Tentative transcription. Interviewer: Josh welcome, how are you? Josh: I'm great man, how are you? Interviewer: Fine thank you, I'm very excited because after the lockdown you're coming to the PalNorte festival 2023 here in Monterrey. Josh, how did you receive these news? Josh: Well, it was kind of... you know, the most unique circumstances that we've ever come to play a gig. It was kind of sort of a very sort of last minute thing. I feel like Tyler and I were [missing information] in the middle of being home and kind of working on music. I was, to be honest with you it was getting to the point I was really missing playing shows. So, the oportunity came up and Tyler and I had a very quick conversation. "You wanna go do this?" and we were both just like "we gotta go do it!". Interviewer: Latinoamérica is very excited about your shows, what can we expect from your show? Josh: Well, you can expect I think high energy, also kinda just like you know, a fresh excitement of playing a show again. Because [missing] it's been a while since the end of last year that we've played a show. So i think, I know that you know when we come out fresh and we havent played in a while, there's this kind of.. it feels like the same as how it always feels to play a show but also like just slightly new or different because we haven't played in a while so I think there's some of that energy that we'll have when we play this. Interviewer: The mexican fans have so many energy in the shows. Josh we read on the internet several things that you ask for your dressing room, for example that you ask for utensils to cook your own food. It's very interesting and curious. We didn't notice because on stage we know you're pure energy. Josh, what strange or curious things are happening in the backstage at twenty one pilots? Josh: Hahahah that's a good question, what interesting things happen backstage. Hmm you know, I would say there's a lot of consistency? and kind of an even and calmed energy backstage for the most part. Because i think you know, when you're traveling a lot.. specially in the middle of tour... there are routines that you do, I think if there's like a sort of practice drum kit backstage, then i'll be playing. But if I go over to Tyler's room there's a good chance there's some videogames happening... like two or three guys playing videogames pretty competitively so sometimes i'll just go over there and maybe jump on a videogame or just watch for pure entertainment and that's as crazy as it gets backstage usually. Interviewer: Awesome, that's very interesting. Josh if you were an espectator and twenty one pilots were your favorite band, what would you say? [missing info sorry]. Josh: well, the interesting thing is that's happened to me before because i actually have seen sort of twenty one pilots as a band before I was in the band. There used to be another drummer, a good friend of mine, he was the one who invited me up to the show. I went to the show and I was like, this is so.. this is awesome. Something that i want to be a part of so I think the thing that i thought at a show was that I [missing]. I was up there. And then fast forward year-year and a half and Tyler and I were great friends and were in a band together. And that's something that we had talked about for a long time and it was so cool and exciting to, you know, be a part of something with somebody who.. you know, we both like wanted the same thing. We had the same goals and dreams and visions musically and it all lined up... but anyway i guess that's not the real answer to your real question. I think we had the same line of thinking, we both think about that question a lot, even now. And specially writing an album we're so focused on the live show that it's fun to kind of just put ourselves in the audience. "What would we want if we were on the other side if we were watching us on the stage". What kind of things would be interesting to see or what kind of songs would you want to hear us perform. So, i think a lot of times that's helpful when.. even just putting a show together or writing an album. And we're always answering that question. It's always something to [fill up? i didn't understand]. Interviewer: wow, what words. Josh, now that you're coming to latinoamerica, have you thought about collaborating with a latin artist? Josh: well, it's tipically not something that we do that much, we're not you know, we're not a big collaborating band. I think that in terms of collaboration i think it's always felt to us like it would just be something that.. something really organic that kinda happens through a sort of friendship or some sort of relationship that it just feels, you know, really right about that. So, if that was ever the case and something kinda came up that just felt really organic, and right and fit creatively and stylistically, then i think that it would be super fun and cool to do. I am pretty sure my worst nightmare is tyler and Josh actually having a big explosion from pent up frustration and it causes them to split..I kinda got triggered when they started saying what was their last fight about..I pray that it never happens, I mean it just seems like they’re so in sync with each other constantly how could they fight about anything
