    This is the only fully hands-on, Gunsmith school. That focuses solely on the complete art and trade of becoming a Gunsmith. Upon which you graduate with an actual degree as a Gunsmith. Not a certificate, a degree. No other courses offer this. Being able to diagnosis and repair, polish and refinish the metalwork, machine and fit , carve and finish the woodwork ... Every aspect of the firearm. Not just add parts and pieces. Repair, build custom works of art. Properly fit and size the firearm. Restore and refinish the firearm. You will learn this and more. Being a Gunsmith is being a craftsman and artist. It is a trade that you will continually learn and never master. But constantly refine your skills and knowledge. What are waiting on ? Call ... go visit and tour the facilities and talk to the students and instructors first hand. If you're looking for a trade. Here's your opportunity.

    Say, with that beautiful paint booth. Some outstanding "automotive " quality paint jobs. Can be done on stocks and stock chassis. Competition shooters love the flair ! Something Mr. Evans, you can additionally look into. I do it here a lot. It's simple, affordable and a lot of variety to offer. Hydrodipping graphics. It's very easy to setup and a great way to provide some nice finishes 👍. Talk with Ryan about obtaining a used oven. Then contact Prismatic powder coating. Another fantastic product and great finishes. Additionally something that's become popular. Since i lost vision in one eye, is handgun hunting. So holsters made of Kydex. It's not difficult and adds to what you can offer your customers. A press a creative mind. Get John to offer his handgun classes and have fun 👍. It does my heart good to see John teaching again. It's what he totally enjoys. The school looks great and I know Ryan. He's going to take it to a new level and anyone looking to learn the art and trade of becoming a Gunsmith. Colorado School of Trades is your choice of schools.

    I had the privilege of attending and graduating from the school. It was a fantastic course. John, who I see in this video, was one of my instructors and mentors in the field. I was then given the privilege of being an instructor for many years. I know the owner, and he is an exceptional person . In addition to also being a graduate of the course and an exceptional Gunsmith. He is sure to take the school to new heights in the industry. If you are considering learning the art and trade of becoming a Gunsmith. This is the school of choice. Many of the best Gunsmiths in the industry are graduates of the school. So you will be joining an alumni filled with a long tradition of excellence in the field.

    I attended CST from 1981 through 1982. Part of the last class to complete the old 2 year program. I attended nights. I fondly remember Doc Kroekle, Dave Mclane, Eldon Adams, John Sones, and Bill Span. All excellent teachers who pushed every student to do the job right. 3 months after graduating I got a job with a major firearms manufacturer, gunsmithing and eventually supervising, which was the best 14 year stint of my working life. I transitioned in making prosthetics and orthotics in which the skills I learned at CST proved invaluable. My gunsmithing knowledge led me to invent several items used in the prosthetics industry. I spent my last 10 working years working for the state and building a good pension. Now, living in Idaho, retired and enjoying gunsmithing for friends and neighbors and having my own shooting range out my back door. Living the dream! I thank CST for making it all possible.

    2:48 proofing a firearm is usually done with a remote lanyard for safety. This seems unsafe in the EXTREME, not even a good hold on the weapon to ensure it'll fire into the backstop.

      All barreled actions are headspace-checked and inspected for bore obstructions prior to test firing. I've never heard of anything going awry with how we do it. I can't speak for other schools or shops though.

    Is there a place near Long Island NY

    • @haloboy152
      @haloboy152 Год назад

      Another Long Islander here. You don’t really have a lot of options in the NY metro area for gunsmithing. Closest I can think of is the one school in Pittsburgh. I moved from LI to Colorado to attend CST from 2019 to 2021, and I personally think it’s worth it. It’s only 14 months, but you get a lot out of it.
