Ahhhhhh why is there a context box for nwo? This kind of scares me
I have no idea! Wasn't something I added.
Well, some episodes are really good, some not so much, but this one is a WASTE OF TIME.
This episode is the same as the one titled “Ringing the changes”.
Another disappointing ending.
🤔I wonder why in this episode the name of the pseudo-author of this LUDICROUS story is not revealed. One thing is certain, they must hate Polish people in order to present them in such a negative light. Well, one ethnic group becomes obvious (infamous for being double agents/spies who sold classified info to the higher bidder), and since 1947, they control/dominate all aspects of the media and the world.👎👎👎
Thanks very much. I always meant to get to this classic.
Thank you! Hope you liked and subscribed...still have lots of stuff to upload!
The background noise is very annoying.
You have posted the SAME play using at least 2 different titles.
Would you let me know which ones I will fix them
@ A play called „Gerald” is incorrectly titled as a „Screaming skull”.
@@XyzXyz-mm9vq thank you I deleted the Screaming Skull...I will see if I can find the actual episode

@@PenguinOldTimeRadio Thank you☺️
I hate to say this but she asked for it.
This recording is from the 1980s, and yet the sound quality is so poor that one would think it was recorded in the 1920s👎
A very disappointing ending.
❤❤❤
This episode’s storyline had a really good potential with an interestingly eerie start. But then the plot lost its momentum and went all over the place and ended with a disappointment.

Charles Willoughby:"Goodbye, my Dear...Dead...Dear!!!" That line, followed by one of the most evil laughs I've ever heard, burnt a lasting impression into my psyche! However, after killing her Lover, by sending him off a Cliff in a fit of absolute terror, through the power of Astral Projection and Subliminal Suggestion, Mr. Willoughby, whose body was left behind, while his Spirit was hounding his Wife's lover. suddenly experiences a Fatal Heart Attack... leaving Mr. George Willoughby's Spirit out of his body, and then the terror REALLY begins! (according to this Science-fiction adventure into spine-tingling Horror).
American....
I really enjoyed listening to this recording. Thank you for uploading!
you are welcome!
I don't know why I keep coming back to this book over and over. There's just something about it.
It is pretty much my most viewed upload...there must be something to it I don't really understand either...but I hope it does something positive for you.
@@PenguinOldTimeRadio It is a *brilliant* narration, too, that likely helps. :) Thanks for the upload!
I appreciate you Penguin Old Time Radio.
Thank you so much!
An excellent radioplay of an excellent book. Even with all our nuclear weapons, we have nowhere near the power of a single vulcanic explosion or meteor strike. When havent the power to threaten Earth. Not even close. Not yet. Whats more, humanity has repeated survived greater disasters than we could yield, even with every weapon we have ever had time three, or so. So a nuclear holocaust would destroy our global civilization, but not humanity. The scary thing, tho, is the survivors will know we survived and nuclear war will remain on the table for the next round. How many rounds of nuclear apocolypse would be required for a knock-out blow? Earth will abide, of course. And i guess the extinction of humanity is no big deal compared to all the extinctions life has endured. But how long will life have to escape ita Earthly confines? And is there time enough after us for another opportunity to escape?
The voice of the monk at the beginning sounds like pops from the regular show! lol
It's very nice that you are using many voices! Those who are hard of hearing, you might find that some of the whispery, elderly voices are challenging. This is one of my old favorite books. If you know nothing of monastic life or medieval religion, this will be something like an alien world, but you will come away knowing more about Western culture than you'd expect.
This is a very powerfull book best ending out of any book
NPR in the day. I heard this many years ago and found the book at Powells later. Incredible story, and a world class adaptation.
Right? This reading is A+++
Thank you. I am struggling with what will become of our world now that ignorance & greed will come to power over every known virtue. I’m trying to stay with the living. Late night is the worst time. Great stories help.
I wonder what will happen in the future as well...Please continue to stay with the living....nights are dark...lonely...but the sun will come up tomorrow...bet your bottom dollar on tomorrow. Somewhere there is someone...and they need you. Do not let them down as others have let you down. That is the path to the end. Please stay safe and stay with us.
Maybe try to get a grip on reality and stop believing in propaganda.
Don't worry, you'll soon be catching lizards and have unclean thoughts in the desert like all of us!
"Every known virtue" 😂
I'm listening to this...listened to it... for 2 days following the election of doom (lol?) Anyways...thank you for the distraction, and the distillation of my thoughts. I've unplugged from media (sans this specific sort) and am being in the present moment.. "For it is the doom of men... that they forget..".. Good luck everyone in the purge.... I'll record it all from under my rock in nowhere Australia.... Signed, The Texan Abbott of Americus, Australasia....

There was a time when National Public Radio broadcast a lot of dramatizations and plays. Those days are long over.
@@dlxmarks I remenber...loved CBS Radio Mystery Theater every night before bed!
The quality of the production is very similar (I’d say equal) to NPR’s Star Wars audio dramatizations (all three of the original movies were dramatized for radio) from the 80s… if you at all enjoyed the movies, and the qualities of this audio production appeal to you, you’ll probably really dig them… definitely recommend that you give them a listen!
@@dlxmarksI remember those from when I was a kid. I must’ve caught the tale end of that era, since I was in kid in the mid 2000s.

Such a great interpretation for such a great story. Amazing acting, you could imagine to be watching a movie with the great actors that contributed their voices. This is a story that becomes sadly relevant once more, since history does rhyme cyclically. Curiously, this is the ffirst time I know about this book, but I included independently a few similar ideas in my recently published comicbook.
