Hi, I am a Korean student in Frankfurt writing master thesis regarding Tibet, and I just got to know Dr. Elliot while I was citing one of his workings. One thing led to another, I read wikipedia page about the professor and I was interested, watched his lectures and interviews through youtube and then I just had to know him because now I was fascinated. Then I found this video and now I am so happy to get to learn about his life. He was a smart, funny, warm and brave person who stands up for the weak. I never personally got to know him in my life, but I do want to live a life like the professor Sperling. He is so inspiring figure, in such a lot of ways. Thank you so much for sharing his story. I just found out Eliot Sperling passed away back in 2017. I had contacted him once through email about historical religious repression in Tibet under the CCP and had much of his writings. He and Sergey Kuzmin (author of "Hidden Tibet: History of Independence and Occupation") were perhaps the best Tibetologists I've come across in my life! Rest In Peace Eliot Sperling!
