Goodness Jay there’s so much here I don’t know where to start! I’m grateful to hear that the “One More Question” video helped you see clearer on the question of whether or not Keith would have gotten caught up in the crossover world. I really don’t think he would have because he was an evangelist too and had charge of Last Days Ministries. Without doubt he was a spiritual pillar in his time - and beyond. It is true (as you sensed) that I’m a minister. I was never a pastor but I was a Navy chaplain for 22 years.I attended college between 1979 and 1982 - the window of Keith’s popularity before and during his passing. It was hard to take but I never forgot his music and its influence on me. After years of backsliding myself, his music became part of my listening experience again. Like you, I started IFB too. All of what you said about them was true as I experienced it as well. I had a number of years where I made my own calls, so to speak. But each time things crashed down, sought the Lord and He rescued me. I agree with you that there is much amiss about the church in this time. The seriousness that should be in the pulpit has become flippancy with “preachers” who don’t know God. But I believe I’m in the right place at this time spiritually and I can’t leave the Lord who loved me and gave Himself for me. Yes I’m a dude now and back in civilian life :D I didn’t go into a ton of details about specifics on Keith Green in the Garden Valley Cemetery video because I had created three videos prior that discussed those things. I can tell you about the peace I felt at his grave that day. It seemed supernatural and I didn’t want to leave the cemetery - I’ve never felt a peace like it. I wondered if it was the type of peace in heaven. But I had to get back on the road to continue my eastward journey. Again I appreciate your reaching out and having a great conversation with me. RevanJJ thank you for watching my video and it’s wonderful to see that this review continues to be watched and provides positive info for people as they search for the best study Bibles! In reference to your question on QR codes, i bought the Reformation Study Bible not long ago after it was published. It did not have QR codes in it at that time - it might today, but I’m not sure of that. I do know that the Jeremiah Study Bible has QR codes in it. I demonstrated some of those on my video review titled, “Outside the Book Innovation.” Some of those codes didn’t work when I created the video, but the JSB has been updated since then, so I imagine they work now. I would say that you have an excellent study Bible in the MacArthur Study Bible. The Ref Study Bible probably has similar focus and teaching as both are Calvinistic in orientation. I do not have the Life Principles Bible but if I had my choice, I purchase Charles Stanley’s edition because it brings a different perspective over the other two. With study Bibles, it’s good to get a mix of the versions. You think about that and I totally say you can’t go wrong with either. Blessings and thank you again for watching. - Ron

If you had to choose on a shoe string budget would you grab the giant Reformation Bible or the Jeremiah one? Thanks for your videos. They help keep me in the Word.

@@RevanJJ thank you for responding again and appreciate your question here. I have both the JSB and the RSB and give a pretty clear winner for me on this. I’d choose the Reformation Study Bible because it’s far more comprehensive and detailed than the Jeremiah Study Bible. Don’t get me wrong, the JSB is very good. It is focused on teaching and personal spiritual growth- a Sunday school teacher would benefit greatly from it, or someone who wants to learn and grow from the application perspective. The RSB gives you everything in its notes from context to historical information and many great illustrations, among other learning tools. Hope that helps! Blessings- Ron

@@RevanJJ Love the reply, but you really can’t go wrong with either. Study Bibles are like tools. Each has a different focus and purpose for their existence. In the end, they all fulfill some existing need. Ones like the RSB, the ESV Study Bible (which I think is the best of all of them), and the Christian Standard Study Bible are the best ones that come close to filling all check marks of what you desire from a premium study Bible. I hope you gain much from the RSB!!

Greetings Jay and Yes I do get to see and respond to comments on my channel and always welcome them! I greatly appreciate your heartfelt and thoughtful response to my video. It’s been a common theme for people to respond to my four Keith Green videos in similar fashion about the huge spiritual impact he left on our lives. My journey in the faith continues and I want you to know i certainly understand what you are communicating in reference to the failing situation with the evangelical church today. The question you ask about whether he would have remained as he was or have gotten caught up in a similar mess that exists today, I somewhat explored that question in my third Keith Green video, it’s titled “Keith Green: About that Secular Music Question.” It’s had a good number of watches and comments - it may help you get a better feel where he would have stood. I know Melody has stayed solid through the years. Also, Keith Green knew of the corruption in the newly formed CCM world back in the 1970s - what things have become would not have surprised him. It just got worse as the years have gone by, especially after the “industry” exiled Steve Camp and Michael Card in the 1990s. Be encouraged - in spite of failed leadership out there today, there are still many faithful and true to the path our Savior will have us to walk. I hope and pray the inspiration of Keith’s music, the Word, and a softened heart for you will bring you back as we look for Christ’s return, maybe in our time. I thought for sure that my comment would just disappear somewhere in cyberspace where someone else might stumble across it months or years from now. Technology amazes me. I want to thank you for the time you gave to both reading my comment and responding to it. I don't know what it was about your video that prompted me to comment. I very seldom respond to videos except to hit a like button. It might have been that I sensed that you held the same high regard for Keith that I did, and still do have for him, though I haven't listened to his music in many years. This isn't because I lost interest in it, but I didn't want to continue being reminded of a life that I left behind. I'll watch your other videos of him if I can find them. As I mentioned in my original comment, I'm not someone who understands much about youtube. I only recently created my account, but what a journey it's been in such a short time. I'll be sure to comment on it if I find it so that you'll know I was successful in my search. I was intrigued by your statement about Steve Camp and Michael Card. I don't think I know Steve Camp, or if I do, I don't recognize the name. I have heard of Michael Card. I'm pretty sure I even went to a concert of his back in the day. I remember a couple of songs by him. I'm not sure what the names are, but one says tell the world that Jesus loves you and the other was a song that Joseph was wondering how the baby he was holding was the Son of God. I can't imagine why these songs caused him to be exiled. Maybe I'll find a youtube video to tell me. 🙂

