As a coach to jr high girls, my opinion is that this coach was making her kids do things they weren't ready for. Their technique wasn't correct even on the prep libs, they had no business going to extension. Some coaches will prioritize winning and maxing out score sheets over their team's safety and correct technique progression, and it's unfortunately really common. As competitive as I am and as much as I want to win, I would never risk the wellbeing of someone's kids to do it. There's injuries from accidents, and then there's this level of irresponsibility, smh.

At basketball games when we cheer and do our traditional routine we don’t have mats but at practices we do so it depends on what the situation is

Middle school cheer doesn’t usually start until 7th grade where I live. 🤭 But who knows

I agree when the flyer isn’t squeezing it can become very dangerous! especially when your not on a mat or spring floor and doing that level of stunts! Our coaches would NOT be happy with us if our flyer looked that loose at a competition or preformance!

Let people have their own opinions. Also, I’d like to see you try and be on a Elite Junior level 2 team. I think that flyer could’ve done a lot better considering she’s barely doing anything.

Amberlyn Garcia If you know what you were doing and you knew that the flyer was horrible and that she should’ve locked her legs throughout the whole routine sometimes you need constructive criticism to get better

I was thinking the same. Cheerleaders have many stunts they have to do, if no mate is included many injuries can occur.

Bc when they are performing and games they won’t have a mat smh every cheerleader knows that

they now require mats. it honestly depends on the school and state. that’s why kids are taught how to catch if someone falls
