Open Door Mission is a faith and evidence-based recovery program and facility helping the homeless in Houston TX since 1954. We’re dedicated to transforming the lives of the most severely addicted, destitute, homeless and disabled men in our community for free.

What they don't show you is the disease ridden rats in the attic. The holes in the roof that leak in the dorms when it rains. The stale and expired food they serve and the bed bugs that bite at night. Wouldn't one think a muti million dollar corporation would have better accommodations for people that's struggling instead of being looked upon as a lower lifeform? This place is no good. There are drugs and alcohol there and the staff is arrogant and self centered. The holier than thou syndrome is ramped at this place. 2 thumbs down!!!

I pass by every week on my way to the corner store. I've been an alcoholic since I was 17 and the Star of Hope didn't help. God bless you all.

Its really cool what you do
I use to smoke and swallow marijuana then I rinse my mouth with Listering and I became addicted to alcohol
open door mission changed my life as well.. i found my spirituality, sobriety an piece of mind there. thankfull for all the great staff to guide us through our journey. i have been clean for 13 months with no relapses
