IS THIS THE £5K DECORATING JOB OF THE CENTURY?? 💰💰

As in a previous video not too long ago, I demanded 5k to decorate any room using a brand of paint, that is enough to send you to a padded room and leave u mentally scarred. After this job, I could be of to the Bahamas 🇧🇸 to sun it up and hopefully I get plenty more of these kind of jobs. It's the first time ever we've boiled the kettle and made a coffee from this project, it's been a complete labour of love this job and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the customer and family in the making of these videos and for their involvement in this mammoth task we undertook, never thought for one minute we would be here now, celebrating this unbelievable milestone, and never to...
PART 4, THE FINALE. Did this go well?? 😱😡😭. (contains Swearing)

It's been a week to remember... on quoting this job I thought maybe 3 to 4 days to get it done. Wouldn't have bothered if it took 5 days as it ran into weekend, but using JOHNSTONE'S Paint, it made my efforts 200% harder and this job almost broke me. To the customer, you've just bought paint of the colours and probably saved a fortune when purchased, probably saved around 50% compared to decora...
KITCHEN IN ONE DAY?? Can it be done 🤔

In a contest of Crown vs Johnstone's paints... is crown any better? Well after the fiasco of the hall, can we do better in the kitchen. Let's fire up the pots and pans and cook up some colour.
YES PART 2 OF DECORATING. How hard can it be?? 😱😭
Просмотров 51328 дней назад
You'd think brand names do a good job, well in this video we will out that to the test, crown vs Johnstone's paint. Who will come out on top?? I know who my money is on. Enjoy Part 2 as I delve into the decorating job and it's like the thumbnail suggests...groundhog week as each day is beginning to repeat itself. Watch and find out why. Please give me a 👍 up and think about subscribing to my ch...

My cousin has been wanting bath removed and a low profile shower tray installed and she came to me to get the job done, and as a true family relative I accepted the challenge and you now see the finished project. Well I'm sure you'll tell me in the comments if what I'm doing is wrong or right, hopefully right and acceptable. It's not what I wanted to do, but to give my cousin what she wants I have to do things, some might not agree with, but I have done my research and this is the way iv done it according to what iv read. Please comment down below. Thanks

you'll need a building warrant from Fife Council for the works, door will need to be fireproof....and hello from a fellow Fifer
@1973scotia Thanks for the reply. Yeah we looked further into it and looks like building control Fife council to authorise and advise. And like I thought a fire door would be a must. Great to have a local on board 👍
He needs to get you on the garden next lol
Aye we're waiting on that lol
Well done mate. You have made a cracking job of that house. What a difference from what it looked like at the start. Well done
Yeah thanks buddy...hopefully get another job like this to get our teeth into. Thanks for great comment 👍
Well done mate working in gods country
@@davidroy3164gods country? That job has sometimes been hell 😂😂
Chin up big man we’ve all been there
Thanks for replying 👍👍
Nice job big stuff
The walls to the shower should be lined with a waterproof membrane such as Schluter Kerdi. Also, the plasterboard and plastered wall should have a tile backer board, I prefer to spec a cementitious board as this moves at the same rate as the tiles. The Kerdi can be dressed down into the shower for a totally waterproof enclosure. The other issue is the floor tiles, as presumably they have been laid direct to the timber floor without a debonding membrane, so that due to differential movement between the tiles and floor the grouting will have hairline cracking. It also would have been better to have the floor tiling under the shower tray as there is now a shallow trough where water will collect and rot the flooring timber. The problem with showers is that a good deal of water is tracked out of the shower on to the tiling that then migrates under the tiling via the hairline cracks and the inevitable breakdown of any sealant between the floor tiles and the shower tray. Silicone sealant should only be considered as a finishing trim not as primary waterproofing. The trouble with all this is that by the time that problems become noticeable the damage is done. The last installation of this type I inspected there was a small stain on the ground floor ceiling. The whole shower installation looked sound but when it was stripped out, large fruiting fungus bodies, the size of dinner plates were found and the main floor joist had rotted and required strengthening.
Yeah I hear u mate and thanks for the feedback, unfortunately don't have the budget for all that, it was done for health reasons and hopefully iv done as best job I can with what I had to deal with...had it of been my own job I would have tanked the lot and spent a lot longer on it...but since it's only bathroom in the house and my cousin was needing it, it had to be done that way. Don't kill me for it lol, it's just one of those situations and jobs.
@@diggerdrum Trust me, I fully understand the limitations, I just felt it was necessary to inform all those watching what the best current spec was. I am an Architect with 40+ years of post qualification experience and have seen a great many iterations on the spec for bathroom renovations over the years and each version has had its faults. IMO it is only now that we have finally got to a point where we have a reliable spec that actually works and that is what I described. Lets hope that the installation for your cousin serves them for as long as they need it, at which point it will have been a success.
what adhesive are you using to stick the shower tray down?
Used blue circle rapid set mix, u can use tile adhesive as well but either way as long as it gets full contact with tray. Used it loads of times and never had an issue.
thanks for the helpful video
@@force62 your welcome 😊👍

Don't know what that means but thanks. I'm sure it's a compliment
Nice video of what you completed.
Aye its been a big one but it's good to see it come together finally lol
Nice to see some of your skills, but more of the process would have been nice to see. So I can nick your skills and do them myself, but never mind we have B&Q videos showing us that and many more RUclips videos. Or, it could be a 'I'm not doing all that!' I'll just get that guy in.
Thanks for the comment mate and yes I know what u mean. When I filmed this I forgot my camera and only had my phone so didn't have a way of filming... but there will be plenty more proper vids to come real soon, showing the process from start to finish.
Hi buddy, this customer wants side fence replaced real soon, so I'll do my best to film it and show more action. Hopefully weather will still be nice hopefully lol
Glad to see u back buddy job looks mint chris from swansea

I'm kind of glad it didn't have to be done, would have at least been a double coat and a lot more preparation to aviod nicotine reacting with plaster or showing thru. Looks different when painted white tho eh? Lol
