Usually connecting two pieces of metal with only weld isn’t going to work as you can see but if you beveled both pieces, then did an actual pass it would get better penetration and be stronger, this isn’t really a job for a stock welder, more of a MIG machine job.

Pre heat that metal it might hold better.

your weld has pits and lots of spatter because that blade was very unclean when you started, always be sure to clean your weld area thoroughly for neater welds. Also, you didnt sharpen the blade after "fixing" it.

If that worked & didnt snap on either side of the weld id be happy 4 ya as never has for me... not saying it would just did for me

With all that talking you were doing I missed the parts where you said what kind of rod you were using and explained why you rounded the corner off.

You can see the pores on the metal just from that first garbage pass. Could have at least cleaned the metal.
