Welcome to Patchwork Podcast
Австралия
Добавлен 24 май 2017
Have you ever wondered if it’s acceptable to bring food to someone's house and take it back home if no one has eaten it? Well if you have, then you’re in good company. Welcome to Patchwork is an Australian comedy podcast that thinks too hard about the monotony of life. By debating the obvious, challenging social conventions and improvising sketches, they’re more concerned about the crumbs than the cookie.

Patch 134 - Can You Handle Silence In Conversations?
We have wiped away the emotional cobwebs of the Depression Sessions and are ready for a little more unstructured fun. Christian picks up on Josh's brute force attempt to bring colour to the podcast before we both become self-conscious of our most overused phrases. We quickly move onto discussing workplace attire and some of the characters in our workplaces. Is there anything wrong with wearing an oodie to work? Is wearing a suit antiquated?
Christian reflects on the clever parenting technique his Mum employed to make him do a law degree while Josh reckons with how casually he has adjusted to an increase in spending to match his salary. We then grapple with the unfortunate reality that som...

Patch 133 - The Depression Sessions (Frankly Mr Chatly)
Просмотров 70Месяц назад
On a cold Monday night in August 2024, tired from just existing, Josh and Christian decided to record Patch 133, "The Depression Sessions" aka Frankly Mr Chatly. For any first time listeners, this is not the Patch for you. Christian and Josh reflect on winter and the sadness of realising that you're already half way through the year. Christian and Josh then exchange some stories from a night ou...
Patch 132 - Is Your Fridge Overflowing With Half Filled Jars? ft. Nelson Allingham
Просмотров 1742 месяца назад
Christian and Josh are joined in the Patchwork studio by the handsome and hilarious Nelson Allingham, host of the Read It On Reddit podcast. Christian welcomes Nelson by confessing that he often passively listens to his podcast while completing chores before tragically revealing that he prematurely retired one of his jumpers from rotation by wearing it to bed. Nelson sympathises and offers a co...
Patching Up With Dion in Fukuoka, Japan
Просмотров 572 месяца назад
While they were busy lining up the next Patchwork guest host, Christian and Josh decided to kill two birds with one stone and turned their long overdue catch up with Dion into content for the podcast. Through the miracle of "internet", Dion joins Christian and Josh in the studio to talk through some highlights from his trip including visiting an active volcano, repelling black bears with a bell...
Patch 131 - Where Does A Used Teaspoon Go? ft. Nat Harris

Nat is about to perform a replay of her Melbourne International Comedy Festival show "Lathered" at Comedy Republic on Tuesday July 16. Purchase tickets through the Comedy Republic website! We kick off the episode by fighting about who has a better 'natural' reading voice before Nat reveals that she bleeds...
Patch 130 - Do You Make Offers You Can't Keep? ft. Michael Campbell
Просмотров 2023 месяца назад
Michael "Cambo" Campbell of Cancelled Movie Report and Read It On Reddit joins Josh and Christian and is immediately attached for his nickname and the silent "p" in his surname. Don't we treat our guests well! Christian kicks off proceedings by asking Cambo and Josh what they would do if someone asked to grant them access to a building that required fob access. Would you let them in and then as...
Patch 129 - What's Your Approach To Taking A Sick Day? ft. Laura Dunemann
Просмотров 834 месяца назад
While Dion is away, the cats will play! And these cats have decided to invite veteran of the comedy scene and Patchwork's first ever repeat guest co-host, Laura Dunemann, onto the podcast! We kick off Patch 129 by making Christian feel more self conscious about his most recent Uniqlo purchase, an Arctic white turtleneck jumper. He's a Christmas rom-com cameo, he's exploring the Polar ice-caps a...

Patch 128 - What Are the Signs You've Overstayed Your Welcome?
Просмотров 505 месяцев назад
This Patch starts with Josh expressing concern over his own reaction to a message chain in the Patchwork thread. Christian and Dion can't hold back their pride for a Josh looking to grow and learn. We scratch the surface of Josh's brain and try to understand whether it's to react with frustration to a text message that is checking up on you. Is it harder than ever to interact with friends via m...
Patch 127 - Is A Sniff More Annoying Than A Cough?
Просмотров 375 месяцев назад
Christian is sick! He's sick and selfish. He begins the Patch by telling Josh and Dion about the poor decision he made to ride public transport while sick and the consequent pressure of having to 'cover up' his illness. After some light berating, we get to the heart of the matter, which is more annoying, a sniff? Or a cough? And what makes it annoying? The frequency? The sound? And do we dare d...
Patch 126 - Are You Ever Obliged To Give Up A Parking Spot?
Просмотров 495 месяцев назад
Christian found a fantastic parking spot opposite the church at his nephew’s christening but isn’t sure whether the spot should be reserved for immediate family. Dion quickly finds a parallel to another moment Christian found a premium parking spot on the day of his auction. Does the finders keepers rule apply to parking spots? Or should you be considerate of those who may need to spot more tha...
Patch 125 - Do You Confidently Slice Food In Half?
Просмотров 736 месяцев назад
Christian has finally found the elderly neighbours he’s been looking for and, typically, they came in the form of a bowl of tomatoes. Dion questions their motives and warns Christian by recounting the parable of his neighbour in sheep’s clothing. We then chat about rubbish collection and Josh laments finding a mystery coffee cup at the bottom of your freshly emptied bin. Are you confident when ...
Patch 124 - How Should You Subtly Glance At Someone?
Просмотров 1036 месяцев назад
Ohhhhh wow! We're back from 7 months off and we're out of practice. We kick off by recalling a micro highlight from our trips abroad: Christian visited a Christian themed amusement park, Dion visited a capybara themed amusement park for ducks and Josh watched a man interact with natural history. Christian starts the episode proper by lamenting his ability to casually organise an event. Are you ...
Patch 123 - How Should You Kill Time At A Chemist?
Просмотров 78Год назад
Christian receives a mysterious hand gesture from a concerned citizen but manages to decipher it. We also ponder the age old question - what's the difference between 'tips' and 'advice'? Christian's psych definitely got it wrong when asked about travel tips. This conversation devolves into Christian and Dion bullying Josh for having the audacity to talk to his friends about things that he is pa...

