The child pokes it with a finger with a curious glint in their eyes. “What is this thing?” They ask their Mother. The Mother peers down at it and shrugs dismissively, “I don’t know. The teenager stares at the egg in disbelief. “So, I’ve wasted my time?” The egg doesn’t respond. The teenager raises a fist but soon drops it in defeat. They sigh and sit by the egg quietly. “I’ll wait some more, but you have to come out soon. You hear?” To no one’s surprise, the egg does not respond. Every day since, they would ask the egg: ‘Are you done yet?’ More years pass. The Teenager has now grown into a Young Adult. They still continue the tradition and meet the egg. “Well?” There was no response. “Are you done yet?” The Young Adult stares at the egg intently. The egg’s body turns into a slit and opens as if it were a mouth. “Shut up.” The Young Adult stares in disbelief, “What?” “Shut. Up.” Their brows crease slightly, “…What do you…?” “Let me get to know time.” “You don't!” “I do.” “How?” The egg cackles, “Time has told me to wait so that i can get back home, especially.” “Where’s home?” “Far.” “Can I help you with this?” “Waiting?” “Yes.” “And if my time never comes?” “I would have loved and admired your very presence.” “And if it does?” “I wouldn’t stop you from going your own way, But I’d love to travel with you.” The egg stays silent. It jumps onto the Young Adult’s hand. The Young Adult raises it to their shoulder and it jumps on. The Adult smiles, “I guess we should wait!” “Or we could grow together. Wouldn’t that be a wonderful thought and taker of time?”

CATALYST FOR ? I am said to be a Catalyst in my own healing. I am said to be bound by my spirit to help others. Yet when I need the catalyst for my own preservation, how can I inquire about it? No remorse for those oppressed; sent me letters to a body that was under distress. NO ONE could love you if you choose this threat in our eyes, they don’t reflect. You couldn’t have stopped, could you. So now it boils down to how you talk, how you walk, hiding behind a facade that can’t ever be wiped off. And if it was, what would that mean? These negative self talks? Yes. They preserve me. The comfort is something I have always known, always held me back into my own bones, i can’t ever call it what it is because how can this be it? Oh… the sounds… it makes. What sounds does it make? It sounds like the only kid who is different for all the right reasons to themself, but wrong to others. It sounds like waking up to a ringing bell dismissing a student to the next class. They hate that they missed a lesson, but never care enough to figure out a solution to keep focused. It sounds like a condition upon conditions. An “I love you” but only if you act a certain way, look a certain way, or try to change you to fit their mold. It sounds like hating your body not because something is wrong with it; no one but you can see all the flaws and afflictions done to it. It sounds like a musical note so familiar that, though you can’t place where you heard it from, you know that it keeps you stuck in a loop. It sounds like forgetting your essence. Letting emotions determine your mood. Your views of struggle, yet struggle is not the word because how can you struggle? You’ve had better living conditions. Their living conditions were much worse. It sounds like standing in the rain, but water droplets won’t fall. Not only are you in a desert, you hardly remember why you are there. Let alone how you got there. This is the negative talk that runs rampant. Not even the fullest of phrases could comprehend the pervasive nature of words thrown at you. You heard it, you think it, you say it. It is… You. The catalyst for this has always been You.

I don’t know what kind of trauma you went though. I can say that the trauma I went though, the abuse from my dad and his eventual death, is possible for me to channel it into something positive. It’s just fucking difficult. No great person in life has had an easy life is my view.
