This group was the most cohesive, disciplined and dedicated group I marched with. We had a single goal and we worked all day every day to achieve it. I remember the baritone line tracking after hours and doing pushups anytime anyone in the line made a mistake. We did pushups so much we got yelled at by the staff and told to knock it off during ensemble... Pushups were lick a tick or nervous habit. We just did them, all the time, alone or as a unit. I remember in '95 the low brass had a set of 200 pushups because some people were slacking. All the vets were like "200 push ups, ok, and then what?"

First Circle was my favorite part of this show to march. Still can't believe how much I disliked this show back then, only to have fallen deeply in love with it now.

Oh how I miss small corps. Being on the west coast back in the early 90's, I always looked forward to seeing the Mandarins and Vanguard Cadets every summer.

My brother and I played with the Kenosha, WI Kingsmen for many years, in the 60's era. The Best Of Times ! He played with old St Pats for 1 season. This past summer 2024, I needed to see the ANG base in MKE and saw that The Pioneer buses and property are still there.

lol one of our sops joined the corps at age 22.

You'd have to stand down field from these guys because they stink.

The activity, started to really decline, it was the end of a great drum and bugle Corps era eventually it turned into a marching band competition as it is today former member of the Long Island sunrises❤❤😢😮

50th anniversary year. close, but no finals until 10 years later. wind was whipping through rich stadium from left to right, severely impacting the volume of the horn line. sounded okay on this recording, but live it was bad. proud to have worn that uniform. go BAC

Thanks for this. I'm the contra solo at the beginning. I was trying so hard not to laugh as our contra tech said "BIG ORGAN!" just loud enough so that I heard him. Damned near missed my entrance, but I love him for that.

Apologies :) but this televised competition was from Whitewater, Wisconsin; right before finals week in Montreal, which for whatever reason (money?) wasn’t broadcast this one year (‘81). I *always* love to watch and listen to this footage from ‘81; it’s some of the best, and this was a live crowd. Pray up.

Castle Park was a Powerhouse. I marched the last AWBR in November 1983. Afterwards, West Arcadia became the target to aim for I believe. Thank you for uploading these fantastic memories.
