Dead Cells: I Focused The Hell Up. . . And Got Cocky
Nice try
I'll get there. . . eventually.
I'd say that you built starfury wrong to be fair, I've found that the weapon is better when built as tactics, as tactics has things like Networking and Point Blank that make it incredibly strong. Although, the brutality version can work well with things like melee since it slows them and gives you more time to attack.
Although, it makes sense that you went with the brutality version, since you got when you were already going brutality.
I always felt that with magic bow you either feel underpowered constantly, slow, or that you're really overpowered. It's always only one at a time though.
@@aaronmcfarlane2549 yeah, starfury just feels like a weapon that does not work as well for how i usually like to play with my weapons. And I was honestly thinking about if the shooting stars it sends count as ranged attacks to proc the point blank mutation and stuff.
Any tips for a new dead cells player?
My top three tips are: 1) Observe. The game gives you cues when an enemy is attacking so you can dodge, block or parry which will let you learn how exactly an enemy attacks. 2) Specialize in one stat. You need the damage more than you need health. The only time that you would use a scroll of power to give yourself health is if that scroll is not giving you the power boost you're specializing in. 3) Do not get frustrated when you die. Understand what you did wrong, own up to it and learn from it. Going into your next run frustrated is just going to cause you to die even faster than you did the last time and it's probably going to be due to a more stupid reason than you died the first. And for a bonus tip: Do not be afraid of the cursed chest. Cursed chests can give out some pretty decent weapons and they give scrolls of power for only needing a 10 enemy killstreak. Of course, you're probably not going to be seeing too many cursed chests for a while though.
@ thank you!!
@@duskingvill Not a problem
Thanks for uploading content! I'm visiting family during the holiday and haven't been able to play dead cells for weeks. Tbh I dislike magic bow. It's got a noticeably long activation time which makes it hard to use when you're caught off guard like when that knife thrower began throwing knives after you parried and dashed through the rampager in prison depths. Next time I would suggest deploying your turret or other skill onto the platform below if you're cursed and can't safely scout for enemies. You can stay just within range from above for it to activate on any enemies below. Promenade is hard bc of all the protector dummies shielding nearby enemies. The failed experiment and runner made it nearly impossible to eliminate the protector that was shielding them, and all the while the grenadier was throwing bombs from the platform above. If you can't eliminate a protector bc you're being flanked by nearby enemies, then I would recommend luring the other enemies away from protector range. Good luck with your next run!
Yeah. I'm really disliking the magic bow for it's long activation time as well. Also, good to know these lil things for the next run. I'll try to keep these things in mind for the next runs to come whenever I have to deal with those pesky obscurers.
Better than me. I just got my fourth BC yesterday.
Hey, nice job getting to 4 BC though. That's still impressive!
Whenever i look at Dead Cells i always don't see why their isn't a Character outline or something to help with visiblity in the game. there are so many effects and the character is basically consumed by them i can't see whats goin on.
There is actually. In the accessibility settings, you can actually toggle outlines and adjust their color for stuff such as yourself, enemies, projectiles, traps, the secret glyphs that contain money or food and pets!
@@abyssmandaedalus ohh okay thanks for telling me i should try out Dead Cells again
@@Akiozumi Happy to give information! And hope you enjoy it if you do come back to it!
Never give up, you can always go straight back into the depths. Remember, even if you keep bashing your head against a wall, even if your head is demolished, the wall will be too eventually.

I hate those mushrooms on the sewer levels so much
Yeeeeah, those mushrooms that just grow spikes from the ground are so annoying.
hey, bro 😎
same, bro
very sad
It is T.T
All legendary items (knife dance in this case) will scale with any color. So you don’t need to go brutality if you don’t want. In fact, tactics can work really well with networking and knife dance.
That's true. And if I remember correctly, Knife Dance is actually a mix between brutality and tactics. But I think the reason I was going with there was because I didn't want to really utilize bleeding.
Terra’s too good
She is a very fun offlaner.
i have lost so many endgame runs because of those fuckers.