If you listened to CCM in the 1990s, you heard Steve Camp and I’m sure you would remember some songs like “He’s All You Need,” “He Covers Me,” “Don’t Tell Them Jesus Loves Them,” “Run to the Battle,” among others - easy to find on Spotify. He was kind of a Keith Green after Keith. He is the one who wrote the 107 Theses (not 109) calling for Reformation of the CCM industry. Instead of reforming, they tossed him aside. CCM has been one of the main cogs in the erosion of evangelical Christianity in this country, along with the terrible leadership we endure now. But remember, there are still many good and faithful ones around - they’re just a minority now unfortunately. Yes, Michael Card is the one who sang the Joseph song you referred to. He also was sang “El Shaddai” (was the writer of the song before Amy Grant became famous from it). Also, “Joy in the Journey,” “Come to the Table,” “God’s Own Fool,” “The Final Word,” among many other great songs. His “Joy in The Journey” album was one of the best of its time. I do hope you’ll take a step back and listen to the these three incredible and truly believing artists. It’s ok to come back to the faith as Jesus waits for us with open arms. You’re on to something. As time went on, Keith developed such a close relationship with our Lord that there was almost a sense that God would call him home early. When the Lord led him away from creating an album with secular artists and create a worship album (Songs for the Shepherd) in its place, I have little doubt that was a direct act of God’s providence for what would lie ahead. I appreciate you’re watching Don. I believe the motivation of the group or individual artist has much to do with how effective the ministry work will be. People like Keith and Rich Mullins weren’t in it for the money and entertainment. They were there for ministry first. This is why there are so many still affected spiritually and souls saved because they did ministry were and got the gospel focus right in their concerts and songs. Much of today’s CCM is hollow and has mostly artists who are there for other reasons than ministry in my view. You’re not gonna win people with shallow songs.

@@2daysd I have all of Keith's albums. I'm a fan. But if we are being honest, he did not reach very many of the lost with his music. It was music for Christians. And that's OK.

@@brittanymiller3122 Thank you for your question and so appreciate your watching. The answer is easy. Anyone who supports critical race theory and says the gospel is a race issue is woke. The gospel is about sinners under conviction answering a calling to come to faith and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior through repentance. Anything added to that is adding to the gospel and disqualifies this man from any conservative Baptist pulpit. He also stated that we are all born racists. Certainly there are many problems with that as you would have to accuse us of every sin in that case. The Convention clearly once again selected the wrong man to lead it. He should be immediately removed based on his teaching a false gospel. There’s plenty of video evidence out there that demonstrates who he is on the spiritual level. I’d say he’s a lost man.

However, in the middle of his planning the secular route, the he sensed the Lord leading him to produce a worship album, from which we were gifted with “Songs for the Shepherd” and he went home to be with the Lord shortly after that. We’ll never really know the answer to my question, but sadly we have seen a horrible trend in our times what has taken place with some of these artists who started out Christian and became virtual (if not real) pagans not long after tasting that world. It is important for us to have separation from the world. Wisdom and seeking God’s direction is vital and thankfully Keith did that. “Songs” remains a gem and classic.

Andy Stanley’s behavior and false teachings go way beyond what you describe above. When anyone begins to shed the doctrine and priority of inspiration of Scripture, the dominos begin to fall from there and North Point’s issues have made even impossible to describe this as a church. It’s a complex with a social gathering now. He’s been called out for his errors by true Christians theologians and willingly set their admonition aside (Al Mohler, John MacArthur, Denny Burk, among others). And immoral relationships are allowed in the church and yet on the other hand he tries to say the complexes doctrine is marriage between a man and a woman. Sorry, you can’t have that both ways. I encourage you to depart. The candlestick from this place was removed a long time ago when you examine what’s happening there with the early chapters of Revelation. Your analogy above was itself too narrow and doesn’t cover the complexity of the direction he’s leading this congregation. I truly encourage you to go to First Baptist and you’ll learn the true faith according to Scripture.

