very sad.
Another great video my friend
Thanks Curtis!
Such a shame it was demolished. Even the inside was a beautiful building.
Pulling from the personal experiences of growing up within Kansas City, in both Kansas and Missouri, has fostered the artist’s involvement in community building and sharing the colors, lives and experiences within the Latino community with others. There is power in visibility, and by sharing this story, the artist hopes that young Latino kids see this artwork as empowering. Artist: Vincent Medellin Location: Clay County Courthouse (Liberty, Missouri) About the Parade of Hearts: "Local artists spent months creating 101 works of heART. Each of the 5-foot by 5-foot hearts is a unique design, with the artist’s inspiration and story behind it. Some hearts are whimsical, some are celebratory, some are thought-provoking…and all are simply beautiful." Theparadeofhearts.com
Swim is an activity and sport that almost anyone can partake in and gain something from; whether it’s for medical benefit, joy, or for the challenge! The Blazer’s are KCs most prominent competitive team-and serve as an inspiration for many young swimmers. The hope is for people to walk away from this heart thinking about their own things that bring them joy and excite them-why’ll also sparking an interest in swimming for someone else. Artist: Gwynevere Buie Location: The Elms Hotel About the Parade of Hearts: "Local artists spent months creating 101 works of heART. Each of the 5-foot by 5-foot hearts is a unique design, with the artist’s inspiration and story behind it. Some hearts are whimsical, some are celebratory, some are thought-provoking…and all are simply beautiful." Theparadeofhearts.com
The heart is adorned with two versions of the Puerto Rican flag. One side has the color version with the three red stripes represent the blood from the brave warriors. The two white stripes represent the victory and peace that they would have after gaining independence. The white star represented the island of Puerto Rico. The blue represents the sky and blue coastal waters. The black and white flag represents mourning over the mismanagement and exploitation of the island and its locals. The base is green to represent the lush and fertile agriculture of the island. This heart is meant to represent the often-forgotten community of Puerto Ricans that call KC home. Artist: AA Chevere Location: Pleasant Valley Fire Department About the Parade of Hearts: "Local artists spent months creating 101 works of heART. Each of the 5-foot by 5-foot hearts is a unique design, with the artist’s inspiration and story behind it. Some hearts are whimsical, some are celebratory, some are thought-provoking…and all are simply beautiful." Theparadeofhearts.com
The images depicted on the heart are a vintage view of Kansas City from the 1930s and the late 1950s, showing the rich heritage of Kansas City. We hope people will view the heart and remember these localities. For some people we hope to create enough interest to research these beloved areas of KC. Artist: DOUG BENNETT & SHARON WAGNER Location: Historic Truman Courthouse (Independence, Missouri) About the Parade of Hearts: "Local artists spent months creating 101 works of heART. Each of the 5-foot by 5-foot hearts is a unique design, with the artist’s inspiration and story behind it. Some hearts are whimsical, some are celebratory, some are thought-provoking…and all are simply beautiful." Theparadeofhearts.com
This heart is dedicated to those who have experienced pregnancy loss. The current statistic is that 1 in 4 women have experienced at least one pregnancy or infant loss in their adulthood. Using that rationale the artist went to work. According to the U.S. Census of 2020, the Kansas City metropolitan area population was 2,199,544. Approximately 836,000 of those (39% of that population) were women over the age of 18. Based on the previously stated statistic, approximately 209,000 women in the Kansas City metro area have experienced at least one pregnancy or infant loss. 209,000 hearts shattered. But there is healing. There is hope. Artist: Fran Kuzila Location: Lawson (Missouri) City Park
Great video good to see you again hope you are well ❤
Thanks William! You too hope you’ve been having a great summer 😊
@@kcvids816 Your welcome and thanks I had a great summer how was yours ❤️
I enjoy like watching your video Little House on the Prairie was my favorite show i used to watch that all the time thank you for taking us along on the tour that was an awesome cool tour and video
Thank you that means a lot! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Man I swear everytime I pick up a book and dive back in and look up something regarding Jesse James or the Guerrillas youve been there and covered it! Saves me the trip but I still want to go see all of these places in person one day lol Appreciate the top notch camera work as always
Killa City!!🫡 Thanks man it's been a fun little journey visiting these sites and learning the real history. It's been awhile since I've looked into the Battle of Albany but I do remember that after Bloody Bill was killed they paraded his body around the town square of Richmond, Missouri. Some people then cut off fingers, ect as souvenirs 😬. Cole Younger helped pay for his gravestone. Anyways, it's great to hear from ya! lol.
