A two-plate mold is a type of injection mold used in the manufacturing of plastic parts. It consists of two main parts: a stationary (or fixed) half and a moving (or movable) half. Here’s a basic overview of its components and operation:
Components:
Fixed Half:
Cavity Plate: Contains the cavities, which are the negative shapes of the parts to be molded.
Runner System: Channels that guide the molten plastic from the injection unit to the cavities. Includes the sprue, runners, and gates.

2nd opening occurs because the runner plate is pulled by the puller bolt while the cavity plate is held by the parting lock pin.