They are so annoying T.T
Okay listen.. I’m literally sitting here getting pissed off at this Cruz. 😂😂😂
how do you do a flawless parry with mouse. i am trying but it gets delayed alot
I'm afraid I can't really offer an easy solution there. I would start with simply practicing parries so you know the timing of how the shield swings when you click. I also only try to parry the attacks that are more easily telegraphed. Of course there are many times where I still screw up the timing.
it's not that hard tho, just whenever you see ! right click, except for projectiles ofc
nice
no idea how many times did I restarted in the last few years. Gatecrasher sux.
It does T.T
At this point I used 4x JOB lv 99 Black Belts or Dragoons at lvs over 70 all other job classes IMHO are all crap and aren't worth using for the rest of the game.
Your opinion is noted.
Pls could we see some defect runs! Also it’s completely up to you but if you could go for act 4 as well that would be amazing. Anyways great run
I always do them in the order of Ironclad -> Silent -> Defect -> Watcher. So, I will eventually get to the Defect. As for doing act 4. . . Well, it certainly sounds like going back would be a fun challenge.
For leveling up at least in the PIXEL remaster keep the 4x EXP cheat on for the ENTIRE game with it on Bahamut's Cave if your NOT AT LV 70+ for the last dungeon is the best place to lv up floor 1 and floor 3 the 2nd floor of Bahamut's cave has Petrify causing enemies which you do NOT want to fight the first and 3rd floors mostly AVOID that. But only use Bahamut's cave to hit lv 70 PARTY Members only NOT their JOB class levels for that use the Cave from the very START of the game for ALL 99 JOB LV ups 1 battle at a time.
Thanks for the advice! I decided to peek at a guide for some of the earlier sections and compared it to what level I was then and HOLY was I underleveled
Due to me keeping 4x exp on for the entire game by the time I entered the ancients maze I had Monk Black belt Dragon x4 all at job lv 99 the other jobs IHMO at this point are all crap and aren't worth it but I also had LV 71 party members by now.
I'll keep that in mind. Personally I like to have a variety of jobs since from what I learned on this episode. Other jobs do have their benefits with the fact that certain monsters may have weaknesses to exploit.
I still find all black magic/attack summons worthless 4x job lv 99 and party lv 99 Black Belts SHOULD hit everything for 9999 damage and 4x Dragoon job lv 99 and party member lv 99 will still do 5000+ JUMP attacks and HEAL just as much HP.
I will respect your opinion however I am not trying to grind the party to character level 99 and not trying to put jobs at 99 either (at least not intentionally). This is just me playing through the game casually and enjoying it for the first time.
I always save food until I'm about to leave the biome. I'm too cautious to recycle right away... what if you need it later?!
That is true! But I figure with certain foods like kebabs, they don't give that much unless you're running that one survival mutation which increases the food healing. But for me. My goal is to not get hit in the first place so just having it lying there and having to go back to then recycle it seems like a chore.
I always get caught off by poison and orbs too lmao
Keep it up bro! 🙌 I haven't played this game but I'm craving to give it a try I just can't spend 20$ rn And even though I'm not even understanding what you're doing I feel amazed
Thanks for the encouragement! I'll keep trying! Hmmm, but I do wonder what I can do so that way you can understand.
@@abyssmandaedalus don't worry it's just that is a new and I just don't quite understand the mechanics of the game basically I have to play the game or see more videos to completely understand the game Anyways thanks for actually answer

I'll consider it and will try to remember to implement it for next time! Sorry about having it on. I've always played with it on and it never really bothered me before.
