TRD Pro 4Runners retain their value unlike anything else. If you bought a new one and financed it you could almost consider your payments as deposits into a savings account for your next vehicle, because very little of it is being eaten up by depreciation. So it’s just interest and maintenance. The maintenance is minimal. I sold my last 4Runner for about $2k less than what I bought it for new, outright. Drove it for 2 years. Lost $2k and only ever paid for an oil change (got free ones from Toyota anyway). That enabled me to go buy a TRD Pro and my payment was even lower. Equity for days. You can do it intelligently for sure. But these things don’t depreciate like normal.

So I figure the card might cost me $200 a yr to use, which isn’t bad. Especially if I drink a bunch of mimosas at the airport! 😂. I have the Blue Card which is $99 yr. My offer I think is contingent that I keep both. I have a decent but not great income so for me it makes more sense to accumulate points in one “ecosystem” and probably more importantly keeps my life much more simplified. I tend to prefer Chase for the simple fact that I get so much value from transferring to points to Hyatt. Always 2-3 CCP. I simply just don’t travel enough to justify the Platinum or CSR cards….even with this amazing offer?

I guaranteed it's not going to be 45k. Considering the sr5 (base 5th gen 4runner) is literally like 50k++ on dealership lots. About to see a rude awakening trust me. But my best advice to any car buyer. NEGOTIATE OUT THE PRICE ONLY! Call all the dealers with that same car and brand and try to get numbers and make them work against each other. If you know you're the type of person who loves changing new cars often and don't drive as much. A lease a good option. If you have a very good low interest rate, and max a 5 yr loan. Then financing maybe a good option. But if you have a terrible rate, drive a decent amount, plan to keep your car for a long time, I think considering buying it outright is best.
