I am wondering if you had one ticket covering your international and domestic flights together? I didn’t see you claiming your baggage’s and rechecking them!

The best video I can find to explain about this airport. Please, I hope for an answer. I have a domestic flight to Gaziantep. Is there a passport control at the local airport section? Because I know that the passport control is near the visa office. When I get off the plane, I go directly to the local airport and stamp my passport there.
I’m glad you found the video helpful. When you land in Istanbul, you will go through the passport control. Then you will not need to go through when you land in Gaziantep. They have Amazing food by the way, safe travels!
@@CemalGuzelaydin Thank you for the answer. I meant that you had your passport stamped in Istanbul at the domestic airport, or you stamped your passport at the Passport Control near the visa office, and then you went to the domestic airport, or did you go directly there and stamp your passport there?
@@ramaroro7175 not sure where the visa office is, as I am Turkish I do not need one. There is one big passport control point when exiting the international terminal, that’s where the passport is stamped.

Hi there. At about 9minutes you mention there are desks to check in for non Turkish nationals before passport control. I’m from uk so do we need to go there before passport control. I’m flying from uk to Izmir next week. Many thanks
Cheers, Scott. Safe travels.
Thanks for the video, but i have a question concerning passport control, I am traveling from Beirut (Lebanon) to Izmir, and will have a layover in Istanbul. I was wondering what to do once arriving to Istanbul, like do we have to go directly to the domestic departure gates to go to Izmir and mark my entrance (entry stamp) at Imzir, or I have to go through this process in Istanbul and mark my entry at Istabul
You need to get your passport stamped in Istanbul, then head towards domestic terminal for your flight to Izmir
@@CemalGuzelaydin ok thank you so much, and where do I stamp my passport, at the passport control right? then head to domestic departure
@@MhamadZeiny that’s correct
@@CemalGuzelaydin Bedankt!!! Actually I am heading in one single ticket from Beirut to Izmir but have a 2 hours overlay in Istanbul, I was a little bit worried about the time if it's enough since the airport is really huge and was wondering if they directly transfer my luggage to Izmir airport or i have to check on them at istanbul
@@MhamadZeiny it depends whether you have a connecting flight with same airlines or a different one. Normally, if it is Turkish Airlines for both flights, they would transfer your luggage. Best is to check with your airlines to confirm.

Welcome, bro. Hope you're enjoying Rotterdam!!
Thanks, so far going fine! 🙏🇳🇱
You do need Dutch. English is the language of business. It has been for centuries. Dutch is the language of our heart. So without it socialising will remain difficult., true integration impossible.
I totally agree with you. Hope I can learn a bit..
Great video, but you mist the part of being a feyenoorder( fan) we dont like leather seats or heathers.. we are feyenoord, because we are the people of Rotterdam, nothing more and nothing less.. we dont glow because we have a friend that got us business seats😔we work hard to Pay for our ticket and we are proud of that. We stand together thrue hard work and honeysty and that is what this city and our club is build from
Dankjewel Ronald! You are the true spirit of a real fan, the type of fan who works hard for his pay and spends it for his beloved club. That would be probably me back in my hometown, I remember as a young teenager, going to see matches of my club with my limited pocket money.. please keep your true fan passion and hope to see Feyenoord as Eredivisie champions this year!
Nice video man it's a great club when we will be champion (what we probaly will be) u should visit that game it probaly will be incase love you God and Jesus bless u

If you only need a car every once in a while car sharing services are a great option :) Greenwheels or MyWheels or other ones: we have about 6 within walking distance, and we have never not had one available when we needed one. They unlock with an app and for short rentals (a few hours) they are really good value. For longer-term rent, Snappcar (where you rent someone's personal vehicle) is a slightly less convenient but cheaper option.
Ey, welcome to the Netherlands, hope you'll continue to enjoy your stay here
Thanks, I hope so!
Great video. It is always good to see you uploading a video. I wish you best of luck becoming a referee on Eredivisie :)
Teşekkürler Ömer. Eredivisie might be a long shor but see where the journey takes me. Thanks for watching!
Nice to hear you're doing okay. With a positive attitude you will receive good service anywhere. I do not think there will be any problem with the KNVB, you'll be a referee soon. So maybe we can see you on television, in 'De Kuip'!
Lol thanks! I think Eredivisie is far away. But I want to see how far I can go and being a bond referee is always better than staying as a vereniging ref. I have been to De Kuip twice as a fan, amazing experience!

