I would like a concert with both Alison and Chris Botti, on the same stage. I would just like to hear their two sounds, to me both are marvelous, Alison in a much wider genre but, just because someone cannot, or wishes to not, cross over a wide range of repertoire, does not nonetheless, mean that person does not convey an enormous sense of beauty and sound. Look around, how many truly wonderful trumpet players do we have performing?

Does she have perfect pitch??? It seem effortless!! Lovely!

Alison Balsom is simply a many faceted gift, as a person as well as a musician, who eligently shows us the trumpet instrument family in its many different and delightful forms and levels. We are so fortunate to ave her attention and charms.

At last, I've been waiting to here Balsam play Jazz, and when she does, it's like she's playing a classical concerto. Just hasn't got that swing, Dissapointed. Although I have to say the first number she played (sounded like a Film score) was very good. Great tone, and very smooth. Please cut the classics and learn to play jazz. You could be the female Maynard Fergusson.
