Outstanding video! I'm 80 years old and am just learning laser marquetry and found this video very helpful and informative. You mentioned Corel Draw being very inexpensive. Other then the free trial I couldn't find any of their products that I consider inexpensive. Am I missing something? Thanks so much for this video,,,,,,I may even join your web site! Tom

CA glue tip:: Using craft foam board, cut in 1in strips. It will go on just how you want it, yet it will not absorb any. Saves on waste. (Bonus that it doesn't soak through onto your hands either)

Thank you so much for putting this content out there. Great little fun project. I have a question! The first putter I did came out great. The second one however the epoxy joint failed when I poured in the molten lead. Have you had that happen? Do I need a special high heat epozy?

Would you have a how to make dovetails in aspire with the pieces flat on the table? An alternative way to Mozaik and Vortex router bits?

Hello, can you tell me how good the cutting quality of the band saw is? Is it much different from a scroll saw? I would like to use it as an alternative to improve performance, but I doubt the cleanliness of the cut. Thank you

I wish I had thought about this before I carved my first sign intended for multi-color epoxy. Now, I have large voids, I'm going to have to recarve, and I'm doing it with a handheld trim router. I really like this format, questions, answers, and learning from each other. I'll be looking at more of your videos.

Wow incredible work

So, after watching several of your videos to include like Shanes, was there a good result to seal the wood prior to colored epoxy? I know one of you said thin epoxy that doesn't fill the voids, but what type was it or could poly seal the wood as well.

I only used my ortur laser master 2 for a few days and then I had issues with x-axis. Ortur sent me a new mother board, pin board, and the x and y axis cables and found out that the motherboard was causing the problem after changing. Anyways, now I'm having an issue with the laser. It won't turn on. The S value is 1000 and the fire power is on .75% and it doesn't even show a blue light. Could you kindly me with this problem. The laser machine is working fine. The only issue I have is the laser.

Can you please let us know who you use for the Vectric vector “setup”?

I have used Sanding Sealer to seal up the cut grain and find it works great, I apply 2 coats and it's all dry with 30 mins. Nice and thin liquid so seeps in and leaves room for the pour. Great video and conversation guys...Love it. Thanks a bunch

Is it possible that on the laser cut Austin skyline that the actual pre-coating you used, combined with the lasering heat, caused the pre-coating to actually seal the wood better?

So far as helping with the 'wicking' issue discussed at time 1:01 into the video, have you tried a thin coat of clear shellac painted into the first/deepest Vcarved pocket? I've had decent results, but haven't compared it with your method of a thin coat of resin.

Z axis problem, just put 2x4's under the legs until desired height is aquired.

what gbrl use it on software...

My ortur master 2 laser with 20 w laser was running cutting fine now the fire button turns laser on but it's at full power, and when start laser to cut it just runs in same groove at full power. Any ideas what is wrong or what button my shaky hands might have pushed. Thanks

I use shellac on top of the black painted tiles and it does not interact with the paint. I think it is the acetone in the clear that interacts with the paint. What white paint do you guys prefer? I am using rustoleum 2x white primer.
