like a fish in the sea
I shall never touch land
But like a slug on the ground
I eventually reach my destination
This destination requires utmost care
For I furthermore require this thing
I can't hold it in my hand
For it is given to me by the only good spiritual being
A father hates son, and a mother hates son
Mother hates daughter and father hates daughter
But the GOD Who is TRULY alive never hated you
Just like he never will
If your willing to become his servant then he will truly heal your heart
For the spirit is willing but the body is weak
Take this to heart my friends for the second coming draws near
For when you call on the Messiah, he will truly hear
Do not be like this empty fish , for he flops around like an idiot
But instead be like the full slug who is , though slow , determined to reach his destination

Dude you killed this. Well done. 💯with you on just about every rating and enjoyed watching you get destroyed a few times by undeniable Emeralds. Peak is perfect for Rainbows. My only gripe is I don’t think you were in the right headspace for Hail to the Thief. I would add it on S tier and dole out a couple of Emeralds there myself…. Go To Sleep and There, There
This album is so perfect…everything is couched in this great guitar sound and it’s all so esoteric and malevolent and it rules! 😎
Side 2 will definitely grow on you. It's EPIC!!
Bro i like it. It's not my favorite version of it though
BEST ZAPPA REVIEW EVER!!! You are very good at this! also very insightful in your opinions, well done!
Appreciate that
To answer your question: backing vocals are done by TinaTurner and the Ikettes.
I said Tina fey 😂
Glad you enjoyed this. Here's a few tips: 1) It's Zappa, not Zoppa. 2) It's Apostrophe, not Apostraphe. Lose the overly loud background music during your dialogue. 4) Work on your editing. Good luck!
no, the music is funny. don't get rid of it
I'm not getting rid of it, but I'm gonna change it
0:12 noooooo I forgot the photo 😳
You can’t say that! It don’t and it won’t It couldn’t and it shouldn’t It hasn’t it isn’t it even ain’t He told me no no no I told him yes yes yes
7:55 Tina fey or someone
The peak of yes are Close to the Edge and Tales from topographic oceans
Hey man! I discovered you by trying to find videos of people reacting to the Lamb as Effigy by Sprain, and honestly, that reaction was AMAZING! I loved how incredibly emotional you were, and I experienced a sort of childlike joy watching you react to one of my favorite albums of all time! Keep making videos! I'll definitely keep an eye on you and sub! Btw, if possible, a reaction to Goldenwest by Ester Drang would be absolutely incredible! It's one of my favorite post-rock/dream pop albums of all time, and it'd be interesting to see what you think of it! Much love to you, friend <3
Btw, gave you a follow on AOTY!
Thanks
Drumcam bro [OGT93)
Ykw, I've seen it, and it boosted my opinion on the song greatly
Also, I realize how different the guitars are in Relayer
One of the all-time greats! In Held Twas in I is one of Rock's finest moments! "Life is rather like a beanstalk, isn't it?" Loved it since Jan 1969, one of the first albums I bought when I came back from VietNam. Still on my Favorites list.
