I'm glad this years Mecum Auction went off without a hitch. Last years auction met with a bad storm causing damage to the cars outside under the tents.

I remember when I was a little kid in a Rat Fink shirt building models of dragsters, funny cars and rockets. Big Daddy was up there with Neil Armstrong in my book.

Liked the pair of Dodge Coronet’s, at 20:12. Distinctive body style and impressive acceleration and handling for its time. The Coronet series, particularly the 440 trim was exemplary of the muscle cars of the time. Interesting are the restored to original specification vehicles but notably the well-preserved models in the survivor tent speaks volumes, something to truly be admired.. The classic styling pedigree brings back fond memories.

That looked like a nice neon in the survivor tent!! Wish you’d of checked it out!

My first car in 1970 was a 1969 Chevelle SS 396-L78/ L-89 with aluminum heads, Tuxedo Black stripe delete with a white soft top. It was for sale in Sarasota last year as I went down to see it. Now I have a 1969 SS Chevelle 396/L-78 L-89 Code 72 Monaco Orange Rock Crusher M-22 with 3:73 gears with factory chambered exhaust. She is part of my collection of '69 SS Chevelles!
