It seems like a passenger was unfamiliar with the mechanics of the car. I'm not sure what he meant by revving other than pressing the gas. He seemed unfamiliar with cars displaying 1, 2, & 3, which was common in older cars. Cars only have "D" nowadays. Older cars also had the ability to simply bump up to the next gear & into neutral, without pressing the button or pulling the column mounted shifter. It was like he was teaching a new driver. It's kind of comical, but we were all there at one point.

Also I just wanted to ask a question what would be a good like first think to replace to make sure the engine doesn't break? I've heard a lot of people saying to replace the gasket on the engine but I would just like to ask. (Sorry for typing so much but I'm just exited to get one). Also I hope you're able to repair the 7m soon cause it sounds great and I honestly I feel bad for you, about the car breaking.
