It is with great pride yet bittersweetness that I share I will be resigning as a dancer with Dance Theatre of Harlem at the end of this season. In 1999 I saw the company perform for the first time and soon-after
joined the school as a scholarship student. I declared that I’d one day be a leading dancer with them. I’ve achieved that and so much more. The gratitude I feel for the experiences this career has afforded is immeasurable. Arthur Mitchell told me as a child, “we are in service to the art form. It’s not what the art form can do for YOU, but it’s what YOU can do for the art form and your people.”
