A family of four documenting their second full home renovation journey!
3 month update!
Since our last video Gil has widened the stairs and added depth to the steps, the two bedrooms upstairs have been framed, network cabling have been pulled through the house to support my nerd hobby, and we spent a 3 day weekend to repair dry rot.

Bathroom... ✔ check!

Bathroom... ✔ check! I can't recall when we started tackling the bathroom so that we can shower like kings and queens again. It seemed like forever, but we are pretty much done with it! 🤙 We have a few minor items left on the bathroom punch list but we can save that for the finishing touches toward the end of this project. For this home I chose contemporary elegance by implementing marble-like ...

2 Months Post Demolition Day Update (D-Day Update)
Просмотров 259Месяц назад
It's close to 2 months post D-Day (demolition day) and we’re pretty much down to studs and bare flooring! We’re now in the sweeping and vacuuming dust, dirt, spiderwebs, et cetera phase of the project and getting all accessible crevices and surfaces nice and clean. We've pulled out staples from the wood flooring, ripped out the old and very heavy... extremely heavy... tub, repaired prior wood r...
Renovation has resumed!

Now that our temporary setup is situated, we have resumed demolition! We’ve done a total of 7 dump runs and we may have a few more to go before we can start placing new components in the house. I feel like this demo is taking way longer than we expected. Our situation is definitely different on this project compared to our last - Boboy and I work full-time now, so progress has not been progress...
Renovation Intermission

It's been awhile since our last video upload. We've been at an intermission since then to prepare the property for travel trailer living! You heard that right, since the house is under renovation we will be camping on the property for a couple of months. No one likes paying rent AND mortgage, and so we decided that this is what we'd have to do to save ourselves from an unnecessary expense. We r...

Happy 4th of July! We have done a total of 4 dump runs since we started this project and we are half way through with demolition! We're now dealing with removing plywood for walls which is alot harder than it looks. In this video you see alot of cleaning up insulation and cleaning the wall studs by removing the nails from them. Gil dropped the ceiling in the hall and in the kitchen. And we fina...

To get our viewers up to speed: We sold our home and acreage in Florida (to a good friend who continues to pick up where we left off to improve and enjoy the home and land as much as we did) and moved back to Washington state. We found a small lil bungalow house on 1.41 acres IN TOWN!!! that needs some love and care. Here we are again, back for another family project!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to post a mini update since we've had some radio silence on our Facebook page. Not much has been happening at the acreage... Spring is rolling in and Summer is just around the corner, the weather in Northwest Florida is cooling down and warming up! Gil and Boboy were able to cement the edges of the back porch Gil also made a small platform step along with it. Gil clear...

Happy new year everyone! Since our last vlog upload we have cleared all the vegetation overgrowth inside our fence line. Now Napu and Tasi can run around in even more open areas and we'll have more grass to maintain! We spent our Christmas and New Years day working around the property as usual. We finally gave the house its very first wash and cleaned up the front yard after making a huge mess ...

Any problems with your tractor not wanting to pull heels and mid-range? I just bought a brand new 3015h and not even with a load behind it or in the bucket no PTO on.. try to pull a hill and it will stall out on me. Also can't even really get it to run in high range try to drive up and down the driveway to see what it would do and absolutely no power.
We've never experienced that problem with ours. Check if your hydraulic fluid is low.
Well doesn’t that thing look as useless as tits on a boar hog 🐷
Dsy 3 you would of been done on dsy one if you did it right with a real insulation vacuum instead of a ghetto dust collector. Why did you post a video of hillbilly diy job
Seems like it would be easier to just use the backhoe bucket.
Not without making a huge hole in the ground. Which is what we we're trying to prevent.
I need one for a Mahindra 1626 backhoe.
I'm getting the same one tomorrow. I hope I'm making the right decision.
We are not disappointed yet! We're actually getting our brush cutter implement installed tomorrow. You'll love yours!
still loving it??? great looking tractor
Yes! It's a great piece of equipment! Huge necessity for the tasks that needed to be done.
Nice improvement!
Sweet! Love nen😊🪴⚘️❤
so dangerous letting daughter use your tractor. you will never get it back lol
Poor Stu!! You're going to be eating good though!🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾
Big bags and a gas powered motor vac would get the job done in a few hours
The vac is supposed to be outside 🤦♂️. And that little vac and bags will take forever
Yeah, we ended up improvising with the vac bags and using bigger ones and the vac was kept outside. We used a 100ft hose cut to the desired length to fish it through the house.
where did you get the thumb for the backhoe?
It was installed by our dealer when we ordered it. I'm looking through our paperwork to find a model number for you. So far, all it indicates is, "Branson BH150 Backhoe w/ thumb kit." I can definitely find out more information on the thumb tomorrow if you'd like me to. Let me know!
@@7AcresOfSunshine No, I'll contact a dealer. Thanks for offering though.
How much for Gil to fab and ship another ripper(same Branson BH150) to me? Also, do you have a link for the thumb?
Hello Richard! As much as Gil would like to fab one for you, he's been so busy with the house and farm. But what we can do is share with you his process. He took measurements of the bolt holes on the BH150 of where he would be attaching the tooth, and then he winged everything else. When he was fabricating the cut he was trying to imitate a huge knife to cut roots. He gave the blade (or tooth) a sharp knife-like edge. He said he used a torch to cut it and then he grinded it. He used a half-inch steel plate.
@@7AcresOfSunshine thank you
Hafa adai I'm coming to visit!
C'mon down!
😊❤❤❤❤❤❤😊 I'm so proud of you and Gill! Come now do my house. Love you all, be safe. Until we see each other again. 😊❤❤❤
Thank you auntie D! Vacation down to Florida sometime! We finally have a guest room to accommodate! 🥰🤗😘
Love it! This house is going to be so Beautiful! Nen thank you for sharing.
Omg I love it!😁❤ can't wait for it to be done! Party time. I'm so proud of you all.
Thank you Auntie D!
@@7AcresOfSunshine 😊❤❤❤😊
Quite a team you have with the main vacuum and 2 shopvacs. Always a tough job. Nice share.
The newtility room 🤣
I know. I kept trying to correct her and kept having her re-say the line. She never got it right, so it's going in the video anyways. haha
@@7AcresOfSunshine she must still call Vivian (lidian, nidian, livian or nivian)
@@RM-Chamorrita It's Vidian. Haha
I've had my fair share of attic emptying jobs. Pretty tough depending how the attic looks. And you have fuses? Wow haven't seen those in a while.
Hello Sinnisj! It's a messy job that's for sure! The fuses was a definite throwback but they will be changed to a circuit breaker pretty soon. Thank you for watching!
@@7AcresOfSunshine I am also starting out an attic insulation channel and film my work with a GoPro. Always good yo see how others get the job done as well. You learn a lot.
@@SinnisjInsulator We're using a GoPro as well! Glad we chose it! It holds up well when it's strapped to your body when debris and tools hit it from all sides. My husband used to be a contractor up in Washington State, so he's leading our home project. It definitely is always good to see how others get the job done. One way could be easier and more efficient than the other.
I miss the babies
Are you sure about that?! 🤣 I've been scolding them since you left.
@@7AcresOfSunshine still miss them
@@RM-Chamorrita you might want to reconsider your thoughts. 🤣
@@7AcresOfSunshine nah I still miss them
