But what I did learn is team driving I was curious and I pushed myself to a point. Some people said. You lasted longer than I did and some of them quit within a week. 2 and a 1/2 months into this. I tried to push myself tired. Being tired was one of the problems. And it was catching up And it was Catching up fast. I didn't want to leave the company. But I also didn't want to be a risk. Cause how many times before that 1 time becomes a problem. I'd rather not risk it. My life or anyone else's life, not for a few dollars that isn't gonna happen.. But I did learn some things about myself. I can't be a team driver. And they kept saying you'll get used to it each day was just. Worse than the day before completed our jobs. No injuries, no damages, just property damages or anything like that. Just I could not do it. And not remembering exactly if I actually went to sleep. Or how many hours I actually did or didn't sleep? I didn't know. That was a red flag for me.. But I kept going because I was hoping I would get over whatever it and it wasn't fear it was. I just could not sleep No matter how hard I tried when somebody's driving. So now i'm looking to get into solo O t r Regional I did get to an experienced solo Driving and It was good night and day big difference. Wasn't tired ready to go and. And that's what I want to Do. Way better. But it also depends on the trainer too I had a pretty cool trainer who actually trained females majority of the time. That was his first male trainee. And it also helped that his truck actually wasn't wondering all over the road, like some of the trucks that i've been in. No bouncing Front Wheel when you're doing about sixty miles an hour. And it Doesn't have bad alignment issues. Stayed in its lane, it was responsive. Probably not gonna experience that again, but who knows?

That is weird, why would somebody not want to drive? That's the whole purpose of going through the school. I am anxious to get in the seat and drive. You won't have to ask me twice that is for sure.. Whatever that time came up okay you can drive o k. I have 3 months experience OTR. And these people sit on their hands. Where do I sign up? I'm eager to get back on the road.

I got a 2019 Freightliner cascadia and it's doing auto region I'm assuming because the RPMs keep shooting way up and I keep trying to kick it all out of it but it says the soot level is barely registering so I don't I don't get it I guess I got to take it to Freightliner which is expensive but I don't pay for it My company does and my company can't help me because they don't know why the truck keeps doing that
Count how many hours you are out there and not home is it really worth it the answer is no. Because your hours are really More its just that you not on the clock but you still not home on your own time. That's very low amount

I was with Stevens from Nov '19 til May '20 and here in mid 2023 I sympathize with you brother. I had a cool ass trainer that had a similar personality to yours. I loved the training he gave me, even when I was tired after only 10 hours in the sleeper berth my ass was up in the truck. The only reason I left Stevens was because of the low ass pay at the time. Stevens transport safety training is the best around, I'll definitely give them that. I can tell by your side of this story that he was tripping.

Stevens is the worst company i have ever had the misfortune of working for. Not just the worst trucking company, but the worst COMPANY i have ever worked for in my 21 years of career after getting mt BA. A company that screws up 5 times in a row on your pay (followed by the most ridiculous excuses rather than an apology) and mails your insurance packet to the wrong address...what does that say about the company? This company didn't even clean or service the truck i was about to lease which ended up getting tons of issues after a month. Tim Mcknight from Alliance lied and said my truck was ready and good to go, only to find the truck still not cleaned of all the trash and stains which means nothing has been done for the truck. This company has dispatch managers that are too stoned the night before to remember anything they were supposed to do and you can clearly tell over the phone that something is wrong with these guys. It's not just their attitude. They have short term memory problems and like to lie pathologically so that you can get off the phone with them. Everytime you go to the Dallas yard, you will always visit the safety department for the most ridiculous "violations" and be kept prisoner at the yard for days. It's as if we are getting punished for going home. Unless you drive below the speed limit 100% and drive absolutely perfecrly like some square, you will waste tons of time at the yard. These violations aren't something DOT and highway patrols seriously care about even if you're driving a semi: It's simply STEVENS violations that they came up with to make you drive how they want you to drive. Stevens will make you take a class that takes half a day long and make you retrain with the Red Shirts. Keep in mind that it takes hours, sometimes the next day, before it's yoyr turn to retrain with red shirts. Lies, empty promises, lots of wasted time (time is money....literally) from company mistakes/safety department, terrible dispatch managers, terrible meat patch loads, fake appreciations and smiles. Stevens, you guys are seriously the worst grouo of people i have ever had to work with. I'm at a disbelief at how bad you guys are, yet you never apologize for your many mistakes and act like you're in the right like a psychopath. Terrible. Absolutely terrible. Get your training at Stevens and find a better carrier. This is what Stevens is know for: They are a training company that can't hold onto good drivers.
