Sar Pass Trek - Solo - 2 days✨
Sar Pass, a moderate level trek, starts from Kasol and offers a variety of landscapes throughout the entire journey ending at Barshaini village from where you can get public transport back to Kasol/Bhuntar.
We started this trek on 16th June, 2023 at around 10 a.m. from Kasol and speed hiked all the way to the Pulga village at around 5 p.m. the next day. This was again a self-supported hike as we carried our own camping & cooking gears, and offline map.

Parashar Lake trek is a 7km(approx) trek situated in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. The entire trek is very scenic and offers you the views of Dhauladhar range. Yes ,there is only one bus that has fixed timing , but you have no. of other pvt. Vehicles like jeeps that go on this route.

Hey !! Can i trek tarsar marsar DIY ? Is there any difficulty for DIY ?
You may face difficulty while asking for permit, so we would suggest you to go with a group or in the season when there are many groups doing this trek.

Hi! You can definitely go for it without any agency, you can easily search for trails over there, things that you would need are tents, sleeping mat, sleeping bag and food stuff. Although we would not recommend you to go at this time of the year as it must be raining heavily there and also if you have no knowledge of trails.

Hi, Let me congratulate you first on successfully completing the trek. In which month you did this trek? which is the proper period to visit this trek?
I applied for permission previous in jk tourism but they turned me down on the pretext that they dont allow solo treks at least a group of 7 are given the permission. How did you get it?
Yes, they have changed their criteria because of certain accidents that happened in past. Also, we got it because Saryu is a certified mountaineer.
how u know the route in these mountains
We carry offline maps with us.

Hello can we do the KGL without any tour guides?
We did, because we got the permit as Saryu is certified mountaineer. Without a guide it is difficult to get a permit.

Great trip. I am a trekker from kerala and i use to trek always without a guide or porter. But in tropical mountains, we get plenty of firewood. Anyhow i have planned my solo trip to kgl on coming july. You r my main inspiration. Thank you very much.

May is a good month, but for a beginner Sar pass is a difficult multiday trek.

Hi, so you can get gpx files of route maps that you can use offline from internet or some paid apps. We carry ready to eat foods with us.

Hello, brother. Is it possible to get a permit as a solo foreign trekker? I don't want to hire guides and do other expensive stuff. Thanks!
Getting a permit should not be a problem for foreigners. There is a section in the permit form which requires you to fill in the guide name. If you're doing it with someone else mention their name, or someone else's name you befriend in India. Also, I believe they have made it a mandate now for people to carry insurance. Get that as well beforehand. Best of luck!!

Can you tell the list of things to carry on Tarsar Marsar trekk while on solo camping?
Just normal things....tent,stove,food for 3-4 days including chocolates and tea/coffee...backpack..waterbottle...sleeping bag,torch,trekking boots & pole,rain coat...most of all determination and passion... The views are....👌 You won't find it like giving ,moderate trek...just leaving Lederwat-camping site after leaving Aru...there is a steep rise ...then it is just normal.... Good luck....

I am planning to do it solo in july. Do we need any permit/entry fees to trek hampta pass?
Permit is required for the entry of pvt. Vehicles till Jobra. Also do check the weather forecast and road conditions if you are planning it in July.

Humne 16 ko shuru kiya tha aur 17th ko Sar Pass cross kar liya tha. Ye trek humne pehle bhi kiya hai so we didn't require offline maps this time.

Nice video! Thanks for sharing your journey. Where did you get butane gas in Srinagar? I'm planning a solo trek next month and trying to figure how I can get gas as I can't carry it on the flight.
Trekking equipment shops are available at many places throughout Srinagar. Best would be to search for their contacts online and get in touch with them to confirm availability before you even reach Srinagar.

how did you reach chandratal from chattru and back to manali
So from Chattru we took a lift to chandrataal and then came back in the same.

Sir kya aap hume bta sakte hai ki waha par camping k liye permission leni padegi kya aur kya kya difficulty face karni padegi during trek and what are best and safe palce for camping ( safe from wild animals). Agar aap jobra pvt. vehicle se jaa rhe ho toh aapko permission chahiye hogi. Sharing cabs me permission ku zarurat nai hai. During trek bas water streams k samay akele na jaae, baki pura trek safe hai, camping ki jagah hmne blog me bta di hai, you can note from there.
