    Firstly I would never start a shell with root permissions. Instead I would use sudo -k rm -rf * to elevate that one command to root. Then a "!rm" would execute some earlier rm that was not with root privileges. The -k option to sudo removes any cached credentials, so if I typed "!sudo", it would ask me for the password again - giving me a chance to ^c out of it.

    When I try to install with the same procedure, I get only a small window with partial contents. Tried with several different options, XFCE, Gnome, changed resolution etc. Unable to get full screen.

      @smurthygr are ubusing a laptop or desktop. Are u using vmware ? Make sure the video drivers om your laptop are updated. Then before the installation right click in the vm and change the display settings. Increase the resolution. Let me know if that helps

      @@TheTechHighPriest I use an Intel NUC desktop. allocated 16GB RAM/30 GB to the guest in VMWare Workstation Pro. All are uptodate. Tried everything. Still same problem. Only a small window and partial contents. Tried with various Fedora spins and also Xubuntu, same result.

    I appreciate the video. I was curious about the title and what command you were referring to. That would be absolutely correct. I think people would know this if they had any time in the industry. But it seems Unix/Linux CLI is a dying art.       @@byronbrimstone5163 Actually, God created Stallman! Before Stallman, there was God, and He used the same open-source code of life to create all of us, reflecting His image. Just like the beauty of open-source, life itself is designed to be shared, learned from, and built upon. Stallman tapped into that concept in tech, but it’s been in creation since the very beginning!

    I love Linux, Microsoft Inc. said I can't use my 8-year-old laptop, and though it was disappointing, I said okay and moved to Linux, which not only improved my technical skills but also allowed me to appreciate the capabilities of my "redundant" hardware.

    It may be worth noting that if you upgrade from Fedora 40, you don't lose X11. I was worried because there are some things I still prefer a Gnome on Xorg session for, and when I upgraded to Fedora 41, the choice of X was still there. Of course, on a new installation, your only choice will be Wayland, but if you're upgrading from a version of Fedora that already supported X, it will not delete it when you upgrade through Fedora's default upgrade method.

    I remember using openSUSE back in the early 2010s and it was smooth. I can imagine the enterprise version being very solid. Where I live and work, Ubuntu is the standard (although I personally use Debian when I'm not on Windows).

      @oniflrog4487 I have also used Susse while supporting customers from Aws. I also like Debian but i prefer the Ubuntu Desktop. Today, I just migrated all my kids to Fedora. No more windows for them.