Andy says he loves the Easter story itself and choose to ignore or make optional the rest of Scripture that got us there to need a crucifixion and resurrection to save us from our SIN. He is grossly deficient intentionally on the Easter story and it’s leaving a wake of spiritual shipwreck for many who follow his false teaching. I love the resurrection too. But I love the cross and the blood that was shed to wash away my sin and make me right with God through Jesus Christ our Lord. This Andy does NOT teach. Mark and avoid him. Listen to Anthony George from First Baptist Atlanta. He gets the gospel right.

A book incidentally, that was complied 200 years after Jesus rose from the dead.

It is a fact that Andy Stanley has degraded the doctrine of the inspiration of Scripture and that is where his own fall began. He has openly denounced this doctrine and the evidence is out there on many other discerners’ videos where you can see them for yourself. He even did this at his former seminary as well. They should have removed him during his talk. Andy does not preach. He “communicates.” As I said, he’s not a theologian and you only underscore my point on that since he clearly tickles your ears. Again, I grieve for you as you are not saved or you would be sold out for Jesus Christ and not be hanging onto things are aren’t biblically true, such as evolution because Andy said it was ok for you to believe that. Well, denying creation is denying the inspiration of scripture. And true believer love and believe the Word of God over what any man who would call himself a preacher would say. By the way, Jesus affirmed the creation story. He affirmed Noah’s story, and he also affirmed Jonah as well. You should read your Bible more than you listen to Andy and you’ll know the truth then, because he’s not teaching it. I encourage you to repent, surrender to Christ and receive Him as your only Lord and Savior. I would also encourage you to head south to First Baptist Atlanta where there is a Bible-believing pastor who preaches the truth as it is in Scripture. Not one like Andy who makes it optional on what you want to believe. Come to the cross, deny yourself and follow Jesus. The fact that you rebel against the truth shows you are outside the true faith. Only receiving Christ through repenting of your sins and coming by way of the cross, our blessed and only hope (1 Cor 15:3-8; Acts 17:30-31). There is no biblical defense for what Andy is doing. I love and actually read my Bible daily for over 40 years. I recognize false teaching when i hear and/or read it. You have been led astray. I hope and pray the Spirit of God will awaken you to the truth and call you to the true faith in Christ alone. As Jonathan Edwards said, the only thing you contribute to your salvation is the sin that necessitated it. It’s also your sins and mine that put Jesus on the cross. (John 3:16; Rom 5:8). Think and reflect on these things as Good Friday approaches next week.

@@2daysd Hi. Sorry for appear to be rude. Wasn’t my intention. However, it’s rude of people to called Andy a false teacher in the first place. The fruits of the Spirit are:- Gentleness, patience, kindness, & Self Control. - the people who make nasty videos about him obviously arnt doing what God wants are they. It’s rude to even begin to make a video criticising another pastor. These people obviously don’t use their Fruits, or Jesus’s most important command, love the Lord, your, God. Love your neighbour as yourself etc.

I appreciate your taking time to watch my video and sharing your thoughts. I do significantly vary from your view, however, due to Andy’s departure of belief in inerrancy, infallibility and authority of Scripture. His view of Inspiration and that ALL of Scripture is God-breathed has become corrupted, as anyone’s view would be when one downgrades these and makes them a matter of personal preference. Andy Stanley specializes in being an effective communicator who basically says what people want to hear. He is not a theologian and his inspiration for the path he’s on came from attending an atheist talk to college students a few years back (there are many videos out there that show own testimony to this fact). You put your own soul in jeopardy if you continue under his domain. I encourage you to watch my other videos in my series about Andy Stanley as they work together to demonstrate his doctrinal deficiencies and that he should not be in any evangelical pulpit. As a side note, when Albert Mohler called Andy out about his heterodox teaching on Inspiration of Scripture, Andy didn’t take on the topic to defend or give any biblical reasons for what he was selling to his congregation. He said instead that he didn’t subscribe to Al Mohler’s version of Christianity and shooed the subject off. Let me remind you that there is only ONE version of true Christianity. Andy’s response was unacceptable and should immediately disqualify him from any form of evangelical ministry. It was a horrific response. But this is false teacher who you have chosen to listen to. I grieve for you and others trapped by the cunning of a false teacher.

