use, the Medela could be a great pick for you. But if you are going to be using the pump regularly such as for work or frequent pumping the Elvie Stride might be a better pick. If you know you need higher suction levels the Elvie Stride would likely support you better. But at the end of the day what pump is best for you is very individual to your preferences and needs.

      i like the medela symphony that i used when my baby was in the nicu your wic program might have a medela you can borrow

      @janzmedicalsupply 11 месяцев назад

      How we recommend pumps to moms is based individually on history, goals, lifestyle, and preferences. But for a twin mama, we really want to see her in a strong reliable breast pump that can support her as a safety net: the pump is strong enough to establish her milk supply, maintain it, and increase it if she ever needs it to. We would highly recommend a dual motor pump as this feature offers the highest level of reliability and strength. A personal recommendation from our lactation consultant is the Unimom Opera + Pump. It is a dual motor hospital-grade breast pump that can control suction levels (gets up to 280 mmHg per breast), has an internal battery, can control cycle speeds, and can toggle between expression and stimulation modes whenever mom wishes to. It has every feature combination a mom could ever want which makes it incredibly reliable for sensitive situations such as having twins. What would be the comparison between this pump and the Willow?

    • @janzmedicalsupply
      @janzmedicalsupply 11 месяцев назад

      This is such a great question, thank you for reaching out to us! The most obvious difference will be that the Medela Hands-Free - Freestyle Flex will have a set of tubing that connects to both the wearable cups and an external pump. The Willow 3.0 and Willow Go, are completely wearable pump units with no tubing or extra pump units. Suction Strength: -Medela - 245 mmHg -Willow 3.0- 245 mmHg -Willow Go - 280 mmHg. Another massive difference is going to be your user control in the settings. Each pump has 2 modes of suction. They all start off in stimulation mode which is fast short bursts of suction that help mom have a letdown. Then how you enter expression mode does vary between these pumps. Expression mode is longer stronger pulls of suction that help to remove the most amount of milk while moms are having a letdown. We do think it is incredibly important to have control of these modes as this is the primary tool you would use if you ever need to increase your supply or maintain it. Medela has options to switch into expression mode manually whenever you would like as does the Willow GO. The Willow 3.0 switches into expression mode automatically only after a mom has pumped .5 oz. Because of this limitation on the settings, I personally gravitate towards pumps with full user control so you can effectively use the pump if you ever need to increase or maintain your milk supply. Another defining feature is reliability. Generally pumps with an external pump, such as the Medela Hands-Free Freestyle Flex, offer more reliability than wearables. This is because they have stronger motors in the larger external pump units that also have longer lifespans with these pumps. Also, many moms have a difficult time using a wearable pump. One indicator that can support moms deciding on a wearable or standard pump is if you previously had a baby and know you had a good milk supply, a wearable pump will likely work well for you with the right flange size and right bra fitting. If this doesn't fit you, a standard pump will likely support your pumping goals better than a wearable. If you only have one pump we recommend that you get a reliable pump with the tubings just in case something happens where you need to use the pump regularly to maintain your supply or use it to increase your supply for any reason. If you already have one of these pumps then it would be a great time to pick a wearable pump for more mobility and discretion. Also, with the Medela Freestyle flex you do have the option to get the traditional flanges & bottles that you hold to your breast if you ever want to have the more traditional pumping experience at some point. These are the biggest differences between the 3 pumps, and a little guidance to help you with your choice. If you would like further support in this decision on your pump choice we have free pick your pump appointments for all of our TRICARE patients who intend to purchase a breast pump through JANZ Medical Supply. Is it possible to only use one of the cups and not both? I have one side my baby favors and am needing just one to empty that side

    • @janzmedicalsupply
      @janzmedicalsupply Год назад

      Absolutely. Just take the tubing out of the cup you do not wish to use and insert the adaptor on the end of your tubing in the middle of the T connector piece (there is a hole) this will block off suction to the other side and allow you to single pump with more effective suction. This specific point is demonstrated starting at 8:48 in the video as well. Good on you for being in tune with what your baby and your body needs! JANZ is always here to support you with any of your infant feeding or pumping questions.

    Is it not harnful to use alcohol wipes to sanatise these. Also will 1:1 vinegar water solution effectively santise the parts?

    • @janzmedicalsupply
      @janzmedicalsupply Год назад

      This problem area of high heat sanitization rending wearable pump parts mishappened and unusable is still relatively new. We don't have exact guidelines from manufacturers or the CDC for these specific cases. What we know is boiling, steaming, and dishwashing will cause major problems for wearable parts. When they are exposed to high heat they will warp and create issues fitting back together which causes both suction and leaking issues. Yet pumps still need to be sanitized. How do we do this safely? A few options are rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, 1:1 vinegar mixtures. Soak the parts for a few hours, let them dry completely then wash as usual with soap and water. The CDC states that infant feeding devices/parts that cannot be boiled or steamed should be washed with bleach and then left to dry. This practice is considered safe for feeding items although bleach is a harsh chemical. Once dried in the parts it poses no risk to infants. www.cdc.gov/hygiene/childcare/clean-sanitize.html Vinegar is known to kill bacteria but not viruses. So this is up to you and your comfort level. If you are comfortable with harsher chemicals such as bleach it will provide you with the most effective sanitization. Hydrogen peroxide is the middle ground as it's safe for cleaning oral wounds as long as it's not consumed in high amounts. But vinegar is the least harsh chemical but also has the least effectiveness for killing both bacteria and viruses. Our goal is to provide parents with all the information available to help them make their own informed decisions on what is best for themselves and their children in this situation.
