Dumbartung
Австралия
Добавлен 4 мар 2020
We strive to empower the healing of our people’s lives and communities through cultural and social initiatives that strengthen the spiritual identity of our people. This combined, maintains a sense of belonging. Within this belief, merged the power of the Kyana gatherings on the foreshore of the Derbarl Yerrigan during 1991-1993.
Together with education and training, we produce ground breaking short films that explore our nation’s history of racial injustice, written materials, and the award-winning Kyana Art Gallery. The future legacy of Dumbartung will merge into a new bastion of truth telling. Future generations will be able to access the historical knowledge of the past, including the 1905 Native Welfare Act and how this policy affected and dispossessed our people from their land, culture and families.

The Kyana Festivals were held in Perth, Western Australia, from 1991 to 1993. This was the most massive cultural gathering in living memory for the Nyoongar people. The gatherings were held on the foreshore of the Derbarl Yerrigan in the shadows of the city of Perth. Aboriginal people across all of Australia attended, as were the bands and participating artists.

The white stolen generation was 100x worse than any aboriginal generation... Aboriginal settlements have rife S/A and abuse statistics. Not one koori sook makes me feel sorry for you. Stop being victims and educate your children, instead of creating perpetual victims..
Again, why were the children taken? Was it because the Aboriginal families were a safe place and weren't places of rape, incest, violence...? Yeh, governments just love to spend money breaking up healthy, intact families.
And why were the children "stolen"?
Because Australia wanted to assimilate the natives through means of erasing they're culture from a young age, by removing them from their people and throwing them into missions with conditions on par with prisons.
And if you somehow didn't realise that even in a tiny amount somewhere in your thick head, then maybe you should actually learn to sympathise with an oppressed people instead of getting on your knee's for the government and defending literal atrocities.
From South Africa, I'm ashamed of my "coloured" brethren who "ran away" from apartheid, emigrating to Aus in the 80s, and who've become more intent on Europeansing themselves by marrying the aboriginal oppressors, rather than integrating themselves with their brothers and sisters being genocided by the Europeans.
That's racist. People like you are the reason it carries on. Grow up
Great point, too many coloured people sucking up to them.
Were there any good things coming out of these white man policies? What did the tribal elders do to counter these policies? When you talk about redress do you mean purely financial compensation? Would that be more productive and beneficial than say social support programs? Do all aboriginals suffer from closing the gap issues? I think I need to research these and other issues particularly your assertion that it was a case of genocide. Thanks for the info.
"a case of genocide" Are you blind? Do you not see 2 Kooris talking on the screen? Genocide? Oh please!
If you want to know another "view", try reading 'The World of the Fist Australians' by the Berndts and Joan Kimm's 'A Fatal Conjunction: Two Laws, Two Cultures'. Confirmation Bias is as deadly as meningitis.

I found it interesting over time i discovered design difference in spear throwers from the central Australia from the Southern East Coast of Australia! Thank you for sharing knowledge ✨
I also find it very interesting the differences in some of the technology our people used, all over the continent. Even certain differences relating to culture and cultural practices, aswell as stories. These are all examples of the different nuisances and variety of our culture.
Thank You for your comment!
My Nguny, LEGEND ORSE, Thankyou my Brother. Keep standing dor the TRUTH!
Thank You for the support, Brother!
Very interesting to see! Question: at 1:00 stitching is shown. Is this Indigenous prior to recent times? If so, what materials were used as the needle and thread? Many thanks. From San Diego, California, USA.
Traditonally stiched with kangaroo bone and sinew (we stitched our cloak with leather as a contemporary requirement), please check out the other artifact videos, we have uploaded. Thanks @larryparis925 for the comment!
@@dumbartung Thank you, much appreciated!
I will never step foot on rottnest island, bad place and one of many this country hides.
My cousin would swim to there and catch fish with his gidji. They all lived in Waterman’s Bay.
Utter bigot rubbish
They didn't commit a crime.
Just as bad as white man's violence and white man's laws, was and is white man's religion. It is that unsacred belief system that was and is just as significant in shackling the bodies and minds of First Nations peoples.
Absolute rubbish
You finding it hard to believe the truth?
Todays australians had nothing to do with this but todays aboriginals would like to hang the blame on modern white australians.
Cruel and prejudice

Thankyou. Trurh must be told and truth must be taught. Truth must never be silent and never be hidden.

There was no genocide in WA
When will the Australian school system start teaching ALL the things that happened on this continent?
folks you gotta go to perth and visit Kyana in person. its money well spent, visit Kyana more then once on your holiday, it'll change you FOREVER. long live Kyana!
This has valuable & educational content. The ‘truth’ is the beginning of unraveling the ‘Great Australian Lie’, & educating people worldwide about the underlying factors that deny Australian Aboriginals a firm place in the Australian Constitution. Much love ❤️
Awful thankyou❤️💛🖤
Evocative works that reflect the depths of the artists, and the obvious connection to what they saw and experienced. So important, Robert.
Thank you for your continuing work, Robert.
