On my mf 35 stop the oil too go back too the resovare, its there a valve in that hole or ., Must have some with the return of oil too, i open up the cover , an the return oil flowing out over cover
I'd lose the spacer. Our IH 300 had some gaskets added that held the orings off and stopped them seating. Cleaned the faces and put hyd back together without and no leaks now.
Good fix! I am running into the same issue as well with my 65. If you would be able to share some more pictures and measurements with me that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
I have fitted a hydraulic selector valve and oil is leaking by the the side. The valve doesn't close on the top of the hydraulic cover , maybe 1 mm space.
did you ever find out what your problem was. I am having issues with mine right now where the arms stay up as soon as you turn the tractor on and will not come down
+Jared Maslen My issue ended up be an adjustment in the linkage.... sounds like your control valve is stuck open. you can take off the right side cover where the dipstick is and move it with your hand to verify. you will have to lower your oil level a bit and all this assumes you have a Massey similar to mine...
Any help or suggestions will be appreciated, this old tractor is pretty well worn out and taking much time from other projects. The alternator bracket measurements with the degree of angle would be a great help.
enjoyed the mf65 alternator bracket installation. I am doing the same project and was wondering if you have measurements and angle of the brackets, also was there a clearance problem with hood.

My Massey was modified before i bought it and they just cut away a section of the casting, yours is a better option

I have never seen a spacer plate fitted there. If the top plate fits and closes down on to the top cover throw it away.
no need for spacer