It's amazing....I just prefer the symphony versions Symphony vs. psychedelic rock is unmatched for me But I gotta give credit to the OG In Held twas I for being one of THE first prog epics
@@AfterThaNoon I was listening to it as a "New Release" (it came out just 4 months before I came home, to the day). I've been a rocker, since I heard three versions of Alley Oop in the Summer of 1960, all released the same week. The best is the Hollywood Argyles, the others less polished, and less interesting. As for "symphonic", it's a dated format, but still vital, in the right hands. The Moody Blues used it effectively, and Procol had their bit with the Edmonton Symphony Orch, cutting the better version of Conquistador (than the one found on the 1st LP)
Yeah, I get it. I'm not someone who lived in the 60s because, as you can see, I am very young. But I can understand you seeing one of the greats because you didn't have better quality or seemingly better quality music than nowadays. Even though progressive rock, whatever from the 60s and 70s, is the better quality music for sure. Also, what's your favorite part of in held twas I. Mine is for sure look to your soul
@@AfterThaNoon First, I saw ALL the Greats, from the Beatles to the Stones, Elvis to the Doors, the Byrds to the Who, and too many to mention that probably haven't been heard from, since. I have around 3,500 vinyl records, more CDs than that, and I still have about 500 45s, mostly picture sleeves. I saw Jimi six times, and there has NOT been his equal, since, so the idea today's music is "better" doesn't hold water. "Better quality" was the norm, from my earliest memories of music, around 1954 (Bimbo, by Jim Reeves) through the Digital Age (all CDs are NOT perfect!) I had a record store in 1974, when "quadraphonic" records were state of the art. We sold them to people who didn't have quad systems, but wanted to "have the best". I saw the Beatles in 1964, using Vox stage monitors, similar to the one I lugged around (Marshall speaker cabinets 4+ feet high wouldn't come out for another two years, or so. Oh, and there were a couple thousand screaming teenage girls, too, making every sound a strain to separate into "music", from "crowd nose". I wouldn't have missed it for anything! I saw the Stones, the 1st time, a year later, and it wasn't much better, although Keith and Brian had newer amps and speaker cabs. Still a couple thousand 13-16-yr-old girls, screaming even louder. It was the same, when I saw the Yardbirds, the Kinks, and the Who, the first time. It wouldn't be until early 1966 that screaming began to fade out, with people actually listening. I played with guys who went on to fame, and we often sat around hotel rooms with acoustic guitars, playing songs everybody knew, and having a blast. Music was never about "purity" or even "clarity", because rock 'n' roll is, and always has been, about emotions. I met a Black musician in 1969, who turned me onto Mississippi Fred McDowell. What that cat could do with a slide gave me chills! I spent the next year trying to master the technique, and all of a sudden, "slide" was a big thing! I don't care for bands that are sloppy because they think it's part of the nexus of rock 'n' roll. Sloppy is just lazy playing, but it is also sometimes a by-product of the situation. If you're playing to crazed fans who scream so loud you cannot hear your monitors, what do you do? I was never at that level, but early "sound systems" were often little better than "PA systems". The Beatles played through the PA system, at Shea Stadium, in 1965, and most fans didn't hear much more than a buzzing sound, but everyone there agreed it was a blast! My best friend could play any note on a guitar, could easily figure out any song, in minutes, but he couldn't come up with anything original, to save his life. I've never played with a better guitarist, but if you said, "Take a spin" (meaning take the lead), he didn't know what to play. There are always people like that, in any business, hangers-on, who "want" to be "part" of the scene, and some succeed, far beyond the scope of their talents, or abilities. Sometimes, people like that make it, but they don't leave greatness behind, just a catalog. I could bore you with examples, but why take the fun out of finding out for yourself? There have been a lot of phonies, fake idols, and manufactured pop stars, but true genius has a way of shining through. I started messing with my speakers, early on, to get a "rougher" sound (Eddie Van Halen slashed his), and I figured out how to copy the Beatles' tone in Nowhere Man, using my first sustain pedal, because I wanted a sound that captured the feeling of the songs I was writing. The 'Sixties were a decade of change, and change is seldom a pleasant experience. The music that came out of the decade was heavily influenced by the events. VietNam, racism, the riots, the Bomb, JFK's assassination, the murders of MLK and RFK, the Space Race, and the Generation Gap were real, vital, and in-your-face. The Middle East began blowing up, the Six-Day War took us to the brink, and back, and race riots in Harlem, Watts, Detroit, and Trenton blew the old order off their comfortable perch on top of everybody. Rock 'n' roll SPOKE to my generation, amid all these, and more. The 'Sixties were unrelenting, with one new thing after another. As we progressed into the 'Seventies, drugs took over, destroying many, crippling others, evolving into the murky mess we know today, over the last six decades. It was a remarkable time, and nothing like it had existed before. Our generation invented "entertainment", as it exists, today, with rock festivals, spectacular movies, and the involvement of large percentages of the population. It was an amazing time to be young. Things were changing, daily. New faces, new sounds, new ideas, were the order of the day. Creativity was encouraged, and rewarded, if you could avoid any of the many "sharks" in the biz. The average age in America, in 1969, was 26.7 years. Today, it is 38.9 years. That in itself explains a lot of what made the era the firecracker it was. Not "improvements" in sound quality, recording technology, or any application of either. There are still echoes of it, in terms like "the youth vote", or "youth market", but there simply are not as many young people, as there were, then. .