I don’t, & Andy doesn’t think he is God, like many of your kinds of Pastors do. Not saying he’s correct about every single thing, but who is?? I know he brought me back to Jesus, when I was going through a hard time on my Science course. Which is more than people like you would. He reaffirmed my belief that you can still be Christian & believe in modern science & evolution. Our church is closing now. In the 70’s & 80’s it was thrithing. Packed to the rafters. It’s just like Andy says about the Gap God & anti science God. I know so many from our church who were led to believe, they have to interpret the Genesis story literally, or not at all. So they thought,... if can’t believe it all, I better not believe anything. So ended up leaving. What’s that got to do with Jesus? What has being interested in astronomy or cosmology, inflation theory. Universe evolution or even human evolution Etc. Got to do with your faith in Jesus ??? Nothing. Yet they were under the impression they couldn’t be proper Christians. To be fair not many in our church suggested this, but it’s just the way they were made to feel. I know people in the world. Non Christian friends who think Andy is just another one of those American preachers, Bible Basher. I tell them he’s not. It’s hard convincing them though. How do u account for that?? Not saying he’s correct about everything, but he believes in the old & new covenants & loves the Easter Story. Isn’t that good enough for you? BTW. Where are your Fruits. Can I remind u that one in Self control. Meaning restraint for calling people false or make nasty videos. Can I remind you also, that in Europe in the reign of Mary 1st. If you didn’t convert to Catholicism, you too would be called False & a Heretic.

This will be my final response to you and I’m grateful for your replies though they have been rude and not well thought out in some areas. I can forgive that. First, real Christians who actually realize the divine supernatural light of salvation actually love and believe all that Scripture teaches and what to anxiously learn about it and grow. This is unlike what Andy told you that you can hang on to your own ways and bring false fruit to your “salvation” experience. That’s false teaching. You bring your sin to the cross, repent, and believe and receive Christ - then go forth and follow HIm. Andy was wrong. And your soul is still in the balance. 2) Any church that calls itself a church would never have a band come in and play the Led Zeppelin song “Stairway to Heaven.” Anyone who knows anything about Rock Music knows this song was written about the Tower of Babel (yes that place the Bible talks about in Genesis 11 not too far off from creation). It was a song about the occult and the lead singer of LZ, Robert Plant believes in black magic and bought arch satanist Robert Crowley’s home years ago. This was done as a “call to worship). HIDEOUS! This is not a church. It’s a complex led by a deceiver. And yes, I watched it and what Andy said afterward was inexcusable and disgusting. I would call on you to leave there and find a true Bible-believing church where the Word of God is faithfully preached (I recommend First Baptist Atlanta to you). We don’t have to know all of Scripture to come to faith in Christ - I was 11 years old but I knew I was lost and had to be saved. The Spirit of God called me, I asked Jesus to forgive me and save me. I’m still here and having been in the ministry for years, I don’t know all the fruit I’ve born, but I just do the best I can to do what He calls us to do and the best place to learn that is by reading the Word of God daily and being part of a true Bible believing fellowship. Andy said he does not hold the same “version” of Al Mohler’s definition of biblical Christianity. That should tell you right now to RUN from that church. There is only ONE version of biblical Christianity and how we are saved, along with how to live this Christian life. Flee while you have opportunity.

@@2daysd Hi. Sorry if I appeared rude That wasn’t my intention. It came at the end of many comments, trying to reason with Creationist Fundamentals, which I am not one. I’m a Christian who believes in evolution. Inflation theory of the universe etc. Andy likes to bridge the Gap between the rest of the world & organised religion. Which is something I’ve always tried to do. People aren’t all the same, they have seen different things with religion. A friend used to be in the Mormons. Another JW. I’ve always gone to Christian churches. Many CE but I went to an evangelical church for many years. I have friends who think Andy himself is “ One of those American Preachers “. Andy still believes in the old & new Testaments, & loves the Easter Story. Isn’t that good enough.?? Every church has a slightly different take on certain aspects. I go to to a Christian group called the gatherers. People from many different denominations there. Some non Christians who are just seeking, we don’t want to put them off, so they will turn away. Some many have turn away from Organised religion, due to think they have to be completely with them, or not at all. It’s bad enough with physical building anyway. Many don’t pluck up enough courage to walk thru the door, can u blame Andy for trying to make it as inviting possible. Blessings. Martin

I have to say I’ve read amazing stories many have shared on this videos series on Keith Green and I really got teary eyed and was speechless after reading your sharing above. It’s so amazing how after whatever number of years after Keith’ homegoing to be with Jesus that so many continue to be touched by his life and ministry in print and music to this day. I visited his grave in Lindale TX in December 2023 and I have a video up about it. Even there something special happened to me. So much I could hardly leave the site. I do not grave soak, but being there and saying “thank you” and even sharing some stories at his gravesite was very special. God bless you and thank you for watching.