Nice video, that's why I always pick up immolate when it appears. AOE damage is to much necessary
0:00 - Silent sucks. 0:35 - I'm eyeing a burning elite snipe leaning into the right path if we go for the early shop. Left path is almost impossible for Silent unless we highroll big time. Right side gives a lot more pathing options plus the starting shop can give us a decent boost with a good potion/card. 1:35 - Expertise is not only not a damage card, but its a really niche card that either does nothing or its extremely helpful. It's nowhere near being good here. That floor was either a skip or a Bane at most. 2:35 - Footwork is the type of card that you need to think "will this card pick kill me in act 1?". If the answer is no, then pick it. Its part of what could become your block solution for the lategame and it already starts performing in act 2. It's also way too early for a reflex given that you only have 1 card that benefits from discard synergies. 3:00 - Good assesment, left path would have killed you. 3:10 - A non-damage upgrade. You're asking to get nobbed. 3:15 - Really good draw for a forge potion, you're dead otherwise. 4:20 - Both Leg Sweep and CC are very dense block cards, so I'd take any of them. I would however dodge elites until I get more frontload damage because situation is looking dire. 5:25 - Removing a strike here is a huge misplay. Your damage output is super low. You REALLY want to buy Trip or at least the attack potion. 6:35 - You need damage. How are you planning on killing the boss without damage? 7:09 - I'm not sure you can survive this sentries fight, so you got extremely lucky here. 8:00 - Video lenght is a bit spoily, but I don't need to check it to know that you're 100% dead here. You don't have enough damage output to kill Hexa in 6 turns. No poison card, no vulnerable card that you could have bought. No good offensive cards other than Blade dance and Sneaky strike. No good potions that give you more output. You're dead. 9:10 - If you drink the potion earlier, you're still 70 damage away from a kill and have a ton of burns+ in your deck. I'd say 2 dexterity wouldn't make the situation much better. With Silent, if you don't get offered poison to scale for bosses, you need to pick any damage. This character is good at blocking, which is the least thing that you need in fights that are damage races (every act 1 elite fight and boss fight besides Guardian). Unfortunatelly you skipped some good damage options which I think could have gotten you past act 1. Also missed the burning elite snipe with the early shop to buy a potion, that would have let you snowball a bit. Gl in the next run!
Nice run! I watched the whole video and god, the fight with the Hand killed me 🤣🤣🤣
Your support is appreciated! But man that hand fight. I was not ready and the hand slapped me for not being ready.
This is an awesome video
good vid
0:00 - Ironlad my beloved 0:05 - Honestly these "bonuses" suck. Taking 18 damage for remove 2 is dangerous. The only thing this does now is allowing us to cycle back to Bash more often, but that's just not that much output. The -18 HP could also force us to take less elites, so I'd look at the map before making this call. Potential 3 elite path. Unless I'm on a winning streak, I'd boss swap here. If the swap is bad the path allows for 1-2 elites. Removing 1 strike and 1 defend is good imo. Removing 2 strikes would be too greedy. 2:10 - Fire pot is really good and so is Inflame. Looking good. 2:25 - Not entirely clear if playing Inflame is correct in turn 2. Cause a 3 strikes draw kills anyways without playing inflame, but playing inflame makes a 3 strikes draw more likely. Can't be bothered to do the math here. 2:45 - Shrug is a really good card, specially against Guardian. I'd probably pick it over Sword Boomerang but I think the boomerang is decent here with the Inflame. 3:17 - Tough call, I really really like this Battle Trance. Dying too much in act 1 due to lack of attacks is probably leaning you towards more damage. Given this is a Guardian act and the fact Anger sucks against him, and that you already picked a boomerang, I'd probably go battle trance here. It's just a great source of frontload draw (which you want cause that Inflame needs to be played asap with the boomerang). 4:15 - Given how bad clad is at drawing cards, Shrug >>>>>> Ghostly Armor. 8:20 - A very niche micro advice: don't ever drink Fruit Juice unless you're about to die or you've been offered a new potion. Reason is, if the next relic you get is Toy, you'll be missing 5 HP heal from it. Also, some events damage you based on a % of your current health so you don't want to have higher HP. So yeah, delaying drinking the Juice as much as possible is the best thing to do. 10:10 - Micro was a bit sus but all things considered you're through act 1! So far VERY minor nitpicks, deck is okay-ish but this is due to RNG and not because of your picks. Overall, fairly clean. 10:36 - This is a key moment and I think Black Star here is not correct. If you play clad long enough, you'll start realizing how badly this character wants a 4th energy. Offering is not enough, you want to play more cards per turn and both Dripper and Choker lets you do that. Also, we have no AoE, output is currently sus, and we have no potions, so we might just die in any elite fight. Having said that, Dripper is a bit scary because we have no relic support besides the Burning Blood and we have Offering (maybe its still fine due to Bites/Apparitions being a thing). I think this is Choker. We need to snowball harder, we are not playing more than 6 cards per turn anyways (and this shouldn't hurt us much in the endgame as long as we add more dense cards to our deck). 11:20 - Full left path here lets you go to a shop and lets you rest before the elite. Resting here is important because you don't have the 4th energy nor the AoE damage that would let you tackle hallways cleanly. 14:00 - I liked arma+ here. 15:37 - Aaaand ded. I think you could have survived this fight with perfect play. Even then, you were 100% dead against an elite unless you saw Waffle at the shop. Very minor mistakes throughout the run, but the ones you made ended up costing too much. I think the takeaway here should be that 4th energy on clad is insane, it almost always plays. It would have saved you a ton of HP on every hallway. Not sure between Dripper/Choker. Maybe a more skilled player would go Dripper, but with Choker I'd be chilling at least till the end of Act 3.