Interesting story
hair reveal
True
I don’t know. I think the production is rather charmingly lofi. It winds up serving the music pretty well. Relayer as a whole and Gates specifically are still under regarded. Up there with anything the band ever did. Yes as outside the envelope as they ever got, and they did some serious envelope pushing. With the possible exception of parts of Tales (also criminally undersold as a general rule).
I completely agree
The TOOL ARMY SHALL GUIDE ME
OK, I’m going in deep with this video. Let’s see how you do. It’s not your fault if you don’t get this. This is kind of next level Tool. I’ve been a fan since 92 and it took me several lessons to this song alone before I fell in love. Then I saw the live drum video. It will change your life. But take it slow. This is a journey. Went to the end of the story. Ha
You’re not afraid. And you have a good musical taste. Good video. Can’t wait to see how you grow and refine it. I subscribed.
I'm not afraid of what ? Thank you for subscribing as well
OK, I’m at 4:09. Should I continue? I’m reading comments that he breaks it up in segments and doesn’t know the climax of the song is coming. That’s why this should not be his first. I guess we cannot blame him, but at least he tried. If you will allow us, the tool army will guide you, but you must be ready my son. lol

Buddy, it's my first listen, so of course I don't know that the climax is coming. It's a really long one to
I was defending you. I realize that. It’s OK , plz don’t get defensive. I’m just commenting on some other dudes comment. I’m trying to watch your video now.
Sorry. Thanks
Perhaps try their 1992 EP
Sure why not
Should not be your first tool song but….🌀🌀🌀
38:59 CREEP BETTER THAN BLOW OUT!!?!!!!?!!???
This isn't actually me. This is the yputuber called "Knight reacts," as said in the title However, I will share MY opinion "Yes, it is better than blowout"
OK but not as good as many other Yes songs, due to poor production and the massive ego of Moraz, who was sacked shortly after
I didn't know that the dude had an ego Also HOW does it have horrible production
@@AfterThaNoon its well documented that moraz had a massive ego, the instant fame that went with joining the worlds greatest band went to his head, Jon said that moraz thought he could do anything he wanted in the band, but he couldnt, so we sacked him. Also, compared to the brilliant production of Eddie Offords Yes albums, Relayer was not as good, not horrible, but poor by comparison
Just my advice, not a complaint, you’re not annoying me or anything, but even though it’s a 12 minute long song it’s intended to be that way I wouldn’t recommend cutting this song into pieces and also I would not recommend going on a tent right before the climax of the song.,
Thanks for giving criticism respectfully. A. Now I know that TOOLS copyright isn't that bad. B. It's a very long climax and I didn't know that so........ C. Also, I mean this respectfully. When I yap, I listen when it comes to music Edit: D. I know that the song is intended to be 12 minutes, but that doesn't mean that it can't drag on. And also, that's like saying I can't give criticism to AJR. in which they make horrible songs intentionally Thanks for being respectful about it 🙂
Please notice that there is an INSANE AUDIO DELAY.
Shoot high Aim Low was great - agreed that this album was great. The Yes Album of 1971 would be great to review.
Such a great song. This was their big breakout. It's very progressive but also has great melodies. It really increased their fan base when this came out. It's played at every concert.
Jojo's bizarre adventures(the anime) introduced a lot of anime fans to this load of heaven
Right now I have your reaction on pause and I took myself out to the minor emergency room to get checked out for a stroke. I’ve listened to this song a few hundred times and it’s being chopped up and I can’t process it. What’s going on with the playback???
I was cutting it up to figure out how bad their copyright was. Now I know. If you don't like the video, then get your a§§ on somewhere else. And there is no playback. If you're talking about the start of the video, then that's just my surroundings.
@@AfterThaNoon as you wish jackass. Not being able to take constructive criticism will keep you bitching and constantly defending yourself like a 15 year old girl.
