You're now staring at the ceiling, not saying a word; knowing that it was just a dream and everything and everyone is ok, yet you still feel the everlonging dread, knowing that it might happen some day. You wonder why you did nothing in said dream. Was it because you didn't care? Was it because you didn't know what to do? Either way, you begin to slowly forget the fine details, as if they were ashes being blown by the wind, only burn marks under where the ashes used to be pictures. As you silently weep in your nightlit bedroom, you feel too afraid to go back to sleep, worrying that your nightmare might reoccur. You get up once you've cried your last tear, slowly walking as an injured soldier at war towards your fridge. You grab a glass of water and bring it back to your bed. You sit down. You feel comfortable. The water seems to have cured your wounds, except one, analogous to the burn marks left behind by the ashes. It already happened.