just got my first heart kill just focusing on poison and block. love the silent! another enjoyable vid abyss
Nice work on that heart kill! And glad you enjoyed the video!
0:00 - Defect owns. 0:50 - It's good practice to take a look at the whole map and make a Neow pick based on amount of elites that you can realistically tackle + boss fight. I do think that 7 max HP for a rare relic is almost always best regardless of the path but just throwing my two cents. 1:20 - In the same spirit of what I mentioned, you don't know if left path only features one elite or more. That's why looking at the whole map is important. You have wingboots, but you don't really want to waste it for no reason. 2:00 - Yey, attack card. Doom and gloom is great. 3:15 - This type of events do really test your "risk" management. I'd click that at least twice in this position. If it goes poorly then we are still very likely to survive the elite with our cards + Skill pot and we can rest afterwards. I don't think skipping is a huge deal here still. 4:00 - Perfect micro against Laga. 5:25 - I really liked your idea here. Spending an extra wingboot change for one extra elite was worth it imo. You have very good potions and cards to tackle them so its the perfect way to keep snowballing. 7:30 - So far, great card picks. Deck is shaping up very nicely. Toolbox or Orichalcum here are better than Strike remove + Defrag. I'd probably go Toolbox. However, I don't dislike your line. 7:40 - With Data Disk, 2 defrags (one of them already upgraded) I think upgrading frontload is better. Doom and Gloom upgrade would be my go to. Scaling is very important, but hallways require you to do stuff immediately. 9:30 - 2 card removes, unless you're very close to going infinite (aka you're playing Watcher), is rarely better than any extra energy relic. I'd go Philo Stone here, specially considering both your Zap + Dual cast are not upgraded. The 4th energy would play in 2nd act. 9:50 - This is some useful info for the future. Silent struggles a ton during act 1, while the other characters are fairly strong. Defect is the character that struggles the most during act 2. Even if your deck is strong, this act can kill your run if you don't path properly. 10:20 - I would have taken Tempest here. No need for more focus. You need to play cards that do something right away. 10:30 - I would certainly click this Apparitions. Having some free turns to set up your orbs + focus is insane. You're hoping into fights facing 20 damage turn 1 and the only thing preventing you from taking damage is Anchor or Reinforced Body. 10:35 - I'd buy the Souvenir here. I think this is a point where you're starting to lose the thread. You made some balanced decisions during act 1 where you took enough frontload for your upcoming fights while also picking some scaling cards for the future. Yet here you're picking scaling while removing strikes. Consistency is important, as you want to draw into your good cards more often, but right now your deck is nowhere near solving frontload output required for the upcoming fights. 12:00 - Upgrading another defrag. 12:10 - Skipping elites is correct here because even with potions it's going to be very hard to tackle them. With some different choices you'd have been able to tackle at least one comfortably. 13:51 - Any other card is better than charged battery here. Sunder would be huge. 14:30 - This deck is not ready to fight elites. It doesn't have enough frontload, it takes time to set up and you don't have anything to mitigate damage with. You're dead here even with potions. 15:00 - You're asking for Coolheadeds, yet the Coolheadeds also do nothing until you fill your orb slots and have the defrags in play. Sunder on the other hand is 30 damage to one slaver. If you draw it in the right turn its literally 1 slaver less for no energy. You can't forget about frontload as soon as you leave act 1. Unfortunate. I'd say your act 1 was very very clean, and act 2 started to go a bit off with all the removes + late scaling picks. Better luck next time :)
Does this game have a decent playerbase tho?
Hmm, if we're talking about number of people. I already think that it has a decent number of people but I think predecessor will be growing quickly due to the fact that yesterday actually they came out of beta and released the 1.0 of the game.