You and me are acting like little girls then. You decided to be rude for no reason. I gave you the explanation. It was not constructed criticism. You decided to full on diss me. Just be nice 😌 Like actually you and me are acting like girls And i however Wish you the best
@@AfterThaNoon ok let me big a big boy here. I understand reading text on a screen can be difficult to understand context. What you might’ve read as being rude or mean was not meant to be. Of course it was a joke about me going to the hospital. I didn’t throw anything out that of you would hear it come out of my mouth you’d hear it as mean spirited. If you still have a problem with me then this will be my last time I address you. Have a nice life. (Sincerely)
Until next time
I love this album. It deserves more recognition and more appreciation from the critics. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
7empest next
Alright. But I won't do more than two songs on the same album
@AfterThaNoon if you want more followers you will for Tool. 😊
I'm not in it for the followers. I'm in it for my own entertainment. So if you possibly like this video, then great, that's on you. Anyways I don't want to react to more than two songs off of one album because I want to be surprised
You yap but listen.
Is that a compliment ?
90125 is a great album, it's just very different from previous Yes cause it was mostly written by Trevor Rabin and had a unique but mostly very commercial sound, and touched up and added to by the other guys and the producer. Big Generator wasn't so good, but has 1 or 2 good/very good songs, but when played live is great. Those 2 albums work out great live and add variety to the prog stuff.
goated song
I like that - "Progressive Pop"! I don't get why anyone wouldn't like this album. There's at least 4-5 good songs. Not as progressive as the 7-'s but still good music.
This comment here is valid. This album is great

1:03 I like the beatles
My Iron Lung is all about the song Creep and how it gave the band life and was also something that they couldn’t get away from. People will be listening to Kid A 100 years from now and it will still sound like it’s from the future. Idioteque is pronounced “idiotic-tech.” Kid A is my favorite album of all time, just perfect all the way through. Like Spinning Plates is almost totally reversed, including Thom’s vocals during the verses. I Will off HTTTis the song that is reversed, but I think Like Spinning Plates is better to the point of it being my favorite song of theirs. It is just so different than anything I’ve ever heard. In Rainbows is a favorite of many hardcore fans. You should read up on how they released this album and accidentally reinvented the music industry and how music gets distributed. Reckoner is what I imagine touching the face of god. And you gave out emeralds on The Bends and Kid A, which tracks. Best band ever and I don’t think it’s even very close.
Dude. This ain't me. This is the youtuber knight reacts
So I found out how to make my camera bigger(kinda)
Near the end of me editing the video , it kept FRICKING freezing. So the last 2 minutes or so of the video is low effort
Good
Thanks
Personally I can't get past Jon Anderson not being the vocalist on this one. Instrumentally also, aside from White's drumming, it's inferior to the previous work. Just wondering, did you skip doing The Yes Album, Fragile and Relayer? Cause those are Yes' seminal works. Some might include Tales From Topographic Oceans but it tends to be a bit drawn out at times.
I did not skip past everything they've made before Tormato. I just decided to start doing reaction videos conveniently when Tormato was my next yes album to listen to in this little marathon. So I will be making reaction videos on every single yes album that i have left to do. BUT I will also be re-listening/re-reacting at some point to all their epics. Awaken , Gates of Delirium , Track 1 2 and 3 of Tales , Roundabout , And I already did Close To The Edge. So no I did not intentionally skip all their other albums. We are all good here. And I'm definitely re-listening to The Yes Album because I didn't really understand the hype for that one and i preferred Time and a word.
You may be a touch younger than I was in 1973 when I first paid Close attention - headphones - to it. Of course, as you know, neither of our lives were the same afterwards. In 50+ years you will love the song, the album, and all of the time adjacent works with a depth and intensity that will amaze and astonish you. Music worthy of a lifetime of devoted, delighted study. Thank you for your reaction. You made an old guy keenly recall his own youth. You can’t do much better than that on a reaction video.
Thank you for watching , And I'm glad I can make older people happy. But yeah , other kids my age are missing out on all the amazing music from the 70's. Genesis , King Crimson , Yes , and Pink Floyd just to name a few.
