Great video… I am looking to get the Campero, seems to me a great knife. The thing is that I most often carry my Esee Izula II, Cudeman Sanabria 2, Esee CR 2.5 (nice!!!) and my Joker Erizo in olive handles… I do own an Esee PR 4 which I really like… ah and an Esee 3 but I keep the 3 in my car. It seems that even though I am looking for an excuse to get the Campero, it seems that I always reach for my small knives… but I always bring my PR4 just in case!… Man…! I need a good excuse to get the elusive Campero !!!!!!!!! regards

Instead of holding the step when tightening. Grab the slack from the LEFT side of the step and pull all the slack out. Then pull the tail to get them solid and they won't pull away like that.

Throw the processed oils out and use beef tallow or some type of animal fat for frying, you'll live longer. Part boil those potatoes before you fry em, thinner they are the quicker they cook. Once you done boiling throw in cold water to stop them cooking. Then pat down dry and let them air for a bit before you but them in the animal fat.

Everyone does things differently. I would of cut them more like french fries ( thinner , cooks faster ) when using that much oil to cook them in. My oil of choice for fries is Bacon fat or Lard, otherwise Olive oil for sauteing. Your right that skillet & lid is really god

Here is a tip for you when frying taters. Boil them first until soft the fry them. They will be way better. BTW throw that bottle of crisco in the trash. Get sunflower or safflower oil or even peanut oil. Your cooking will be way better too. Nice video. I enjoyed it.

Fyi. These have been around for ever. They where one of the first options for light weight public land hunters. I used them back in the day and still keep a couple in my pack when I need to get a few more feet but don't want to bring an extra stick. The nice thing about them is that they fit in your pack. Unlike sticks that dangle / strap to the out side of your pack . If you hunt really thick areas they are a good option. . My loan wolf mini sticks with aiders are all I run now but I will sometimes throw one or 2 of these in my pack just to get a little higher.

Please be careful using the hawk ropes! I bought thier saddle 3 years ago and the ropes that come with the kit .. got two hunts in with it and the eye of the tether rope failed on me.. the inside strands had busted.. luckily I don’t weigh a lot so the outer sheath of the rope held me from falling but I will never use those soft ropes again.. I now use a 13mm static rope as my tether now … hopefully somebody will read this and get safer safety equipment to prevent an accident

I don’t see an advantage here over four sticks and a two step aider. Id want 12 steps with about 20” between them. That’s about 7-8lbs in steps, about what my sticks weigh. Ive used an aluminum step and it kicked out badly to the point I felt like I wasn’t going home each time out. To me, sticks are solid, quieter, and much faster. Just my $0.02 nobody asked for but if you’re honest with yourself, sticks set correctly stay put.

It's nice to see the hunting & arborist gear becoming a hybrid. My contribution is that the time spent the day of the hunt should be minimized by scouting many months earlier. Many months earlier is the last 2 weeks of February & all of March. When I had warm weather here in MN on the 1st day of the year I setup 2 spots on 2000 acres of public land. The week b4 when it was very hot & raining hard on X-mas so I pedaled my bike to another spot & set that up too. I will wait until March to check a cam I put 20 ft. up in a 🌳. More to check the card & clear it & maybe no batteries. I then plan to setup a new area I've stayed out of for 2 yrs. I need to setup that spot cuz woodvine wrecked that spot & u can't fix that in September w/o blowing up the whole area. When I hunt in September I go in clean & from getting to the base of my 🌳 to stand height is 5 minutes. That is also being stealthy & safer than having a full body harness hooked to a line next to an intrusive ladder. The future is mobility & all that is needed is a 12-14 ounce bean bag & some 550 paracord. Once u get that up over a branch u hook the paracord to a arborist climbing rope. I recommend the Sterling 9.5mm Super Static. Once u get your mechanical advantage climbing system incorporated into your climbing rope & hook it to the bridge on your saddle u ascend the 🌳 quietly w/o working up a sweat. It's like pulling a 200 pound deer up a 🌳 & it only feels like 50 pounds. The key is after season scouting. Finding a ser of antlers shed in February or March tells u nothing about the 🦌 u r hunting the next fall. It only tells u where he spent the winter months. Your time is better spent setting up areas for the upcoming year so you get antlers connected to a skull plate. Not to mention all the meat that comes with it. The nice thing is that if u come across some hot sign during the rut that with some arborist throwline that u can get your bean bag or throw-bag over a union in the 🌳 on those days where the wind is blowing & be up @ stand height quickly. The arborist throwline is just more efficient & I recommend the bright green limp line. Stay away from the blue stuff that hasn't worked well. It's very simple to get down in the dark on an evening hunt to hook 550 paracord to your climbing line u just used to descend to the ground with & hook that paracord to your climbing line & leave it over a branch & attach it 6 to 7 feet above the ground so u can come back to that spot to hunt again when the conditions r right. Doing arborist work w/o using cleats on my boots with a linesman belt has shown me a way to keeping myself from becoming a parariplegic. A linesmans belt with just a foothold isn't safe on a tree that is like a telephone pole. U can put a floater to choke down the slack on your linesman which just takes a close ended prusik hooked into a good carabiner that attaches to the opposite side of the tree onto your linesman but I haven't seen anyone do this in any video when they r ascending a tree with climbing sticks yet. U don't have to fall to the ground to die when u r up in a tree. All u have to do is lose your foothold to die from suspension trauma which does happen to people that don't have a backup in their system. Many times I've been up in a 🌳 that I've used 2 climbing lines hooked to my saddle & I use my linesman belt with a floater or choker when I am removing limbs from a tree high above the ground. That's on private land. When I'm on public it's all about getting in & out clean. 😮😅