Frankly, although I'm Dutch, the original Dutch cuisine isn't that spectacular. Besides fish like herring, cod and eel, it seems to mostly consist of hardy, potato-based stews or simple combinations of poultry/fish/meat, potatoes, and vegetables. Most of the stews seem based on farmers recipes to feed the field workers whom had to work outside in a cold and wet climate and could use the calories to keep warm while working. The recipes out of the cities are also simple, which may have to do with a Calvinistic mindset which meant one had to subdue ostentatious expressions of wealth and pride. Even if one could afford exquisite six course meals it simply was seen as an affront to actually display such a lavish lifestyle. As a result "typical Dutch food" is quite simple and not really exciting. Don't get me wrong; I love Dutch recipes and find them often delicious, but am realistic enough to know it doesn't really stand out compared to other national food traditions. Even if you are treated to a traditional festive meal by the Royal Dutch Navy - which I once had the pleasure of - you will be served traditional Indonesian food from our former colonies. Luckily there are some more festive recipes like pancakes and it's miniature cousin "poffertjes". I will throw in "Stroopwafels" as a Dutch delicacy too, but that can hardly be seen as a base for a meal. Don't let this discourage you from trying traditional Dutch dishes even when restaurants serving them are not easy to find. Most of them are easily made yourself with plenty of recipes to be found online. If they're only in Dutch try Google Translate 😉. Mind you, many recipes seem to focus on Dutch pastry like Apple Pie
Thanks! I wish i could get food from the Royal Navy. That’s the beauty of being a local lad, you experience things foreigners cannot easily access. The food shopping is so cheap and options are so many that food has not been a problem so far.

Having a great time so far!
Great video. As for healthcare; you only pay 385 euros maximum each year. For clarification to some: you do not pay the 385 euros with every bill received. Lets say in January you are treated worth 1000 euros, you pay 385 (eigen risico) which means own risk. After that one payment, the rest of the year you are free of costs because your own risk is already used and paid for. So when u used your own risk payment, it's better to take advantage of it. Ever wanted to check your health in the hospital, now is the time. Make use of this so you wont have to pay the 385 the next year. In my case with extra dental insurance; I got my teeth completely fixed in one year while I only had to pay my own risk (and extra health insure costs each month of course). But the next couple of years, I did not included it in my healthcare because chances are low I need it anyway. Have a great time here in the Netherlands, Rotterdam is a great city!
Thanks for the thorough explanation! That really helps not only me but everyone who reads your comment.
@@CemalGuzelaydin @burgerwithcheese I'm not sure that's entirely correct. Things that are covered with the basic insurance have this "eigen risico" part. You can choose how high that is, but the lowest is 385 euros. With most insurance companies, you can choose to have a higher "eigen risico" to get a discount on your monthly costs tho. Using healthcare that is not covered in the basic insurance (such as dental, eyewear, fysiotherapy, specialized mental care, etc) does not affect the 'eigen risico'. So for example, having the most popular type of dental care (75% covered with a maximum of 250 euros) added to your insurance and going to a dentist for 200 euros will mean you have to pay 50 euros and 150 euros is insured but that 50 euros you pay does NOT affect the "eigen risico". If your "eigen risico" is 385 euros and you end up needing (or wanting) healthcare that is covered by your basic insurance policy, you'll still have to pay (up to) 385 euros yourself. Also be careful with things that ARE covered with your basic insurance (like hospital care), as insurance companies have contracts with specific healthcare providers. So if you need to go to a clinic or hospital to, for example, get a bloodtest, check with your insurance company to see which clinics/hospitals are (fully) covered by your policy. Most insurance companies have a "zorgzoeker" or "zorgvinder" (healthcare searcher) on their website or in an app with which you can search for specific treatments or providers in your local area and will show with whom they have a contract.
@@Stadtionalist thanks a lot, this has been a thorough explanation so I am sure that readers will understand the system better. Bedankt!