That’s pretty KC. Hope you’re doing well.
@@NaturesFairy Thanks Brenda! I'm doing ok. Took a nice trip to Michigan but then I got sick with Covid 🙄. Feeling much better now though. Hope you and family are having a good summer 🤗
"“Gone Fishing” captures the essence of a beloved pastime in the Midwest - fishing. From family lake trips to competitive angling, fishing holds a special place in the hearts of Midwesterners. This artwork sheds light on the underwater world, giving a humorous voice to the often overlooked aquatic creatures that share our waters. Each character is inspired by the native fish and amphibians of the region, celebrating the unique fishing experiences that make the heartland so memorable." Artist: Evan “Doodle Dood” Brown. Location: Liberty, Missouri About the Parade of Hearts: "Local artists spent months creating 101 works of heART. I didn't see St. Joseph (St. Joe) in Buccannon County, about an hour north of Kansas City...Where the Western Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center aka one of the many Missouri prisons is.
@@davidstein3340 I’ve done a few videos in St. Joseph. Mostly museums like Glore Psychiatric, Pony Express Museum, Patee House, ect. Here’s one I did showing the city ruclips.net/video/jEVxZ1tDWCE/видео.htmlsi=evIqBQ2hZiLjp73v

Battlefield? Wasn’t much of a battle!
Nice little town. I was there several years ago.
It really needs a pair of googly eyes.
They changed the rock
Yall i dont understand why people feel bad for gypsy like shes a cold blooded murder. She framed poor nick
Historical stuff happened in that area. My mother grew up on FLint Hills Bazaar< KS
The earth is Yehovah’s and the fullness thereof. It’s beautiful-BUT IT AIN’T NEW JERUSALEM. Joseph Smith was a fraud and heretic. LDS is a cult with a strong false doctrine.
Just chilling Sounds good to me oh yeah stay cool
Great video of this little town. My grandparents lived there and was back not too long ago. Thank you!
I live there lol
Don’t fall in 🤣
Just found this. Spent many weekends cruising both towns in high school in the 70,s. Time has gone by so fast.
Walter was green b4 green came to his back door...
Lexington:”I got a famous battlefield!” Braintree: “I got a mall as a monument!” Kingston: “I have a WW1 monument! what did you get Plymouth?” Plymouth: “I got a rock.”
lived in miami mo on pearl farrell farm in 1985
Bat-nip suit as I call it
I grew up in St. Charles in the 70's. This brings back memories. It sure has changed a lot since then. Thanks for sharing!
Been thier 😊❤
Okay, history lesson time, Pilgrims landed approx. on eastern Cape Cod . Too swampy so moved until they could get on land. Plimouth. Yes, that's how it was spelled. I know this because my ancestor was John Howland. He's on the Mayflower Compact. He also fell overboard after drinking heavily with the Capt. and was saved. They actually never landed on a rock, they used a boulder as a monument to their survival of the voyage.
Does anybody remember the old Waverly bridge, did you ever drive over it? Or the flood of 93 lived in carroll county in Hale at the time 😊❤🎉
I lived in Waverly from 1988-1997. The bridge was narrow & scary at first, but after awhile, you just got used to it & hoped you didn't meet anyone on it. Flood of 93 there was water from Waverly all the way 10 miles north to Carrollton
Thanks for the tour. I feel the spirit because its a hollowed ground.
I partyed and swam in my cousins pond at bogart, ate sweet corn out of his garden drank beer, hello cousins🎉🌽 🍻
I remember museum when it was a garage and the museum had great more things of New Madrid before the quake craze❤
Do you remember what the name of the statue at 24:36 is called? It looks very cool and interesting
@@McCracken000 No I don’t remember sorry. If I go back I’ll try to see if I can find out for you. Thanks for watching.
@@kcvids816 no problem thank you
I want to take my oujia there. 😂😂😂
Just went there today. There was a ton of dust past the wall from other folks, so I didn't go any further than that. I wonder about the other portal that's above it and what they found up there.
I have a bluebird of happiness, I got it for $6.00 at a thrift store and no regrets are made! The double one on the loveheart is the one I have
That's a lot of fireworks!
