Putting a screenshot of the thinking panel on a second monitor is what they call a pro gamer move... It was unexpectedly fun to watch someone else play this game. I hope you will eventually get around to playing the DLC prequels. Personally I enjoyed them even more than the main game, even though I must confess I did some major cheesing to get through some of the tricky parts.

On my first play-through, I did not pick up on the secret of Lazarus Herst's real identity until this episode with the lighthouse miracle. For that wow-moment it remains one of my favorite episodes of the game even if it lacks in depth compared to some of the other ones.

Dude, I'm really enjoying this series. One of those lucky youtube algorithm finds. Now onto the next episode!

I also like the wordplay of the names, Van der Meer is (archaic) Dutch for "from/of the lake". It's a toponymic last name, like Hill, or Rivers in English. So Dale's last name tells us he's from the lake, his first name sounds like the Dutch word deel, which means part. So both combined make it sound like his name is "part of the lake" in Dutch. 😁 The monkeys' claps indicate which monkey you need to click next, they clap 1, 2, or 3 times. It's not a memory game 😊 I really like your theories! The rest of the games will give you more information, but it does stay pretty vague most of the time.

In seasons the voice on the phone was someone else calling you, this time you were the speaker yourself. So you were the one telling the corrupted soul that she should leave her memories behind and that they belong to the lake now. This means that the backwards speech is Mr Crow. I agree with you about the colours, they have meaning, and I also agree that blue is redoing something. In this game we see that the black and white cubes are memories, bad and good ones, and that the lake feeds on memories. But taking the memories can cause a corrupted soul. Since there are souls wandering the lake. You fished one up in The Lake as well. Mr Owl and Mr Crow have probably done this several times before, and now have to solve the problem of the wandering souls. Which Mr Owl seems to think is going to be Dale's job.

I looove how Case 23 opens up so much more story and lore while also leaving with so many questions! Love how you immediately thought Dale is attractive, I prefer him with a beard and I don't like shaving him there 😆 Dale and Mr Crow are two of my favorite characters so I'm excited you met them here! I can't wait to see what you think of the next developments

Some characters are best identified by their clothing, such as the stewards and midshipmen wearing uniforms appropriate to their roles on shipboard, or topmen and seamen dressing similarly to crewmates of the same national background. Others are best IDed by whom they hang around with, like the surgeon's mate tagging along with Evans or the personal stewards accompanying their respective bosses. Accents are another key source of information for those characters who are heard speaking.

FWIW, all that booze was probably intended for the entire crew's rum rations for the journey, not the Captain's personal use. Alcohol on EIC ships was kept tightly controlled by top officers to ensure no one could get drunk on duty.

Getting every achievement is not necessary to play the games, and from what I've seen a lot of people don't bother to. It can be a lot of work! But if you do unlock all achievements the games/series will reward you with extra secrets ✨ I hope saying that doesn't count as spoiling anything, its up to you how much you'd like to do. The story is really layered and once again I love that you're tracking lore tidbits and characters to see how things develop!! I like your theorizing on Van Gogh and doors and cubes ⬛🟦

In The Lake the box can be opened without information from any other game. The box you managed to open is the optional one. 😊 It's always interesting to watch different people do the puzzles, you immediately understood that the codes around the room were colours, other people didn't get that at all sometimes they even didn't get it after they got the paint. On the other hand, there were also people who got the mirror box code almost immediately. Different strengths for different people. 😄 The little question mark in the ear is telling you that it's black on the painting you already finished.

Great stuff! Very fun watching you discover and brew some conspiracies for the story 😂, can't wait 4 more!

Okay I finished watching! Kudos for getting through the rough bits! The earlier Rusty Lake games can be tricky, and I'm impatient enough I used a guide here or there for a puzzle 😅 But imo the games get better both from a gaming perspective and in terms of story development and intrigue. I'm excited to see you get to my favorite games in this series if you play all of them! Also your reaction to the corrupted soul when you stabbed was so funny 😆 that scare got me so good when I first played. The achievement you were chasing in Seasons should work, I hope you get it!