1 thing to add about the health insurance, if you dont make alot of money you can get a compensation for it to cover (up to) a very larger part of it
Dankuwel, Bas! Good to know!
Yes, if you want to practice speaking and following Dutch you should tell people. If you do not, we will switch to English indeed. It is easier in the long run to speak English but we do appreciate people trying to learn Dutch.
Thanks for your comment, Marijn! I think i still need to spark the fire inside of me. I can text and write basic things but understanding what others speak is so difficult
@@CemalGuzelaydin When my Turkish/Kurdish ex came to the Netherlands we put yellow sticky notes on everything in the house with the Dutch names. On everything. Forks, knives, curtains, doors.. you name it. We sticked a sticky on it. It was a funny sight (especially for visitors), but it worked like a charm.😁 He would learn the words subconsciously. Once he knew them he removed them. My mother 'didn't speak a word across the border', so she would continuously speak Dutch to him.. loudly. As if that would work any better.🤣 The children of my siblings did as well.. and everybody else was instructed not to switch to English to easily. Within a few months he was able to have a decent conversation in Dutch.

We are extremely direct. So simply ask/tell people you prefer it they speak in Dutch to you, they will. No hard feelings, just directly ask/tell them.
Thanks! Not an easy language though, I need to admit.

Sorry to correct you, but no smoked herring does not exist. Raw herring at the market called "Hollandse Nieuwe" and otherwise you might refer to Pickled herring.
Oh thanks! frankly speaking, I have tried that raw thing one and will never repeat but I loved the pickled ones, they taste awesome!
@@CemalGuzelaydin I never got the swallow in whole thing either. But in small chunks with onions with a toothpick flag, I like it. For pickled herring, I suggest trying the Swedish varieties, best eaten on freshly toasted white bread. Some of the traditional Dutch dishes are really good if cooked well. But there's the problem, most people can't cook very well. It's why there are so many professionals I guess. They are very good winter foods though and I recommend trying some of it. Recommended: "Rode bieten met speklapjes" "Rode kool met appel en een karbonade" "Andijvie met spekjes" "Hutspot met klapstuk" "Boerenkool met worst" "Zuurkool met stuk spek" "Spek met peren" "Pannekoeken met spel en stroop" "Pannekoek met vanilleijs en geflambeerde kersen" Any of these will be no great challenge for anyone who likes cooking, so give them a try this winter.

Again a nice video! Hope you get a lot more positive impressions about our country. Attitude of Dutch towards foreigners? Usually not that bad, and it depends on your behavior, the more positive you are, the better the reactions will be. (There are idiot everywhere, but do not mind them.) If you accept the quirky Dutch ways, they will accept you. Dutch cuisine? Usually not served in restaurants, but at home. And we have taken a lot of foreign dishes and gave them a Dutch twist. For centuries the 'high class' in the Netherlands ate according the French cuisine, so there are only a few really good Dutch foods left.
Thanks for your comment, it means a lot, especially to hear the perspective of locals like yourself, I am really excited about my new chapter here.

Thanks for your comment, Eric. In general, there is public healthcare, which is mandatory for everyone, it is deducted from the salaries. However, in majority of cases, your employer will provide you private healthcare, it is of good quality, and you can easily access a specialist.
Rotterdam is actually one of the _least_ bicycle friendly Dutch cities...