Patch 114 - When Do You Save Someone As A Contact?
I enjoyed this session too, love just hearing you guys chat. And its nice to hear two men talk about mental health so openly :)
This is maybe my favourite patchwork episode so far. Came all the way from spotify to leave a comment, despite what Josh may think of me. You guys have been one of my depression session distractions over the years. Christian, buy that weighted blanket. I've had one for several years now and the only danger I've identified is that it's difficult to sleep without it once you start. Not great when trying to travel light.
Thanks so much for the beautiful words and support! Hope you made it safely home from RUclips. If you have a weighted blanket recommendation, I'm very interested. I'm looking for a soft, cosy one that will not crush my ribcage during the night ... preferably with a range of colours to choose from... but definitely mostly the ribcage stuff. Christian.

Fun and interesting!
I've followed you boys from the start and love the podcast. Dingo was fabulous on this episode. xx
Thanks so much for the continued support Debbie! It was a lot of fun having Laura back especially because she was so complimentary to me! - Josh
This episode was so good 😂 Laura was a great guest and I was dying over the bare naked ladies part 😂
It's Been ... 8 days since you wrote to us! Thank you for the lovely words.
Thank you for the beautiful content. Makes me smile and brings happiness to my day.
Thanks so much for listening and supporting us. You have made 3 anxious men momentarily happy but then very quickly question whether they'll ever be truly happy. Christian xo
Velcom back boys!
Muchas gracias Lisa! (responding in another language to remind everyone I've recently travelled). Christian xo

You boys are absolute legends, shame to hear you’re on a break but understandable. Enjoy the nuances of everyday life away from patchwork. Looking forward to seeing you all again soon. Thanks for 6 years of laughs and good times.
Thanks Michael, very kind words. Here's hoping Christian will just get an absolute bucket load of content from his travels. Then we'll be set for the next 6 years!
@@WelcometoPatchwork I can't wait! I hope to see you guys up in Brisbane sometime. Take care!
Beautiful boys 🥰
This is my absolute favourite reply. I will never tire of seeing it anywhere.
What the hell is this 😂
The kangaroo, didn’t know where to find the loo The kangaroo, didn’t know where to find the loo
The nice room. Gotta love you Nanna
You should have a vehicle-scale and a residue scale for ff. The vehicle scale determines how well it commutes from plate to face (structural integrity, size, consistency). The residue scale determines how clean your hands are after eating and the probability of a spill. My strat is to use chopsticks for anything that isn't structurally sound or has a high residue. Which i guess loses the status of finger food as much as a napkin.
Holy shit - THIS is the kind of analysis we need on the show!!!
Dejour jeans are my favourite party food
Wedding food is always a disappointment
I feel like you must be the authority here, Mr Snacklad. What's your top rated finger food at a wedding?
...is this really worth making a clip
When THIS is the most exciting part of the podcast… lmao
@@Jack-yg6gj how mad are those weddings though! Who needs nose beers when they got hot chips!!
just make small, medium, large serving for everything
Great chat but sad to see no one suggested just taking the platter… maybe I’ve been doing it wrong.
Yeah I do yearly prepaid too. Just the one payment, then forget about it till next year ...
I actually just recharged and it's nice knowing it averages out to like $14 a month and I don't have to worry at all for another 12 months. I can rest easy.
Guy on the right sounds like MaxMoeFoe
Do you have a particular clip you rekon captures Dion's likeness?
Ok
Prepaid simcard is the best. I know alot of people that have debt because of post paid plan.
It's cheaper.
First
they were the worst if u had a dry mouth!!
Those things were probably causing cancerous shit lmao
Rumor was you could put a whole pack in your mouth and beat a booze bus drug test
so weird that this come up on my feed. I was wondering the same thing just last week. Google now reading my thoughts.. mmmmmm
hahaa same actually..was looking for them instore but they weren't in stock -just mouth sprays
Shit this podcast doesn't seem like a pile of crap
Basil. That shit has taken over every garden I've made, which is about 3.
Parsley grows like a FUCKING WEED!?!?
This isn't funny at all. Three effeminate clowns laughing at inane crap isn't funny.
As someone with ADHD, "remind me about x" usually is a lot more crucial than for a neurotypical person, cuz I will 1000% forget without help :'D
Asking someone to remind you of something makes you a normal 'type of person', blaming you if they forget is frustrating, but its equally frustrating when someome pretends the act of asking for help or a reminder is a bad thing. Truly bizarre and bad take. Great clip none the less.
They get told to stand there and look at the number of items the receipt says were purchased and the date. Beyond that they can’t do anything a store manager is able to have you banned from the store.
So turns out Christian was pretty much spot on! For once, our complete ignorance on a topic actually turns out to be accurate! Let this newfound confidence carry on with us for the next few patches at least.
Queen Lizzie
It’s a brand new old model I guess
If they can't handle at your wackiest they don't deserve you at your workiest
BRB just updating my profile pic to a photo of me standing over a subway vent
Amazing video!
"Dion's Factoring in..." - Very good from Christian.
And I thought this was funny and surprised that I was the first one to comment and second person to like
Wow hilarious😑
This sucks, go for something else
That's not even funny