0:33 Sniping is generally not a good idea. You want to take as many fights as possible act 1 to see cards. 1:04 poison was fine, useful for laga as well. Transform a defend though, you have added a skill to your hand. 1:34 infinite blade is awful in your case and should not be considered. 1 mana do nothing, then 4 next round, then 4 again. Is not better than strike before 3 turns after you pick it. You only want it if you already have synergies with powers, exhaust or shives. Sneaky strike was the obvious choice: good against all elites and boss. 2:02 why not poisoned blade? You already have some poison and you're super weak to elites at that point. Blocking more won't solve that, and you already know your snipe won't work. 2:51 acro is arguably a good choice here. Nob is gone. It won't be useful this act though 3:04 infinite blade really?! You really don't want to make damages. 4:12 second acro is plain wrong. Skip is the way. You have 3 energy and no awesome card, are you going to spend one on cycling your deck? 4:55 you have a very weak deck against elites, no potion and you decide to take the road with two of them? What's the plan chief? RIP and good luck next time :)
How many BC? I can't beat the first boss in BC2 should I go play more in easier diff to unlock blueprints?
I am currently on boss stem cell 4. As for deciding about gathering more blueprints. I find that just studying your enemy and understanding their patterns to be a better use than 'i need different gear'. Although getting certain gear or mutations CAN certainly make a fight easier. May I ask which boss you're fighting?

* sees video lenght * Another day in the spire... :D 0:00 - Silent sucks 1:00 - I'd transform a Defend on Silent, she's too defensive to begin with and you need damage cards. 1:55 - I only see one damage card here. You're asking to get Nobbed (again). 2:43 - If this was A20 Nob would vuln you in turn 2. You'd have gotten Nobbed. 2:48 - Acro is good, but output is nowhere near being solved. All out attack is decent AoE. 3:50 - This is a good example of how a seemingly easy fight can wear you down if you can't end it soon. Blur does nothing for you in act 1, you need to draw damage cards. All out attack would have been good here. 4:11 - This second acrobatics lets us cycle our deck faster in order to draw... ???? You need damage cards. Skip. 4:54 - If this was sentries, you would be dead. 6:18 - Super close fight. Guess why. 6:26 - Accuracy is not a damage card. It's damage scaling. Which means it does nothing to increase your frontload output. Its only +4 damage the turn you draw it. Worse than a strike. You have to start picking cards that say "Deal [Insert Number] damage". Stop thinking about synergies that don't do anything until you're in act 3. Double acro is useless; you're paying energy to cycle a deck that does nothing. It would have been different had you taken Sneaky Strike at least. Sneaky Strike or All out attack are not as good as Blade Dance, Predator or Eviscerate, sure. But it doesn't matter. If that's the damage the game offers, that's what we pick to stay alive in act 1. Gl next run! :]

0:00 - Thousand hours on this character, I still don't understand it. 2:05 - Card rewards looking awesome so far D: 2:30 - Finally attack card. 3:40 - Armaments upgrade isn't as strong as Blood for Blood upgrade here. Blood for Blood is currently a curse until you upgrade it or take damage during a fight. If you face Nob and top deck Blood for Blood you're in trouble. 4:20 - See? Curse. 5:05 - Headbutt is good here, but Spot Weakness solves Hexaghost and gives you actual strenght scaling unlike the unupgraded Flex you have. 7:30 - Generally speaking Strike remove is stronger than Defend remove mainly due to Second Wind and Corruption being a thing. Right here its hard to judge since you're lacking output. 8:25 - Unupgraded True Grit is pretty bad. 9:05 - With a Spot Weakness I reckon we can save Power pot for next act. Since you oppened, Evolve is by far the best power here. It accelerates your deck to play Blood for Blood and Flex faster. 9:50 - The Brutality here isn't the problem. Brutality is a good card that helps you to get to your damage cards faster. Hexaghost is the most agressive damage race for Ironclad. If you can't deal 260 damage in 6 turns you're dead anyways. The problem is that you picked True Grit and never upgraded your best damage card to help you put it in play. Also, Evolve would have been much stronger here. 10:56 - Demon Form is a great damage scaling card, not a frontload card. And its very expensive card to put in play. It will kill the Act 2 boss for you, but it won't help you against elites unless you top deck it. Corruption on the other hand is an energy cheat, which you need. It's immediate output, you also have skills to exhaust. It thins your deck which means you see Blood for Blood more often. Choker is really bad, but its pickable on clad. You already have decent block so Philo doesn't hurt as much (also have Meat on the Bone), and would keep infinite options available for the endgame. 