Mambo basics

Since I'm working on rudiments, I decided to revisit an old book of NARD (National Association of Rudimental Drummers) solos. This one is named Willie Weaver and probably intended to be played at a tempo twice what I play here.

Mark, my weekly work on rudiments. I am amazed that I hear the metronome and still constantly ignore it.

Mark recommended this exercise, that I think I have played, to help get bass drum in sync with left hand and left foot ostinato. I did set kit to a "so callled" Chinese sound. Do I understand the routine?
