I'm new-ish myself, having only started the middle of the year, but this is the first event or story I've seen like this, so I wouldn't call it the norm.

As a 1.1 veteran, Genshin toes the line of horror and steps right into tragedy more often than not starting from Inazuma onwards. It gets progressively darker with some happier quests and story lines, but do expect tragedy. Events tend to be much, MUCH happier though, this one threw me in for one hell of a loop

There are many more thoese story. And they are sidequest in Inazuma and the dessert.

Don’t let genshin fool u, it looks like a cute fantasy game but it’s actually sad, and has a depressing and morbid lore, u just have to read it or if ur doing quests u have to pay attention actually understand what some characters are truly trying to say

i understand i also dislike it. range can easily kite the melees. i wish they at least make the range face their target or show the target on the screen to make it kinda fair. maybe they have defensive or immunity utility to counter and to create a gap closer.

for me. it's a mobile game, so i expect they will add pay-to-win items in the future. but for now, the game didn't feel that much pay to win cause some of the content is hard. Gears won't help you if you're not doing the mechanics but if you're decent yeah surely pay to win gear will help enormously compared to f2p player and knowledgeable about the raid. in PVP, I'm afraid to say. gear matters and some of the gems can be bought through gold. i wish they add a separate gear for PVP and can only earn through playing BG and arena. this is all that I've seen so far.
