what 10k in 3 month. this is below average.. this is not even 1,5k monthly after taxes,.. why would someone work for so less? Upwork and all the other freelancing platforms are such a scam, to get cheap work done. Poor Companies using it to get cheap work. often they have to hire afterwards someone so they really get what they want. so its just a waste of money if you Hire on Fiver, Upwork and co. also your 100k is very less for 1 year. how do you pay bills with that? after taxes and rent, morgage. there is nothing left for food. idk how do you survive? so many youtuber.. talking about making money.. but they are on youtube.. get it..?!? If you have no Income proof, shut up and stop scamming people.

Hi Nico, I really appreciate your work and your efforts to help freelancers like us. I wanted to share something with you based on my experience. Not all clients are the same, and just like people, they vary, sometimes depending on the country they’re from. I’ve noticed many times, about 50% of the time, that freelancers win jobs even though their bids might rate 2 out of 10 if judged objectively. Sometimes their proposals are just one or two lines, and most of the time, they are copy-paste templates. Even their profile pictures-if rated-might be 5 out of 10, with some even using images of animals or other graphics. Yet, they win the job. So, my point is: why do they win the job? It’s not because of their profile picture or cover letter. It’s because they have a good number of reviews and have completed many jobs. Often, clients are looking for freelancers with a good success rate or positive reviews. This example is based on my experience with Freelancer.com, but I believe Upwork works similarly. And one more thing-most of the time, clients don’t even scroll to the second page or look through all the proposals. The reason I say this is that many of my bids haven’t even been viewed by the client. So, I believe it also has to do with the algorithm. No matter how hard you try, if Upwork or Freelancer.com doesn’t prioritize your bid or put it at the top, you’re unlikely to get the job. The reason I’m saying this is because I’m new to Upwork, and after 3 months, I’m still looking for my first job. I’ve submitted many well-crafted proposals, some even including actual samples tailored to the client's job, but with no response. This proves that clients tend to prefer those with ratings or a good job success rate, even if the proposal quality is not the best. Thanks again for your videos. I’ve learned so much from them.

The main issue I’m facing is the extremely low budgets offered by clients. We focus on developing mobile applications and applications for cryptocurrency and blockchain, which doesn’t seem like it should be inexpensive, as it requires solid expertise and there's a limited number of professionals in this field. But when you spend a week talking with a client, really getting into their needs, suggesting solutions, and then finally quote a price of $900 only to find out they have just $200, it makes me question if UpWork is the right path. My team is based across Europe and Asia, and I understand that working for a week for $200 is simply not feasible, even in places like India. This is the core issue right now-almost every project ends up with a problem around pricing. What’s the best way to handle this? I’d be grateful if you could share any advice or connect me with agency owners in the software development field.

First of all, you need to understand why people use copy-paste templates. I am not talking about those who have good reviews and have done a lot of jobs. They shouldn't use this approach at any cost. As a beginner, I personally don’t use them, but I try to submit proposals as quickly as possible, within 5-10 minutes. Despite this, 95% of my proposals aren't seen by clients. So, what's the point of crafting a perfect proposal if the client never sees it? As I mentioned, I am new to upwork. You might say that experienced freelancers with many reviews and high job success rates rank higher in the bid section. But for newcomers like me, submitting quick proposals is crucial to getting noticed. To do this, we either use copy-paste templates or write short proposals with just a few lines. This approach gives us a better chance of being seen by clients compared to not being seen at all. All the RUclips expert suggest that beginners should target jobs with only 5-10 or 5-15 proposals. But to be honest, within 2-3 minutes, most postings have more than 15 proposals. In short, what I am trying to say is, how can I craft the kind of proposal you are suggesting within 2-3 minutes? You need to think from a freelancer’s perspective. Despite my efforts, none of my bids have been seen over the past month, and I haven't landed any work.
