We're the dummies from the suburbs that lost our cows in the first 24 hours. Here's the story. We also increase our fenced pastures by 27% and open the new areas one at a time to some happy cows and ponies.

one thing I'm going to have to do is fencing again. We just Finished a nice area back in Wisconsin and now here in the Ozark's it's a bit more rocky. I really enjoyed this video! It's only going to be for goats though. I have never seen a t post tool like that. We always used the tractor loader to drive the post in (probably not the safest). I will have to look into one like that. We also used a fence roller/ stretcher that was 3-point mounted since it was just the wife and me. That did work pretty good. Mechanical advantage is really strong though and they guy we sold it to ripped out a corner post!

So glad you commented! I enjoyed your post about moving to the Ozarks. I love that area. The chiggers are bad (like here) but it's so worth it. I am also from the Midwest originally. The t post driver is just really heavy, that's the down side. I still think it's worth it though. One guy I saw welded a pipe extension (like 12-18 inches) to the bottom so it would be easier to handle. I think that might be a good idea. Looking forward to more of your videos!

We cross Holstein cows with Jersey bull and never get anything that looks like a holstein. They're smaller, mostly black with some brown and white. I'm thinking she was used to carry an embryo transfer. Meaning the dam and sire were actually both holstein. A dose of banamine can sure help them feel better. I give it IV in the milk well. A fun fact for horse owners. You can buy liquid banamine, draw 10 to 12 mls out and give it to horses orally instead of buying those expensive tubes.

She has NO idea what popped out of her, causing pain. She has NO idea that it needs care or how to provide the care. Are there other cow/calf pairs that they can learn from ?

Maybe look into teaching yourself hoof trimming or finding a hoof trimmer for problems like cracks in the cows hooves, a crack like that in the male, could result in a much worse problem because it traps muck really easy. Which at times is what can lead to problems like hoof necrosis, which is pretty unrepairable and causes the hoof to be eaten away by infection. I only now found your channel and i find your content really down to earth. Im in love with your baby heffer's colors. Shes so adorable with the glossy dark brown and white markings!
