Maiden Flight of the RC Super Tucano
These are raw clips from my cellphone, of me flying my new RC plane.
It's the 1.6m Avios Super Tucano from HobbyKing. It flew amazing, once I got it trimmed out and added some expo. So, enjoy the video!
Unfortunately I forgot to bring my GoPro and it's accessories. So this video won't be apart of the typical "RC Planes Vlog" series that I normally upload.

In this Vlog, I bring out brand new Phoenix Model F4U Corsair for it's maiden flight, but it doesn't go so well. So we try to figure out the problem is! Later in the video, we fly our other planes: The E-Flite Ultimate 3d, HobbyZone Carbon Cub S2, and a P-51 Mustang. And out of nowhere, we get an unexpected visitor, buzzing at high-speed over the airfield!

I bring my new Phoenix Model J-3 Piper Cub to a new airfield for it's first maiden flight. I spent some time at the field assembling the aircraft, tinkering around, doing checks, and waiting for the a lull in the wind. However, the wind did not improve and so I decided to pack up perform the flight another day.

I conducted the maiden flight of my newest RC model airplane: the FMS A-10 Thunderbolt II V2. However, things went wrong when the jet got airborne and I found out that the aileron controls were moving in the wrong direction! I attempt to circle back multiple times and land with the reversed controls, but after failing multiple attempts, I end up ditching into a bush!

What’s the update on it?
The plan is to put a bigger engine on it, in addition to a bigger prop. Haven't gotten around to it yet! I barely just picked up the new engine mount. Once I get it installed, I'll take it back out to the field, I'm expecting that I'll be able to fly it, and hopefully make a good video out of it!

I’d like to guess that it kept stalling, maybe that it’s a bit tail heavy with that pitch sensitivity and it stalled repeatedly going past critical aoa.. maybe it was the extra throw unlocked? Let that tail rise at least and work the rudder before applying back pressure. Food for thought, I’m no pro
@@Twissted-RC After I got home and rewatched the video, I drew a pretty similar conclusion! I feel like it might be a combination of not only being a little underpowered, but also applying a little *too* much elevator at such a slow speed... I guess after we solved the first problem of not having enough elevator, we got the opposite problem, and with the plane barely getting off of the ground in the first place, all of the holes in the swiss cheese just kind of lined up 🤣
@@Diygary aye! Mentor pilot fan lol. I don’t like the idea of being underpowered even though it’s more scale. I prefer the thrust to get out of any situation but that’s me. Well good luck on the next attempt

Prop size based on ground clearance, stand on the runway why pilot boxes, wind not air speed keeps it up and continuously talking to the pilots?

What Engine was in your T-6? I have the same plane with a OS-91 FS. I’ve had it for years with lots of flights. Sorry for your loss. Great flying airplane

Lots and lots of walking.
ALWAYS CHECK everything : ailerons, elevator, rudders, flaps, etc.... BEFORE TO FLY.

Yeah...It's crazy how many sweets there are in there lol. I expected a lot of the stuff to be processed just because of how much food they've gotta pack into that tiny pouch, and have it stored un-refridgerated...But I was definitely surprised at how much sugar was in there😆

Has anyone figured out how to use the reverse thrust with a Spektrum ??
You're not gonna be able to do it with a Spektrum receiver alone, it requires a specific type of ESC. I've set it up on one of my planes (my E-Flite F-16 80mm). It's not hard, the "Avian Smart ESC" has a forward programming menu that allows you to do it. You can look it up on google.
@@Diygary Looks like false advertising to me. The Banana hobby build video and the instructing book say nothing about needing different ESCs than what comes in the plane.
@@drmrjon Sorry, I didn't realize this plane came with a reverse-capable ESC. I never programmed it into mines. However after looking more into this, looks like there's some instructions on pages 15/16 for programming the ESC. With those, you should be able to set up reverse thrust.

It was hard to tell how much control the pilot had vs what the simulator was doing. It looked like you're "slaved" to the simulator.
Really? When I re-watch the video, it does look like the aircraft movements corresponded to the stick movements (on the right) to me.
You control everything so you can choose what to do like not just buttons but a full joystick to control yawn everything you have full control.
