@@francoisarseneault3142 Woooow, at 80 years old... riding a Honda 750, so incredible! Your kind words totally lifted my spirits for the upcoming ride, so heartfelt, I really look up to your spirit. I was from a poor Chinese family, as you can see in this episode, but education opened doors for me, giving me the freedom to see the world. Now being around lots of wealthy colleagues, it used to make me feel stressed, but motorcycling lets me view life from a different perspective. The people I meet, the remote places I go, and the cultures I encounter all remind me that happiness isn't about wealth. Happiness can be so close, just somewhere around the corner in our life. Being simple and not rich can be just as happy. BTW, I've met some amazing elderly riders on this journey, and I admire them as much as I admire you. I hope that when I'm older, I can still ride like you.

Well, very good suggestion! kinda complicated, it requires a local guide to travel in Tibet for foreigners. For me, that way is no meaning regarding the freedom of riding motorcycle, cannot camp, cannot cook, cannot stop as I like, etc. Foreigners can be a solo traveller for rest regions, such as Western Sichuan, also stunning, I think it's even better compared with Tibet to some kind. Also the inner Mongolia, very beautiful. Foreigners can rent a bike at a store, very cheap, as long as you skip the Himalayas (Tibet) regions. I plan to edit one as you suggested when I finish this series.😊

to add, you can't ride anywhere in China unless you have a Chinese driving license. I don't think you can get one as a visitor

From the info I know, some foreigners enter from Thailand, buy bikes there, and some agencies run such businesses. But they need a local guide to visit China with motorcycle. The riding route seems to be fixed (Tibet, 318 route or partly 219 border route that closes to India, Nepal, and Pakistan), and the insurance is included, so the price isn't cheap at all. And freedom is limited in some way, because you have to follow the team. One solution is to get a license here, easy. One Egyptian friend got that in 20 days, then buy a bike here, explore the country yourself. Way cheaper and more freedom. I subscribed a Russian rider, who got a motorbike here in China and ride/camp with it himself.

@@MrBikercat Benelli 702. Some provinces think it’s dangerous to let motorcycles in, both for motorcyclists and for car drivers. Or maybe the real reason is that the head of the traffic office in that province just hates motorcycles! 😂 It’s complicated, but one can still ride, just know there’s a chance he or she might get fined.

@@peterlennan Thank You, my friend. It was legal when I got on in Guizhou, but it wasn't when I was in Sichuan, different province, different policies. National level allows that, though. China's Expressway is like a mesh, once on, can be everywhere. BTW, the electronic devices are useful in high altitude regions, lol.

While there is no universal ban at the national level, many provinces have their own regulations that prohibit motorcycles on expressways. Some provinces allow that, some don't. Here the motorcycle culture is kinda different with western norms, and riding motorcycle in China can be dangerous, especially in mountainous regions, the elevated expressway can be more than 100 meters high to the ground surface, and windy. Additionally, some car drivers don't follow the rules, also contribute one of the reasons for so many cameras on the roads.
