Marton Mere Holiday Park, Blackpool in the 1990s
Просмотров 9132 месяца назад
A short slide show of stills from my visit to Marton Mere Holiday Caravan Park in Blackpool in 1991, 1992 and 1994. Marton Mere was named Marton Mere Park back in the early 90s and upto to the late 90s I think, years before it was owned by Haven Holidays. I have't come across any videos of the park prior to it being owned by Haven, and photos seem to be hard to find. Back in the 90s anyone coul...

Why would you include Barry Humpries aka Dame Edna ?? Nobody in the States would have heard of him...ridiculous
I think it's because Heston appeared on a Dame Edna show once where he pretends to fall down steps after standing up from a wheelchaire and the audience laughs as he does so. Alot of Brits who watched that show wiill remember him appearing on it. He may've been a frend of Barry Humfries. Benny Hill was a British comic and he had a big following in America, so maybe Dame Edna did as well. Dame Edna was popular in Australia I think.
There are certain actors meant for the Big Screen Charlton Heston is definitely one of them.
Heartbeat wasn’t the same after he left
This guy is amazing.I wonder if he would come here to America and knock down the dis used chimneys we still have in Pennsylva.Does anyone know how to contact him?
I'm surprised that no manufacturer of men's caps, back then didn't use Fred for their advertising. Who better than Fred could they have chosen. It could have been the Dibnah Cap. 😊
I doubt very much if there is a man in the U.K. today, who has the skills and knowledge that Fred had, be it repairing and rebuilding steam engines or as a steeplejack, including the demolition of huge chimneys.
Yes that’s the late great Dibnah
Good'On ya Fred' been able to celebrate with family. I just wish he were still alive
The Equaliser was great
That's how it goes, as much as he was able to put together a steam engine and drop a chimney, and that is saying something, he couldn't keep his family together. And it happened again. There is only so much a wife and family can put up with.
Even the extension which he built onto his house was an incredible piece of workmanship. And I daresay that Fred completed that to a higher specification, than your average building contractor would have done. From such humble beginnings, he achieved great things in his life. His life was cut short, but it wasn't a life wasted, considering everything that he accomplished. He became a national treasure, which was fully deserved. R.I.P. Fred, you were a great man.
I ain’t come across these b4, I do like a bit of Fred, read his book years ago,he’s an absolute legend.
Since watching Monty Pythons The Meaning Of Life I cant take church hyms seriously, I just remember the sermon and the school song every time I hear hyms!
I cant go into a church without the Monty Python sketch playing through my mind, "Oh God ooh you are so big!" I fI were a steeple jack I would have fallen off the first one laughing!
She did end up leaving him for another man, its the kids that suffer the most when a married couple divorce! and the mans bank account! The church of England have never been short of money as they never spend anything on their properties, they lay that burden on their congregations, they first get them to invest their hearts in the building and then their bank accounts!
Whats the flash point of your cap 😅😂😂
The very fact Fred pulled her in his fifties gives me hope, I just wouldn't want a women in my workshop
Broke my heart when Kate died
Excellent stuff always sorts me out
I wonder why these women decided to marry Fred then suddenly file for divorce and stick their hand out for half the second they got the chance?
Interesting. In a different Fred Dibnah episode he charged £350 to fall a chimney. In this one he charged £1000. No wonder he had a party in his back garden at the end 😂
The stuff he says is what most men are thinking
"I'm only a bum who climbs up chimneys".....A few footballers and rock stars could do with taking a lesson from that statement. Guy was so humble and down to earth with everybody and as such admired by so, so many ! RIP Fred.
Lol...Alt'kids givin him a lift...that's how it was back then. No chance of that happening now !
That p a k I trying to groom Fred ,looks a very dodgy bstrd.
Fred was laughing outside for the cameras but crying inside 😢
Used to sneak in the swimming pool with my friends from the neigbouring estate when i was 7-10yr old 😅
3.30.mins Ronnie's got some bottle. 🤔👍🇫🇷🇫🇷
This woman left and hurt him when he told her your gonna leave for a younger man she said no im not I dont care about that, after two kids what does she do..break up a family.
That woman left a good man.
The ghost wasn't wrong. Desavary stripped the house bare. Evil man.
So the interviewer says he's OK but I'd heard he'd died! So where is he?? He'd better still be alive or I'll be pissed!
The film involved is "Where's Jack?", released in 1969.
Love bill maynard lovely man RIP

Where Was Bradley
They didn't have Bradley Bear then as it wasn't owned by Haven Holidays then.
@@Embracing01 oh yes, do you have any bradley
I was 14 on that day. I do miss the 90s.
a unique British legend, i hope at the end he still had contact with his kids, didn't know his marriage to Allison broke down, RIP Fred your legend is now cast in Iron you would be proud of thanks to today's technology, quite ironic given your love was the Industrial Age, Go well
them were the days when you could admit to Insurance fraud on national TV. what a legend carry on RIP Fred, your legend lives on forever
Did he ever finish the 2nd tractor?
He did. Used on his tour of industrial Britain. His last series. Struggled with the travelling, as quite poorly at that point.
How cheeky was that clothes salesman
Fred is so right about us being like the end of the Roman Empire. Britain was on the downfall as soon as we entered WW1
If you're not satisfied, don't pay me! The polar opposite of a rogue trader! What a gentleman.
I remember him well, god rest his busy soul and wonderful mind, i remember his steam engine well, he was pals with my second cousin so we met him many times
Shame he knocked his wife about
I personally appreciate an old fashioned man. My husband is very old fashioned, it’s a blessing I appreciate. Fred was very intelligent and full of humor, a real old fashioned character, there few and far between. Cherish them because when they leave this mortal coil there’s no replacing sadly .
