Hi, my name is Tina and I live in the UK. I am a young-at-heart 59yo, happily married with two grown-up daughters. I have been a professional seamstress with over 40 years experience, and I have enjoyed playing with makeup ever since I can remember. One of my favourite hobbies is hitting the local charity shops ('chazzas'), to see what bargains I can find. My channel is a combination of my hobbies, but there will also be other videos that I feel maybe useful for you guys.

REVOLUTION METALLIC CRUSH PIGMENT PALETTE...on 60 year old.
In this video I do an eye look using a REVOLUTION PALETTE... all the shades are metallic and there are some beautiful shades to choose from, I am a 60 year old woman and love to use all different finishes in eye shadows ,matte, shimmer ,metallic you name it i love it. your never too old to look your best using makeup!

Why it was well worth the run out to Wakefield to go charity shopping!

After deciding to have a run out...we decided to go to Wakefield there must have been about eight charity shops and we did them all. But OMG I found a designer item that I just love! that retails for £100;s of pounds, I didn't get loads if items but by Joe I am so glad we went.

My latest charity haul and as always some great buys at great prices.... I bought a wooden curtain pole but not to use as a curtain pole... so what did I use it for? take a look and see it was a great find at £3.

In this video I do a review on some resent water hammocks I bought for my holiday, I got them from Amazon and I thought that they was that good that I would do a review on them.... my daughters and myself lets not forget Kevin who got on them as well all loved them, so compacted that they can be inflated in minutes any where!

When I found these two lamp shades in a charity shop.... I new exactly what I was going to do with them, I also bought some necklaces from the same charity shop, I put one necklace to one shade and ended up with some great looking outdoor lanterns, one lantern cost £2.50 and one was £1.50 ... and the beauty they look GREAT!

In this video I make myself some lace knickers, I took the pattern off a pair of my favourite ones and they are so easy to make it is just getting the lace right for the perfect fit. You need the right amount of stretch in the lace for the perfect result.

I bought this table cloth a few weeks back in a charity shop for £2, I made the trousers by taking the pattern from a pair of satin PJ bottoms that I have , I made a wide waist band and a deep hem on the legs, I think these turned out great and will be one of my holiday makes on a summer's evening.

In this video I do a quick up cycling using two items of clothing... one item was mine, one my daughter gave me but putting them together what a treat for me, it turned out so well and was a quick transformation. Don't you just love it when a up cycle turns out great! I do.

In this video I make myself some tasseled shorts... So Swanky! It was such a fun make, the fabric I had made it so easy for lining up the tassel in place, I used eight meters of tassel which is four inch long on the size 18 [ UK] shorts, this is the first full tasseled item of clothing I have made and LOVE how they turned out.

Good basic advice here. The most important part is bad stitches on bottom is an issue with top thread. Bobbin thread should have light resistance when you pull on it. It becomes more critical when using very light fabric. Learning to sew takes a long time. Have fun learning. This lady knows what shes saying and this is good knowledge for all sewing machines, not just Juki's.

Hi Tina, I just found you on you tube. My issue is the threads skip stitches. i have adjusted the top and Bobbin and it still does this. Can you please help me. Thank you so much,Oh I better tell you i have a DSL5550N juki. they say there the same but they are not. Ever since I moved it has not been the same. Traveling wouln't do this would it? I have had this Machine for 8 years and not one problem till I moved.

I have a question I have this exact model and when I press down on the peddle and I hear the machine about to sew it sounds like the motor is breathing a bit harder then im use to. It sounds similar to a generator but not nearly as loud, if the machine is sewing I cant hear it but when im sewing really slow and I can watch needle move slowly I can hear it clearly. Should this be something to be concerned about?
Hi Obviously our models are the older ones and are noisy machines to start off with, these machines are work horses and are made to last, my machine has had a slightly different noise of late , I’ve gave it a good once over and I think it’s still a bit noisier but I’m not to concerned about it , it is working fine and still doing a great job , you can get new motors for the machine if you are quite concerned about the noise , the new ones are quite but to be fair the noise does not bother me.
@@TinaBambina ok thank you! The noise doesnt bother me at all I just wanted to make sure I was safe to sew on it. My classroom has really old models I’ll pay attention and see if I hear the same noice. I might’ve been hearing it the entire time but couldn’t tell till I was just in my own bedroom with it.
Random update: I replaced the oil inside and followed your steps and now it makes even less noise THANK YOU AGAIN!

Hi Try re threading your machine from the start make sure the tension discs are not to tight and that there’s no fluff between the discs x