12:17 - Once more, transforming Defends will improve your damage output, which you're still lacking so it makes sense. However, those strikes are going to be very hard to remove from your deck now. Had you taken Corruption, this is an easy Strike transform and you thin your deck further during combat. You're missing to see how strong faster cycling can be on this deck with a Blood for Blood. 12:55 - Not buying Orrery here is a crime. 5 free card rewards to immediately improve your deck. Nowhere near the value you get from a strike remove. 14:14 - I pick an Anger here, too many high cost cards. 15:44 - Rupture isn't very good for us. You already have a Demon Form for strenght scaling. Rupture is an extra card you need to draw into and doesn't do anything until next turn. It's generally speaking a bad card, and its still bad here. 22:32 - Feed is generally speaking, really strong. Even in late act 2 it can be +20 max HP for heart if you're diligent enough. However, you have no AoE. And Act 3 is filled with multi-enemy fights. Your output is still not good, you're bleeding too much in every fight and are purely making it through because of Meat on the Bone. This is an easy immolate imo. 24:23 - You're sleeping on Toolbox here. Amazing relic for turn 1 anti-bricking and much better than an extra sword boomerang that does nothing until you get strenght. 26:56 - This is poetry. Imagine if Feed was an Immolate instead. 28:38 - I also hate Reptomancer. It's good that you realized how easier the fight could have gone with a single good AoE card. Clad is hard, really hard. He's a combo based character that shines when you pick specific cards and have enough frontload draw + energy to put them in play fast. You didn't have a win condition yet and you were not close to get one imo (unless you got offered 2 Reapers in this act). With a Corruption pick at the end of Act 1, my deck would have looked quite different. With FF, Pummel Strike+ and Bloodletting I would have gotten my output out of cycling my deck repeatedly. I would have been 1 Dark Embrace or a Sundial away from a wincondition, and I would have had a much easier time in act 3.
Great insight
19 August dead cells update
Aahhhh man, that was such a unfair death.😅 Good luck in the next rum.
Hopefully next time will be better! (Although I tell myself that all the time ^ ^")
0:00 - Defect owns. 2:25 - Streamline > Melter. Bigger number and becomes 0 cost after a few plays. Very good in the early game and doesn't suck in the endgame. Melter is very niche, helpful in very few fights. 2:45 - Of course you got offered an All for One after not picking Streamline. Also, Hello World. Not a skip. 3:00 - You have good potions and decent damage. Defect has a strong act 1 in general. Please farm elites. 3:30 - Minus 5 HP for no reason, minus 2 HP for no reason next turn and an upgrade potion wasted. With your deck I leave this fight +7HP and +upgrade pot, play slower and calculate whether or not you need to take damage. Save potions for important fights like elite fights and use them to maximize value. 5:32 - Equilibrium >> Boot Sequence. We don't have any frost orb generation. 13 block that doesn't exhaust against Guardian is great. Also, retain. 7:54 - Drinking Focus pot is overkill here. You might not see Defragment next act and then you're in trouble (foreshadowing). 9:34 - You have plenty of orb generation and not enough free orb slots. You picked the worst relic ;p 11:10 - Compile driver is insane here. 11:45 - Garbage cards. 12:50 - Explosive pot for +6 HP is poor value out of a great potion. This potion plays in Slavers or Gremlin Leader. 13:50 - Streamline+ my beloved. 14:25 - Self Repair is great here. Thread and Needle isn't worth 339 gold. 22:25 - Apparitions is really strong here. You're low HP, you don't have good card draw, a poor draw can kill you. Apparitions lets you set everything up. Once you have Capacitor in play, every fight is super easy. 22:45 - Correction, you got emotion chip which is insane, and its insane at the moment. 24:54 - Minus 10 HP for no reason. That same -10 HP killed you on this fight. Also, double Equilibrium is more block than double Leap + Defend. Also, if only we had a Focus potion ;p Ahh, that was a close run. Overall very nice card picks. Gotta play it slower with the robot, its a tricky character. Gl next run! :]
