the cubs had one of the ugliest tv score designs in the early 2000s😂

People forget he became a much better hitter not just home runs. From 1996 onward. He focused on hitting ball to right center. What gets lost he started hitting 300 or better and had a lot of opposite field base hits to get clutch rbis. Say whatever you want about him but he played a good deal of winning baseball without a ton of support besides grace and Henry Rodriguez for years.
You could do a highlight of just June 😂. That was insane
BS i want to see it all
I was there
I was 22 years old. I has SOSA on my license plates. Baseball was never more fun than 1998. It was magical. Baseball will never be this good again.

The two biggest frauds ever 😂
On this day Sammy didn’t care to win he cared to show off and entertain.
시카고 컵스에 영웅 세미소사!
😅😂😅😂
Sosa was not on the Mitchell report.
I wish Harry Carey would have been around for "The Chase" of 98...would much rather hear Harry with these HR calls.
Listen to the crowd!! BRING BACK PEDs!!
Kingmans was further and off a better pitch...still not bad though
ese es el mejor
😘🥰

This is when juice was still legal well it wasn't against the rules, but a lot of guys responsible for saving the game are now being punished for making it without a doubt the most exciting time in MLB history and for Christ sake will you put Pete Rose into the HOF before he dies. He will end up there one way or another why not do it when he's still around. I know he can be a total douche but over 4000 hits? We got to see this in our lifetime well a lot of us and I guarantee you that record will never be broken again!!

"Sammy So-SAH"!! 😂😂 - Rich Eisen
There were more people keeping the manual scoreboards for other MLB teams updated on the outfield fence than there were fans at the stadium one night.
Sosa is one of the biggest frauds ever. Guy was glazing McGwire and the media in 1998 then we get to 2005 in front of Congress with him telling us he needed an interpreter.🤡🤡🤡
💉💉💉💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
Steroids are a hell of a drug.
Judge at 50th HR on August 25th. Two days after Sosa reached 50th on August 23rd 1998. He's at his pace to catch 66.

how have I never seen this before! The only two longer HR that I've seen in Wrigley is 1979 Kingman. That's farther than Hill's rooftop.
I'm self-admittedly a Sosa fanboy, but I don't believe Kingman's homerun was as long as it was estimated to be, and I believe this homerun here was closer to 535-540 ft, not 520 ft. I'd bet money that this one was just as long, if not longer than Kingman's.
@@gpaulso, I went on Google Earth and measures both from home plate. Both were less distant than I thought they would be. Surprisingly so. Kingman's was longer from what I could tell. Try it!
@@rufuspipemos That makes no sense, how would you be able to tell? Do you know exactly where the ball landed?
😘🥰
i used to hate tim redding
Got CORK?
Steroids made basebal stink for a decade. Worse than a video game.
I was there on Waveland Ave when he hit both. Hung out with my pal at Murphy’s Bleachers watching on WGN. When he was due up, everyone emptied out onto Waveland for a chance to catch history. What a time to be in Chicago.
14 year old me was shitting myself when Sosa came and by the end of the year i was like "wtf was this nonsense"
#CuckTheFubs!
Would it be amazing if someone beat Barry bonds HR record w 73
Blows my mind this was 26 summers ago! I was in the stands at the old three rivers stadium in Pittsburgh for #57 & the rare standing ovation for a visiting player. Slammin’ Sammy
Now Judge hit 50 and 51 HRs today. 2 HR game. Aug 23 and Sosa had 50 on Aug 23rd. Judge on pace to pass Sosa's 66 and he had early April slump. Maybe McGuire Bonds but long road. I was at Judge 14th & 48th this season. What was that 1998 HR chase like? I was 4 yrs old back then

I was at this game! First time I ever saw the cubs win in person. Also this game could have been difference in the cubs winning the division. They only won it by 1 game over the Astros.
April 6, May 7, June 20, July 9, August 13, September 11 During the first two months he didn’t have regular doses.
What?