0:00 - Silent sucks. 0:10 - Neow is trolling with those bonuses. 0:55 - We need damage, Skewer is awesome. Footwork is a great card specially with Guardian. What do you want the Expertise for? We have no cards in the deck. 1:25 - Poisoned stab is a damage card. 1:40 - If only we got offered an attack card to split the slime and not take 15. 2:36 - Nightmare is another card that does nothing in act 1. 3:07 - Minus 8 HP for minus 2 dazeds in your deck is not a good trade imo. 3 dazeds (A20) maybe. 3:24 - Nightmare is useless act 1 and most of act 2 because we can't put it reliably into play. We don't have any card manipulation or energy to suplement it. 4:23 - All-Out Attack is a damage card. Please click a damage card. 6:00 - Yep. Also, when you have card manipulation like Well Laid Plans, so you can retain Nightmare or Blade Dance and get the combo consistently. 6:14 - We dead :( Good run! Last Ironclad run vibes kind of lol. You're disrespecting act 1 a lot, and Silent is the worst Act 1 character. She desperately needs damage output to fight elites or else she dies. Her defensive deck isn't suited for the early game where fights are damage races but she thrives in the lategame with intangible or high dexterity. You needed Skewer, All-Out Attack, Poisoned Stab, etc. Don't even have to trust me, you can even go, input the seed you have on the top right of the screen to replay the same run. Pick Skewer right after Blade Dance and see how fights go.
Thanks for always giving out these details. It certainly helps me when I got someone who knows what they're doing is examining what I can do better! I'll make sure to keep these things in mind so I can get even higher!
@@abyssmandaedalus Np! Its fun to see other's decision making. I just want to point out that, while this game is very very difficult, its almost never unfair. More often than not it will give you the tools you need to win the run, but recognizing what's needed and when, comes with practice. Gl in future runs! :)
@@ldidok I'll need it!
I'll add one more thing here, in act 1, silent is so desperate for adding even more cards than most classes, because of how defensive the initial deck is. This makes early combats before elites super valuable and at the same time invalidates all other nodes, including events and shops (money are not enough for shop unless neow gold bonus). The initial HP 1 enemy bonus may seem attractive but it means you are not getting one of the better ones. Ideally you want to be pathing on at least 3 combats minimum (easy fight pool - after it the combats are harder) to get dmg cards and a decent potion, and a campfire to upgrade your best damage number card, before you fight that first elite. If you get unlucky you need to have an alternate path to avoid that elite, and in general silent is better in act 1 when she fights the elites as late as possible in the act. Its a rough act, and you need to be considering at least 3 early damage cards to compensate! Which means in many cases drafting mediocre dmg cards might be needed. This is incredibly true on the highest difficulty (A20) as well. PS: On that early shop, sneaky strike and dagger throw were pretty great pickups. That accuracy was basically almost a curse, too early for it.
0:12 - Insta Neow's Lament without looking at the path. 1:16 - Thunderclap sucks. 1:35 - Picking evolve cause we "might fight sentries". Headbutt is good against everything. 2:09 - Minus 5 HP for no reason. 2:24 - One more card that doesn't deal damage. That was a skip imo. 2:32 - Upgrade Evolve because we "might fight sentries". Instead of upgrading damage output like Bash or Anger. You're asking to get Nobbed. 3:10 - Imagine drawing into a card that deals damage instead of Thunderclap. 3:13 - Get Nobbed. 3:25 - Upgrading instead of resting with 18. It doesn't matter which elite is next, you're dead. 4:26 - Welcome to the ruthless world of A20 Slay the Spire. See you next week! :D
Yep, A20 is ruthless and I was not ready.
@@abyssmandaedalus You'll push through :). If you want to play for consistency tho you'll have to start respecting Act 1 a bit more. Most act 1 fights are just a damage race, so pick damage cards. Those cards suck in the endgame, but you won't get there without them ;p Props on you for sharing the run, even if you got demolished. A20 is not easy at all.
@@ldidok Roger captain!
First time warching, the decision to upgrade envolve was really mind boggling to me, cant just hope to fight sentinels twice
